Good Advice from Affiliate Niche Club

So Dave is one of the kind people who, during my scare with Scarlett’s heart problem, issued me some kind thoughts and while he was at it, sent me over his niche report for the MOMU market. It had some great insight into it.  I’ll give him a plug here: http://www.affiliatenicheclub.com for his kindness but he also gave me some good advice in the comments on another post here today.

Dave said he was a bit surprised I wasn’t list building from my lenses and that I hadn’t done any pre-selling of MOMU, either. He’s right. All I’ve done so far is hyperlink. But I’m not quite ready to stick the opt in forms on there. I’ll do that once I have at least 14 emails ready to go out to my subscribers. I don’t have those yet.

Still, today I went into each existing lens and added a module that had a hyperlinked eBook cover (which I’m not a fan of graphics-wise, sorry Travis), and a blurb for it on each lens. You can go check one out if you want to. The lenses are being found for two more keyword phrases: miss my ex and getting dumped through text (ouch – that must suck!).

No new sales. Dave calls this phenomenon the lucky duck sale – one hit and then nothing else so the affiliate marketer gives up. I’m still waiting for my blog, although Lewis said I can go in and start posting to it. I don’t want to mess with it until he’s 100% done. He’s been on vacation for a few days so he’ll be back on it soon. I’ve seen it and it’s gooooooooooooooood so I can’t wait until it’s fully ready!

Been spending the weekend with my little girl and working on client stuff. If I was fulltime affiliate marketing all day, I’d have a ton more done, but this s a side project for me. So it’ll take some time.

Oh! I did outsource content for about 5 more lenses or so to my step-daughter, who is in college to become a writer. She does great work. I’ll do those lenses tomorrow. I don’t feel like it tonight.

    Hey Tiff,

Thanks for the props on ANC. I’m Dave’s sidekick on there. I don’t believe for a minute that he was actually kind though. The Dave I know eats nails for breakfast…LOL.

Hey, I was going to mention real quick on the MOMU thing…

I totally agree about not doing a fake story when promoting it, but it’s pretty easy to still do a story. What I’ve done before is used a 3rd person point of view to share a story about someone else…

It could be a heart warming story you read about a break up and reuniting, or a story about a friend of yours who went through a rough relationship.

Heck, it could also be a story you saw in a movie, TV show, or a book. I did that with my MOMU list once by referencing and talking about the story line from the TV show Californication.

Once you get your list going too, you’ll have plenty of people pouring their guts out to you about their situations, so there will be even more stories to draw from.

Good idea and I did do that on one of my lenses – like a “Dear Abby” type of Q&A.
