A Piece of the Old Me

tiffgolf

I’ve said before that The Secret got me to become a marketer – not because I believe the universe delivers anything, but because I feel you have to start living the way you want your life to be if you want it to happen (it shoves negative self talk out of the way). So I declared myself a marketer. My friend Becky (in the last video) told me to do that with my activity, too. Here’s what happened when I did it…the above pic is a hint.

I think we all suffer from interactions with strangers. Our lifestyles are so digitized and isolated even though you can tweet, text, email, vm anyone to your heart’s content.

I’ve always been introverted and really struggle with human interaction. I joined a Business Network International group a while back and that was great for bringing me out of my shell.

Then my J.O.B. turned south and I parked my hind end in the basement to be on never-ending-conference calls. Turned 50, stopped any exercise and popped 40 lbs on in a year.

Then my employer of 25 years gave me a new opportunity to find a new career!

So guess what I’m doing in between article writing and monitoring TiffanyDow.com?

LOL. Yup, started a little business and I’m sweating my tail off, finding lost muscles and actually lost 10lbs.

Worst part of it is I have to go around introducing myself to total strangers. I spit and stammer and bit, but feel like a champion when they hire me to do their windows. Even better when they see what a difference shining windows make in their home.

Now I really would rather the IM stuff to kick in, but in the between time I’ll find some time to shine.

    Good grief,

    Kater ;>

    P.S.

Love the PLR ATM idea. And what a cathing headline! LOL

i’m glad you had a good day today. :-) I highly doubt you could walk into a room full of internet marketers and people not know who you are! If I met you in person, I’d probably go insane and start screaming or something. :-) LOL

  • Lewis Smile says:

Try meetup.com for groups in your area! There are quite a few IM ones showing up for the UK. Probably 1 or 2 near you!

I’m really glad you seem to be getting on top of life at last. It’s been a horrible couple of weeks watching all the grief you’ve had and being too far away to be of any practical help.

I hope the social aspect works out well for you because then you can give me tips.

I’m still trying to get my head around that my life has been downsized to a 9 x 7 room. Four walls and an internet connection, what more could I ask for?

Keep up the good work Tiff.

    Adrian

    • Tiffany says:

Hey Adrian – I’ve probably forgotten with all my drama lately, but why are you in a 9×7 room? If you’re hospitalized, I’m so sorry! I got drowned in my own sorrows and can’t recall. Hope you’re doing well.

I’m not much for law of attraction type stuff, but I do believe in future-thinking I guess you could call it. Like looking forward 5-10 years and making ‘I am’ declarations today, like it’s already happened.

The difference being – I don’t believe ‘the universe’ is going to delivery it to me magically – I need to work towards it one day at a time. Like -

I am earning $X monthly in passive income (because I worked my tail off developing various income sources)

I am enjoying regular backpack trips to beautiful places that inspire me (because I got my weight healthy & strong muscles & took baby steps)

I am happily married to my best friend (because we made our marriage a priority even while raising kids)

So maybe it’s similar to what you’re talking about.

I have been to internet marketing events and it can be a ton of fun or stressful & a semi waste of time due to too much pitchiness. I think if you chose selectively you’d really enjoy it. Heaven knows we don’t most of us have local friends who know what the heck we do or why!

About being more active, for those of us who aren’t natural athletes, what helps me when I don’t feel like going for the walk or whatever, I say, “What’s more important in the long run? Being healthy and strong for the rest of my life, or writing for another half hour, or working on this post, or watching this video?” I mean really, it does help me get off my duff!

You “double cheeked it”! Atta boy, girl! I bet it felt great!

Golf has always been so helpful for me – both in good times and in bad. There’s just something about being so focused on one target (that flag) that helps all your other thoughts just melt away for awhile. I love it.

Glad to hear you are back to smacking that little white ball around!

Ha ha! Thanks Jennifer – I know you get what the double cheeking thing is ;) Being a female golfer, you’re always having to prove yourself among the men, and yes, it feels great outdriving them.
