Amazon Affiliate Bible Review Part 2

Pinterest

Hi everyone! I’m on to part 2 of my Amazon Affiliate Bible review. Now yesterday ended with me sending a communication to Jennifer because the theme I’m using is customized so I needed to know where to put the code. She got right back to me the same day.

I appreciate that! So what I did first thing today is fix the code as she instructed, and it worked. However, I think because of the theme I’m using (skinny), the code isn’t something I like the look of. But the original idea that I picked up from her on this strategy is beneficial – I’ll just be finding my own method (including possibly text links) to do this.

Amazon Affiliate Bible Companion Guide

So I had to go through this yesterday and finish it up today. This is all about using the bonus templates she provides. This will work great on a natural, two-column theme. Maybe even a 3-column theme if it’s wider than mine is.

She covers each bonus template and shows us what it does when it’s on our site.

Some of the other text-based templates WILL work on my site and she says they’re all in compliance with the TOS so that’s great! I like that she ensures that so we’re not putting our accounts at risk. I think my favorite will be the star rating one. And it just pulls in the current one instead of relying on us to do a screenshot, which might become outdated.

The tab template is also REALLY cool – but again, you’d need a wider theme than what I’m using.

Adding Value

Now THIS is where I start getting excited. It’s the kind of stuff I enjoy. I don’t get toe curled with templates personally – nice and all, but I rarely use them.

Oh AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Lookie here: Top 10 Toys Moving Fast Up the Bestseller List. Lookie what I can do! Thanks to Jennifer. Love it! I’m not telling how – it’s her course. That’d be rude. But she teaches the easiest way possible. Not hard at all. A little copy and paste.

Since my theme was too skinny, I just adjusted the width everywhere it was mentioned. And voila! Added value INDEED.

The next method I won’t be able to do because of my theme – might even make me rethink my skinny theme for an Amazon site. It’s almost imperative to have a wider theme for this type of site.

The thing she’s teaching can be done manually using her neat bonus templates – or, she tells us about a cheap plugin we can buy to do it for us. She walks you through step by step with screen shots on how to use it.

End of Today’s Review

Okay I was REALLY hesitant today to get started because I worried about codes and all that scary tech stuff. But Jennifer’s correspondence was simple. She was really nice. Her instructions worked instantly.

I got a GREAT nugget today. Something I had always wanted to know but never could find out – video – not just ANY YT video (link leakage is why I’ve never used those) but THE official Amazon videos. Jennifer has a specific reason why these are better and I agree.

Today’s nugget was so worth my $17 for Amazon Affiliate Bible. That one tip alone was worth it to me. I know it’s going to increase conversions in a BIG way and I’ll be using it repeatedly – as in on every post possible.

Tiff ;)

Aw, the video isn’t visible on iPads. Must be flash. I wonder if it would be ok to download the videos on Amazon and upload them to Youtube so they can be seen on iPads and iPhones too.

I’ve read through the entire PDF today and the templates alone are worth the price. Can’t decide where and how to use them yet – so many ideas! LOL!

Your post on the Top 10 Kids site looks fantastic! Great job.

FYI — I just discovered this Amazon Affiliate Bible is available as a Kindle book from Amazon at a cheaper price than the Warrior Forum PDF. Don’t know whether the Kindle version has the templates, as I don’t understand enough about how Kindle and PDF work.

LOL, that made me jump. When I popped over to your toy site the video started playing. Then I had to find it so I could pause it. My speakers were up fairly high so I just about jumped out of my chair.

You may want to turn off auto-play :)

Your site is coming along, looking good!

Thanks for the review. Glad to see an Amazon product.

Follow-up: I bought the Kindle and returned it almost immediately for a refund. DO NOT WASTE TIME AND MONEY ON THE KINDLE VERSION.

Tiff’s right regarding the bonus items, templates, etc. They aren’t in the Kindle version. Worse, there are two appendixes in the Kindle version with a web address to go to for those items — and it simply isn’t there. Going to the specific web page given in the appendix gives you a 404 error.

PLUS — There are no images, only placeholders, throughout the Kindle version, and there are no hyperlinks in the Kindle version.

My guess is the author thought she could simply do a quick straight across upload of a PDF file into Kindle and did nothing to format it properly.

Happily, Amazon’s pretty good about refunding Kindle purchases if you jump right on it when there’s a defective content problem in a Kindle ebook.

    Hi Tiffany,

You know I’m one of your lurker fans and I just checked out the toy site. Great stuff.

I almost feel like I’m your alt tag police but in a super friendly way.

C’mon Tiff, I know you know better…alt tags are toy1,toy2 etc.? Just trying to help.

  • I haven’t gotten all the way through your post. I clicked to see your other site, but the video played on its own and scared the crap out of me!

My volume was up a little bit from whatever I listened to last. Is there a way to make it not auto-play?

Auto-play audio is a big turn off for many readers, so maybe you should ask her if there’s a way to turn that feature off.

Otherwise, I’m very interested in buying this guide – not that I “need” another guide right now. But that other project of mine that we are gearing up for this spring could use affiliate links and products in some posts and I wasn’t sure what the best way to do it was.

    Hi Tiffany:
Great review today. I really enjoyed it. The Amazon Affiliate Bible looks like it offers people who want to create Amazon Affiliate sites a lot for the money. I think I am going to buy it tomorrow. I plan on doing some Amazon sites along with my Squidoo lens this year and it should be a big help. Of course, I will buy thru your link. Take Care, Sam

  • Bonnie Gean says:

I would ask Amazon (first) if you’re even allowed to tamper with their code.

There is an autoplay value=1 in your code. (I checked), and perhaps if this was changed to 0, it wouldn’t automatically play. Though, I would check with Amazon first before messing with their code.

They do autoplay it on Amazon, too.

I guess this purchase will be for Feb! Got to finish John Chow first! And, I think I am having issues with Gravatar! pffffff!

  • Yoan says:

Coollllllll!! I was in panic mode! Technophobiac!!! Ahhaa!

  • Darryl says:

Comments on the sales page are over a year old. Still ok and up to date? I’m not a total newbie, but have not done Amazon yet. Still doable you think for me and others like me?

  • Kerry says:

Ok after this review, I had to buy it & I can’t wait to read it! Thanks Tiffany.

  • Sara says:

I’ve often wondered and have tried a few times to use the Amazon videos. I’m loving your review so far about the Amazon Affiliate Bible – I need to know what all these tips are lol…so I guess I’m going to have to give in and get it! :)
