Ask Tiff – Your Questions Answered
I want people to feel comfortable asking me questions. Some think it’s too simple, so they’re embarrassed to ask it, and others don’t want to bother me – I’m telling you now – ASK! Below is a list of 5 questions one of my customers of Building an eBook Empire asked me (all names are kept confidential as are your niche ideas) and I’ll answer them here so you can learn, too!
1.) What’s your opinion of the eBook subject?
I won’t let you know what his exact subject matter was, but I want to teach everyone something about their niche eBook ideas – make sure it’s something people will pay for. This particular idea is something I see in print media all the time. It’s an informational topic – almost like a cause. The types of eBooks I’m used to being profitable online are problem-solution eBooks. I’m not 100% how a topic of this nature (exposing something and educating them) will sell online.
2. Although I’ve read Chapter 2 of your eBook “Building an eBook Empire”, I don’t quite understand how keywords are implemented. For instance, how do I integrate thousands of keywords into my sales letter?
This is on my radar to rewrite because some people understand it while others ask exactly what you did – how to utilize thousands of keywords on your sales letter. You don’t. You acquire that list of keywords for ALL of your online marketing efforts. When I write sales copy, I don’t specifically think, “insert keyword HERE and THERE…” I just write to convince my target audience. You will naturally use keywords as you write this.
Your keyword list is for the promotional stuff you’ll be doing. For instance, you’ll take a keyword phrase – let’s say “how to make an eBook,” and you’ll make a lens with that title, write an Ezine Article with the title, make a Hub with that title, a blog post with that title, and so on. You want to ensure that when someone types in “how to make an eBook” into Google, some piece of web 2.0 real estate pops up that you own. OR, you want to have so many backlinks pointing to your domain using that anchor text that your domain naturally rises to the top of the SERPs.
3. My marketing strategy is to generate a huge list of keywords and then cast a wide net. Twitter, Facebook and Google Adwords are obvious venues. Any suggestions?
Yes, use those you mentioned and also target WetPaint, Hub Pages, EZA, blogs, sig file in a forum, Google Knol, and Squidoo. Just do it one keyword at a time. This is great for cheap ghostwriters on Elance. Dn’t be a perfectionist in the content, either – not for backlinks. You want it to be somewhat good, because it’s what will represent you, but don’t nitpick over every comma, quotation mark, etc. Paste it in and go on to the next.
4. Blogs make a great deal of sense to me. Are you still ardent about blogging as you express in Chapter 7 of “Building an eBook Empire”?
Yes. I get lazy, like many people – but I try to maintain the momentum with my blogs. I have a few.
5. I should start blogging ASAP, right?
Definitely. Google and other search engines love blogs. PEOPLE love blogs – it’s a peer influence and not a company selling to them. They build trust with you. Use WordPress IMO. With blogger, you might wake up one day to find your blog’s been shut down and no longer exists. Buy a domain at GoDaddy but do NOT host there. Host on Hostgator instead. Buy a Baby plan for $7.95 a month (unlimited domains).
I hope this helps. You can use the contact area to email me direct with your questions. No one will know your niche or your name.
