Do the RIGHT Thing By Not Delaying

I read something today from a G+ friend. She talked about the PLR ATM course and mentioned that she’d started her site, but put it on hold until she could afford DLG and a WSO. She said, “I know you said they’re recommended, but optional, but I wanna start out right…just am hesitating investing the extra dough.”

I know she’s not alone! Where are you stallers? I know you’re out there waiting to do it right!

Well it’s funny, but the RIGHT thing would be to do it NOW.

The longer you delay putting your shingle out for some sales, the longer you delay your success. I suspect there might be more to this, like FEAR.

It’s scary putting yourself out there as a seller. What if no one likes your products? What if they ridicule you? What if no one even stops by to browse and buy?

How humiliating, right?

Wrong! All I have to say to that is, “No one cares!” Everyone’s out there busy building their own businesses. They don’t have time to analyze your business model.

They’re not on your PLR site to look at your shiny new WordPress header or see your sidebar layout. They’re there for content and as long as it’s affordable and top quality, they don’t care if it’s on Squidoo or if you’re Tweeting it or if you’re sitting at home mailing out a Flash drive with the content on it – they’re like the Honey Badger – they don’t care.

You’re missing out on sales and BRANDING length every day you fear or put off getting started.

So I want to see some PACKS out there, ladies and gents!

I know you have it in you!
Tiff :)

  • I wanted to make sure that I had a couple of article packs to add to a site before I purchased the course. That way, I had no excuse about setting it up.

Due to lack of funds, I also researched alternatives to Aweber and DL Guard and am currently using Mailchimp (free) and e-Junkie (where I found a code for a 100 day free trial – ends next month).

No excuses not to get your site up and running. Do a Google search to find cheaper or free alternatives, even use Blogger Blog until you can afford to upgrade.

    Good luck everyone

I am using squidoo and ejunkie until I can build up to a real site. I just decided to go for it like you said and not worry about not having everything perfect. And, you know what?? even though I didn’t have a “purty” site I still made a sale!!

    don’t let fear stop you!!!

Wow! Thanks for the kick in the rear, Tiff! I’m honored that I inspired today’s blog post even if for all the wrong reasons, lol.

You’re right, I need to stop putting it off. And you’re also right that fear has been a factor. I was all pumped up after completing PLR ATM and I immediately started working on http://www.PLROneStop.com, but then the naysayers started telling me how a PLR site is a shot in the dark and I read a few stories about people who started sites but couldn’t turn a profit. So, I began to fear investing another $250 or so in the business. Not to mention the time factor in creating packs.

BUT I’ve also met a few people who are doing okay with PLR businesses and I definitely need a fresh income stream in my life (to replace one that it’s time to let go of). Lately, I’ve been thinking about revisiting PLR ATM as a refresher and going ahead and taking the leap anyway.

I think it’s Joyce Meyer who says “Do it afraid”! I’m hearing that phrase loop in my mind as I type this, lol.

Okay, I’m gonna go for it. Thanks to TipTopCat for the free alternatives. I’m going to look into eJunkie before deciding whether or not to spend money on DLG. Already have aWeber, so I’m good there.

Again, thanks a bunch for the encouragement, Tiffany!

It’s really the motion that begets motion. A natural rule of the universe (or something like that) that an object (you) in motion stays in motion or an object at rest stays at rest. The good thing is that once you get a few customers, you will feel like you need to make more new stuff for them and you will be inspired. I work on my business for about an hour every night after the kids go to bed and I am getting there with a decent number of subscriptions. Now I have to work more on conversions. Tiff, put that on your list for the next thing to teach on.

Fear and delaying do go hand in hand sometimes. I suppose the best thing to do would be just clear your head, forget the doubts/fears and get to doing stuff already.. It’s not easy though. I myself keep getting held back and start delaying even though I constantly tell myself “DON’T DELAY THIS, IDIOT!!”, lol.

I think I’m more thought-oriented and I end up thinking too much. It helps if you try and become action-oriented and maintain a balance (what I’m trying to do). You know, I’ve also observed that whether there are risks or not, I should just go ahead and do the xyz thing anyway. If the plan succeeds, booyah! If not, you get a clear idea about the pitfalls to avoid in the plan and you’ll know and become confident about the subject quite well. No course can teach you what first-hand experience can. But it all boils down to persistence, I believe.

  • Amen Tiff!!

I have dealt with this before, and I’m so glad I just did it anyway. My site, after only a month, is generating nearly 400 hits per day. I did put a lot of effort into it, but I’m so glad I did!

    Hiya Tiff,

I purchased PLR ATM at the very end of July and didn’t actually figure out how to add my product to the website until a week later. I think I was able to post to 2 days on the Challenge before it ended and even had to email you to find out how to get the product to the buyer because I couldn’t get DLGuard and still haven’t gotten it. It’s a good thing I asked because in truth I’ve only been up and running for less than 2 weeks but I have made 2 sales without knowing yet how to market myself.

I try to do something everyday and as of now I have 6 packs up and am writing my next one but because school is starting and I have a ton of things to do – it’s taking time. I try not to let that be an excuse to quit I know if I don’t take action – I won’t see a return.

I have a steep learning curve and know I’m not doing everything “right,” but I am learning more by doing than by just asking questions or researching. I spent almost 4 months before taking action but I don’t dwell on where I could have been by now if I had just jumped in, instead I try to do a little something everyday.

I have no one to answer to but myself – I like that you try to motivate us and spur us on, but the success or failure of my business is on my shoulders and I know this.

I want to quit my job in 2 years so it’s a goal to learn as much as possible and hopefully by then I will have built up a list and a following that will make it possible. I have a goal of one PLR pack a week but as I get better at writing the articles and learn more about promotion and the business side, I hope to increase that.

For the other newbies like me – I promise you – if you will get started, you will learn more and faster by doing, rather than just researching and it’s worth it. Who cares if you screw up? No one will know unless you tell them and you don’t have a boss to impress or any stupid quotas to make – so just do – don’t TRY – DO! (P.s. is there something stuck in my teeth?:D

I like how you do it without having to be “right” – there have been things I did “wrong” for years and suddenly I learn I was doing it wrong and am able to change it. LOL!

Thanks for sharing this Tiff! This is exactly the way I work – whether it’s a new affiliate site I’m working on, a new traffic strategy, or whatever. I launch projects before they are so called perfect, or even before I know I haven’t added let’s say all the pages to a site I had in mind. The key is getting things out there to start building links gradually, while building your brand and then keep on adding products/posts/pages on to a site as you go along.

    @Laura: PLRONESTOP.COM,
Another option for those who are thinking of starting a PLR store and don’t have the funds for DLG is http://getdpd.com/ (not an affiliate link). They have very reasonable plans with tons of features. It’s a great option for us newbies. It’s what I intend to use.

    Just wanted to share!

      Cynthia,

A week has passed, so I don’t know if you’re still tuned into this thread or not, but I just saw your comment and wanted to say thank you.

I’m trying e-Junkie and am all set to go as soon as I figure it out. So far, I’m stuck on how to offer my packets while protecting my link. I’m sure it’s an easy-fix, but I can’t seem to figure it out. I’ve uploaded my zip file, but I’m not seeing how it’s going to be protected, so I keep reversing my upload. I’d planned to be live already, but this is slowing me down. So frustrating!

Of course, after this, I’ve got to actually get my checkout buttons onto my site. Hopefully, it won’t be as challenging. Am thinking about splurging on DLG just so that I can follow Tiff’s instructions on the PLR ATM video. Will check your link out first if I can’t figure e-Junkie out, though.

      A million thanks!

      ~L.

    Hey Tiff, :)

You are a girl after my own heart!

I hear ya loud n clear….(big-time staller here!)

As another reader so kindly said – Thanks for the much-needed kick in the behind :D

    *LOVE* this post.

    Keep rocking.

    Thanks for posting this Tiff!

I just finished reading through your PLR ATM and have set up my website with my first pack. I KNOW its not pretty, but I always spend too much time agonizing over the theme, color scheme, header, etc., before I even have any traffic to the site!

This is a good reminder to just get it out there and worry about that stuff later!

Great post. It took me a while to get off my behind and get started too. I know I’m not doing it “perfectly” but I knew I needed to get started. So I put FEAR in it’s place and got going. Now I have to get into the habit of working consistently. Reading the posts during the challenge were very encouraging and inspiring. It also helps me to know that I’m not the only one walking by faith in this new venture. Always love visiting here. Such an inspirational place. Good luck everyone. I know we’re going to do great if we stick with it!

    Hi Tiffany,
Ok, as you know I was one step away from quitting. My husband was the angel that told me not to give up. So, I have been working on my site and created one, that’s right, one PLR 5 article pack. I have been terrified of putting the site out there because there is only one pack, and, well, it’s just not “perfect yet”….oh heck, I’m going to try to be brave (stomach is turning as I write this) I will continue to work on my PLR and hope that I get better every day. Thank you so much for being such a great role model. Here goes nothing….(closes eyes)

  • Pat says:

    Hi Tiffany;
This post really strikes a cord with me. I have started a PLR site http://www.plrsmartmart.com but I felt that before it should be promoted that it needed to have many many packs and choices in it. Unfortunately I have become quite sidetracked trying to establish backlinks to my other sites.
Is there a magic number of packs that should be in a site before running a WO?

    • Tiffany says:

No because there are so many factors that go into the success of a WSO – fate on when it’s launched and how many people see it (no magic day either), topics and whether anyone wants them, your skill on selling the packs and their value to the reader, etc. I wouldn’t run a WSO for one 5-pack for instance but if you google “tiffany dow plr wso” you might be able to find all of mine that are up there.

  • Steven Brady says:

You know, I’ve been working on a site on and off for a couple months now, always wanting to get “just enough” content to actually go live and start selling it. Every time I reach a goal with my content, I sit back, think I need more, and then keep working. And you’re right, it’s time to make a change. I need to get my butt in gear and start making sales. If someone buys right now, then my price per content was worth it to them. If they wait, then I haven’t hurt anyone.

    Thanks for the great advice!

  • Mary Ann says:

    Tiff,
That’s me a;; over/ Wrote my PLR during your 30 day challenge, now trying to get it up on the site via DLG. Having a devil of a time, am NOT a techie. My 15 yr old son uploaded DLG, had to call Sam to help, and now trying to figure out how to upload my content for sales.
Slow going but at least it is all forward!
