Taking Action as a Niche Marketer
By Tiffany | May 18, 2008
Do you sit by on the sidelines watching other marketers cash in with their eBooks while your ideas ebb and flow, but never materialize? Maybe you feel like you don’t have the expertise in any profitable area.
Or perhaps you don’t even know what is profitable when it comes to information products. Most marketers who haven’t yet tastes success get disgruntled after awhile. They start believing that the only way to make money with an eBook is to sell a “How to Make Money Online” product – and since they haven’t done it yet, they can’t tap that niche, either!
The truth is, the top names in this industry have developed side empires within niches that aren’t related to Internet marketing. They never talk about it because they protect their most valuable information.
The Colonel would never give out his secret recipe for “finger-lickin’ good” chicken, just as top gurus aren’t going to blab about their money-making consumer niches. What they do instead is use certain tactics to spy on profit-pulling competitors and then in a stealth-like manner, they swoop in and tap into the niche themselves.
In some cases, they’re the first to develop an idea for an info product because they use other means to see what consumers are hungry for. How many times have you read that you’re not supposed to attempt sales in a niche where there’s NO competition?
It’s taught in various guides – “There has to be a balance of some competition, but not too much to the point of saturation.” I say that’s a bunch of bull, and I should know. Back in 2001, I started freelancing on Elance and quickly rose to the top of my game as the secret weapon to dozens of big-name marketers (as well as those flying under the radar).
If you spy on my old Elance feedback, you’ll notice I’ve worked for Jimmy Brown, John Reese, Rich Schefren, and Janet Wilson of Empowerism fame to name a few. In my guide, Building an eBook Empire, I gossip about what I learned over the last 6 years from my clients, who taught me every detail of the business – enough that I stopped freelancing and became a marketer of my own information products.
The shocking thing is that I detail it all – including how you can develop your own niche eBook empire and start mapping out the plan for your own “How to Make Money on the ‘Net” rags to riches tale.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a novice or advanced marketer – everyone should read through this and use it as an investment in your business. Smart entrepreneurs always know what the competition is doing.
I kept my Building an eBook Empire affordable for the masses. I didn’t want to charge an exorbitant amount for people who were just getting a foothold on their success. It’s only $27 – and yes, I got scolded for not making it one of those $97 course prices, but I wanted exposure and I didn’t want to shut anyone out of this information. Funny thing. After two YEARS, I am now taking action and getting things done. Things are just starting to “gel”.
I suppose the hardest part is just “doing it”.
You’re the best, Tiffany.
