Google Author Tags

Hi everyone! I was researching SEO for a PLR report that I’m writing and I stumbled on something that I hadn’t been employing, so I wanted to pass it along to you. You may already be doing this, but I wasn’t.

It’s the Google Author Tags. I always love seeing the result of these – it puts your image from Google Plus next to your blog search results.

So go into your G+ profile and edit your profile and add your blog URL to the Contributor To section. Save and click Done Editing. Then add the rel=author code (Google it) so that it shows up in one of your blog posts to be crawled by the search engine.

Mine will look like this:

Go to the Rich Snippets webmaster tool and enter your new blog URL to see how Google will now list your blog post. It shows mine like this:

Much better than a plain blog post with just text because the eye is drawn to the image.
