Action Alone Won’t Cut It for WSO Success

Pinterest

Hi everyone! I saw something in the Warrior Forum the other day that made me realize something. You know how time and time again you hear people (including me) say that you have to take action to be a success?

So you work hard to put the right kind of Warrior Special Offer together. You ask questions like, “Which day should I run it?” and “What time of day is best?” You’re so nervous you feel like you might faint when you finally fork over the $40 it takes to get listed.

And it flops.

Well all this time, we only had it partially correct. Action alone won’t cut it – even PERFECT action when you implement every detail that someone shares with you.

I get emails from people all the time who come to me and ask, “How do I launch a successful WSO?”

I can give you MY strategy. I can tell you that I ran an honor system WSO for a pack of coffee and it was a huge success, selling hundreds of copies – most in the $20 range.

I can share with you the language I used in my sales copy, tell you exactly what time and day – and where I listed it to the exact same audience – but yours might still flop. Even if you did the same exact niche!

Why?

Because in addition to action taking and quality production, I did the following:

Branding

My picture is out there. Long lost Wildebeest twin be damned – I am going to put a face to my name so that you know who you’re dealing with. I see tons of Warriors with no picture running WSOs.

No picture? No trust.

I don’t care if you’re bald, have buck teeth, look like a Chia pet has lodged in your nose and ears there’s so much hair – or can honestly call yourself a Cyclops – I want to see who I’m buying from.

My name is out there. I’m Tiffany Freaking Dow and I splatter it all over the place, like it or not. I’m not Tiff89D or something obscure like that. I want your name. Maybe not your middle name, but a full first and last if you want me to remember you and trust buying from you.

branding

Participating

I want people to get a feel for who I am – like it or not. You might not like my attitude at all, but you’re going to know without a doubt that I’m saying what I truly believe.

If you’ve been on the Warrior Forum longer than me and you only have a handful of posts? Sorry – nah, I’m not going to trust you much unless maybe I know you from elsewhere.

Doesn’t mean you have to storm in there and post 25 threads a day, but to SELL, you have to network. You have to let people decide whether or not they like you and want to buy from you.

Some won’t. I have many who don’t like me. That’s no problem because there are many who do. I want to see frequent posts. If you’re a drive by WSO runner, then you probably won’t get my money.

I know many of you go there and dread participating.

Get over it. Who cares if no one responds, if there’s a backlash, or if you get banned because you screwed up? At least you tried. Lurkers don’t run successful WSOs – and if they do, it’s rare.

No presence? No sales.

You feel like you have nothing to contribute? You have an opinion. There. That’s something. So go share it. Weigh in with your opinion – even if you’re the only person there who thinks a certain way.

Don’t go in there with your nose shoved so far up some “old timer’s” butt that you can’t breathe right – that you can’t disagree or if they disagree with you, you back down and thank them for setting you straight.

We can all spot the ass kissers and it generates a big eye roll and a muttering of “pathetic.” People don’t buy from followers – they buy from leaders. This isn’t a popularity contest. It’s a business forum.

participation

Dominating

Start developing a reputation for being the best. The best software developer, the best ghostwriter, the best PLR provider – whatever it is, be the best at it. Go digging to see what other people are doing and how they’re better at you.

Then strategize about how you can begin dominating over them in the marketplace. Can you do MORE of whatever it is you’re selling? Can you do it FASTER? Can you do it BETTER?

Let me explain with a real life example. Let’s say I’m new to the Warrior Forum and I want to launch a PLR store and start running WSOs for my PLR.

Here’s what my action plan would be:

1. I would create a profile with my name and picture and begin participating daily on the Main Warrior Forum section so I could expose my signature file – which had a link to my PLR store and some sort of wording about it being the BEST or another superlative of choice.

2. I would log in every single day and if anyone posted about PLR, I’d be responding in there with a HELPFUL reply, not just saying, “I have PLR on that here…”

3. I would become a massive creator in the PLR niche, amazing everyone with the volume of output I could achieve. I would be out to create a buzz.

4. I would Google to see who’s blogging about PLR and start networking with those people – on their blog, on Twitter, G+, etc. I might whet their appetite by giving them a sample pack.

5. I would be creating things like “How to Profit with PLR” and posting it in the War Room, running a FREE WSO for it, etc. It would be PACKED with value and also give away a free sample pack inside the PDF.

…do you get my point?

You don’t go into ANY business model online and say, “Well okay, I’m going to follow all of the proper steps,” and leave it at that. You go in HUNGRY. Ready to tear the competition apart.

competition

You sit there brainstorming unique ways to get your name out there. Different strategies to “steal” customers away from the competition because you’re THAT good.

You’re not SHY. There’s no shy with an online business – sorry, there’s just NOT.

So do you want to succeed with a WSO? You go into it with a leader mindset. Stop asking everyone useless questions about time of day or day of the week.

Look at other WSOs and don’t emulate them – DECIMATE them.

Tiff :)

Really awesome post Tiffany. This one really strikes close to home for me. Been on the fence about creating a WSO, and your post makes it very clear: fence sitters are losers. :) Thanks…

  • Excellent post and so apt for me right now. Having just published a WSO, I know that I was definitely feeling the fear of lack of response, lack of movement etc.

When I started out in the beginning I did all the things you mentioned. I participated, I left comments daily, I created a free WSO offer, added my link in the sig box. Then I lost momentum.

I know all the different bits and pieces that I need to do in theory, its just remembering to put them into action.

Maybe it is time to remove the avatars from the Warrior Forum and replace it with my photo just like I have here. Thanks again Tiff. :)

It is. It’s also something you have to enjoy or you won’t do it. I enjoy it – even when I’m fighting with people who differ from me in thought – so I engage heavily. Not as much anymore but more than some.

Great information on doing a WSO. I may do one myself one day. I would love the idea of getting a ton of orders for a product like some warriors do like yourself. That is a great feeling I’m sure. Take Care, Sam

Hi Tiffany, that is excellent advice. I like how you put things straight to the point, without dancing around. Before I launch a WSO I will think back to this and do the leg work first.

    Thanks,

    Tasha

    Hi Tiffany

Your comments about WSO’s came at a good time for me because I have been thinking about whether or not to brave the WF again. In the past I have always found it so daunting and of course the problem with making money from WSO’s is that you have to keep generating the content for each new release and I am looking for more residual types of income streams.

So while I am not going to go back to the WF just now, your comments about being yourself, being visible and showing other people they can trust you, I think they apply to any type of internet marketing or niche marketing business models. Thanks for the reminder :)

Brave it! I do make recurring income from old WSOs :) They’re indexed in Google and people also use the search function.

But if not, yes embrace the other stuff LOL

    Hey Tiffany

Love the way you give advice – I was about to start yelling Yeahhhhhhhhh like it was a half time talk at a football game……or like in the movies, the warrior guys before battle!

    Chhaaarrrge!!!!!!

    See Ya!

    Tiff,
Okay so now I have several reasons why the only WSO I ever ran flopped.

I never thought about building a presence on the WF, it just never crossed my mind. I have made SOME post, SOME replies and SOME thank yous but only SOME.

Guess I need to get off my rear end start promoting myself there too.

    Thanks,
    Clyde

This is excellent timing, since a WSO is going to be in my near future. Your advice couldn’t have come at a better time.

  • Tamsin says:

Like most things, requires persistence and ….. consistent action!! Follow through – all the normal, common sense that we tend to be too lazy to do :)

Will add WF onto my list of places to make a name before doing any promotion.

  • Wow! That’s great advice, thanks Tiffany.
Oh and my $0.02 it’s a stressful thing to do your first WSO – but when you have it up and running you wonder what the hell you were stressing about, do everything Tiffany suggests and go for it!

  • Bonnie Gean says:

I was participating over at WF, but my post count is pathetic. I’ve been a member since 2005 I think, and I have less than 100 posts.

The problem is two-fold: I didn’t like the smarty pants over there that have nothing good to say and I can’t seem to find TIME to do posting, blogging, writing, content creation etc.

How the heck do you do it all?

    • Tiffany says:

lol in and out like a flash. I don’t dilly dally. I need to do a post with screen capture video I think. Yours is the most common question. How do I do it all. LOL! :)

    • I agree with Bonnie. I have 27 posts there. I never see topics I want to get involved in. None of them seem to fit what I’m looking for or what I know, and I refuse to comment just for the sake of commenting, because that’s lame. And since I haven’t found anything there that makes me want to jump in, I forget to drop in for weeks.

I think Tiff can do it all because she has the drive to do so. I haven’t had that kind of drive in so long. In fact, these days, I hate to admit it, but I don’t have any drive at all. That’s a whole other topic, but my main point is it’s hard to jump in at WF when you don’t feel the love for it and nothing sparks your interest there.

  • I just shared on facebook a though on this theme:

“Most of the problems in life are because of two reasons…
    We act without thinking…or
    We keep thinking without acting”

I work best when I just work on gut instinct and take the first open opportunity to whack whatever online without fuss or muss… even if I don’t get it right, I have taken some action at least …. the rest of the time I analyze the project to death and get frozen to the spot… very tedious!!!

  • This has spurred me on to do something I have put on the backburner!

I have the PLR domain name, even bought your course when it was on sale, have been writing for years and years, both online and in print but have put my PLR store on the backburner.

I have been focusing on article spinning which has been good because I am the best there is at that! But I can great quality PLR and already have hundreds of articles to use as a basis.

    Thanks Tiff!

Thanks for the reminder on the participation. I leave comments about products I buy but haven’t gone looking for topics in a long while.

Since I’m now home putting together my niche research packs so a WSO will be coming soon, I must remember to comment while I’m out there looking for people who do similar things!
