Easy Way to Make Headers for WordPress Templates
I use PowerPoint and Paint. That’s it. It’s crude and definitely not the best way to make graphics BUT it works for this tech dummy.

You are the woman
Thanks and that was fast lol.
Desmond
Really fast!!
Thanks!
You should check out http://www.quickwebcreations.yournicheblog.com/
It’s as quick as your method and gives you amazingly professional text headers with all kinds of nice effects, like shadowing and sticker-like effects.
I use it for pretty much every single site I build!

Hi Tiff
Great info as always. You mentioned in the video that you hyperlinked the title back to the product, how did you do that?
Again, many thanks
Katherine
Katherine I go in to edit the source code and use image hyperlink html code (google image hyperlink html code and it’ll show you what that is)
Hey Tiff, one thing I would say is if you save these files as .png instead of .jpg, the images look much clearer. (I learned that from the videos on IPK.) I didn’t believe it at first until I saved one ad I made as a jpg then again as a png, then compared the two. Wow, what a difference!
I think it’s important where you trying to make the image look as juicy and tasty as possible (sorry, I’m thinking about sushi
) so that people can’t resist clicking it!
As always, great stuff. Thanks!
Carole I heard that but I always forget! LOL
Tiffany, thank you so much for showing me how to do that. Will make it so much easier and faster than trying to work with someone to design my headers. When designing niche sites, you just need to do something quick that looks good enough. I have resolved to quit trying for total perfection and just get it done already…hard to make money that way.
As noted, quickwebcreations.com (without the affiliate link) is very good. It’s worth getting the deluxe version for the extra features and the instructional videos.
Also, try the free version of artisteer.com, which can do a lot more than just headers. It can create a complete template.
Gimp.com as a Photoshop alternative.

I just ran across this amazing site somewhat related to headers and layout. See how well you can guess the winning page.

Hey Tiff,
I use a free header graphics software tool that is very easy to use and it cranks out some great looking headers w/images & text. It’s called XHeader and it can be downloaded through this link (non-affiliate) http://www.xheader.com/.
Ray
OK, wow! After seeing all the hoops you jump through between PowerPoint and Paint, I’d love to see just how fast and creative you’d be with a copy of Photoshop or Gimp in your hands!!! LOL You’d have a whole other stream of income making banners!
Seriously, some weekend when you finally have a lil free time you should give it a shot – cuz you’d be deadly with it! It’d be like the day someone took the stick away from Michelangelo and handed him an actual paint brush! lol
LOL see overly technical things scare and confuse me. I’ve tried those tools before – couldn’t figure it out.
I checked out the software Ray recommended – xheader.com – it is awesome! Thanks for the heads up on that Ray. I can’t believe there’s a free version of it.
I’m pretty good at Photoshop and several other tools, but XHeader made it REALLY quick and easy, and I didn’t have to start from scratch. I think that for someone who is not an expert at design this is a real must-have tool.
