Grill a Guru and What I Have to Say to Complainers
You can download the PDF interview here: http://www.tiffanydow.com/gifts/TiffInterview.zip – I’m on a rant. When my emotions are already frazzled, as they have been lately, I go into take no shit mode. That’s where I am now.

How dare dude say that to you! Man, I feel like kicking some virtual ass, but I seriously doubt dude is worth it. If he interacts with people like this online, I am really curious to know how he handles people in the real world. He is probably one of quietly secretive psychopathic people…ha, ha.
Very interesting video.
When you are on the don’t take sh*t from no-one you don’t beat around the bush!
I totally agree with you as far as burning bridges, and I think that it probably comes from anger and frustration more than anything else. That’s unfortunate.
What I think is happening in the market place is that the days of easy money, and there were some, are long gone. Today, the Internet is a marketplace that’s growing – maturing, would be a better word – and with it the process to do and stay in business is normalizing.
What I mean is that you don’t just slap a webpage and bring in traffic and cash in on sales. There’s a marketing process that must happen and there are relationships that need to be built before business happens.
New internet marketers are still being influenced by the old marketing gimmicks, and when the results don’t appear they blame the most reachable individuals. The ones, who like you, are willing to go the extra mile to help the newbies out of their funk, are the ones who are getting the brunt of the frustration, because you care. Those who made the killing and have gone their merry way, don’t care or are no longer online to respond, even if they cared.
I agree with you, starting the dialog civilly will help and there’s nothing like sharing a comment or post on one of the many forums online (definitely starting with warrior forums) will go a long way in helping resolve a lot of frustration and bring up incredible amount of helpful information as well and some of it from those same gurus that not have known they were the cause of so much grief.
On the other hand, should one really care about individuals with such a “terrific” personality?
Maybe we are all better off if they go back to their shift job, it’s a lot more predictable and safe.
Thanks for being patient and for being so open with all of us. You are one strong dudess!
all the best,
joe
Hi Tiff
Just wanted to say thanks for the effort on the BTF grill the guru file. I will take a look at it in the morning.
Sorry to hear you had yet another person take their frustrations out on you for no reason related to you. I don’t see what these people think they will get out of complaining about IM in general or a diff person’s product to you! Seems illogical to me personally.
Thanks Ruth – yeah sometimes I forget to ignore. But you know, if I didn’t take everything to heart I might not have the same caring attitude I have for people who do treat me right and who I want to help. I wonder…
Clefty, you’re welcome! I think maybe people tell me their woes about other marketers because they know I’ll listen? They know their email reaches ME and not a support desk for deletion?
Joe, you’re exactly right – the make money fast days are gone, and what’s funny is so many of those gurus are “retiring” leaving everyone else to teach how to grow a business from scratch (the slower way).
Tiff,
Use your delete button. We all make mistakes and say things that we later regret. And like the grown ups we are, we send another email and apologize. Obviously, this person vented at you and still thinks it was OK. This kind of BS is really a downer and not only does it make you angry, it can really mess up the rest of your day. Don’t waste your energy even responding. For people like this, nothing will change their viewpoint.
Take a deep breath, let it wash off you, hit delete and move on.
All I have to do is learn to take my own advice!
I really found the interview insightful, and, useful. It also was the straw that broke through to me – I will buy BTF when I can afford it. Like one of the question’s a woman posed to Kelly & Mike, right now I really see it’s value but I don’t have a penny to spare. But soon.
You do great work Tiffany. And you do most of it freely and willingly.
Thanks for that.
best regards,
r
Tiff, I don’t understand ‘why’ you give these people ‘any’ of your time at all. If I get stoopid E-mails I hit the delete button .. end of story. I’m happy with my own integrity and no-one can tell me diferently.
Your integrity is above reproach to most people but this dick obviously relises he/she knows how to press your buttons when you’re under stress.
This video has made their day. They now feel famous and important at the same time. You’ve done them the biggest favour you could possibly imagine
Cheer up Tiff
You’re better than that.
Pete.
Hey Pete! You know, a few times, some hot headed person has done something like that and my reply and their subsequent reply opened a dialogue to where they turned out gaining something from it – a real understanding – they learned. That didn’t happen in this case but it could have, possibly.
