Amazon Affiliate Bible Review Part 4

Pinterest

Hi everyone! Continuing on with my review of the Amazon Affiliate Bible. I’m feeling annoyed today because on one hand, my Squidoo sales are popping and my traffic for my affiliate site is starting to gain (loving seeing new keyword phrases I’m being found for). But the direct Amazon sales are puny. Less than 4%. I was at a 6%+ for awhile. Maybe everyone’s just now getting their post-Christmas bills and are in shock. LOL!

Best WordPress Themes

Now I have a custom theme that I like, so I won’t be implementing this section, but I might on one of my other affiliate sites if I feel it’s worth going to the effort. The first one she tells us about is a paid theme.

I went to it to look but man, I have a hard time buying a theme from someone whose sales page is so cruddy looking. And the link after click here is just as bad. You have to wonder why you’d invest in someone’s product for theme, layout when their own is just a steaming pile of poo.  And they’re charging $147 for the set. No thanks.

She does give good advice about that theme though. And she shows us one of her sites using it. Always good to see in action. Her site looks good except the pages at the top bleed into the header. She says it converts well though…but even so, nah I wouldn’t invest in it.  Love how she does a very honest Pros and Cons list. Ethical!

The second one she shows us is much more affordable at $37. Very professional site, too. I also like her sample site MUCH better on this theme.

The third theme is $127 and comes from a professional site. I like the theme on her sample site too. Looks nice.

The fourth one is a paid one, too. Just $39. Comes from a professional site. I like her sample here, too.

4 Ways to Create a Bestseller List

Well since my WHOLE SITE is about bestseller lists, this is one I am REALLY looking forward to!

Okay this is cool, but it doesn’t allow me to include my personalization. I’ll show you an example of what she taught me here: Musical Instruments for Kids. Cool though that it was so easy!

Pretty cool on the next method! I did mine using her tips. View it here: Top 10 Bamboo Toys.

I can’t do #3 because I’d need a wider theme but it’s cool.

Number 4 is cool. I did mine slightly different than hers. Go to the main blog at Top 10 Toys for Kids and look in the right sidebar. This is stuff (the last 2 tips) that are already out there that I just forget exists. Good to have the nudge.

Alrighty! Well I feel productive today. I really liked the First two tips on the bestseller items but I’ll want to work on really personalizing those somehow.

Tiff ;)

Looks good overall, but the text and pictures are very small on the bamboo toys page. Is that because of your theme?
I like the sidebar widget – gotta try that one :D

    Hi Tiffany:
I really liked the Bamboo Toy and Musical Instruments for Kids. Appears these are just Amazon widgets that can be made inside the Amazon affiliate area? Right? I am really enjoying your review on the Amazon Affiliate Bible course. Take Care, Sam

I like how the Bamboo toys list looks. Very easy on the eyes. The first one, I’m not too crazy about, but then again – I don’t buy toys for toddlers so it’s not a break-me sale kind of thing!

I do love the sliding widget on the sidebar. That’s so cool! Is there any way to stop the slider so the prospect can take a closer look?

Your toy site is awesome! You offer great information to those looking to buy toys. I will definitely revisit again when the need arises, and it will. (I have 16 grandchildren ;) )
I went ahead and purchased the Amazon Affiliate Bible..could NOT wait any longer, lol. I’m excited to dig in and implement now. :) Thanks!

  • Hey Tiff,

I don’t have this course yet, but I did find a theme I really like and the functionality kicks ass in my opinion. The only drawback I see is that the header might be more difficult than some to make personal – however all the colors are customizable.

It’s on wso for $17 and has some built in amazon affiliate thing. If you want the link, I’ll email you. I’m pretty sure I’m going to buy it for a couple of my sites.

What I loved and what pretty much sold me is that they have 4 videos showing how to set it up, and use it – before you even buy it = all on their sales page!
