OMG! I just got into your third video (after watching the 2 Network Blazer Vids)… And now “I Get It”.
At first I thought – “What has Tiff got us into now?”…
Of course – I’ve been advising my “newbie” followers to stop using Squidoo and Blogger for creating “main” content sites. I had some of the same fears and problems as you with banning and loosing content.
Plus – everyone want’s to use WP blogs because we all hear how WP is the Best.
But… I’m trying to coach “newbies” about creating little oil wells of income producing sites that don’t need constant interaction and new content to make a bit of income with each little site.
I’ve learned that having a bunch of tiny “affiliate income [Amazon] and adsense income” from several (many several) websites is like having tiny little oil wells of income residual that all add up to “large” income at the end of each month.
I could never get my head around scrapper sites or push button sites. I still want all my sites to reflect me (or pen-name me’s)… sites I can be proud to say “I own this site”.
The answer to creating these types of sites “with ease” looks like Network Blazer!
My question for you – Tiff…
Do you continue to add content to these sites? The “drip” method?
Or – Do you rely on continually adding backlinks to keep your sites ranked?
I know these Network Blazer sites (yours) are new… I just want to know your thoughts on keeping the traffic numbers “UP” on these sites once they have the 5 pages of content.
I don’t think I’ll really continue adding to the pages, Debra but I may add A page. Did that make sense? IOW, I won’t add more content to my elongated toilet seats page. It’s done. Stick a fork in it. But if I decide to build a whole minisite on toilet tattoos, which I am, then I may add 1 page to the mother site on toilet tattoos. And those two will cross promote one another.
I think though, Craig is generally set and forget. He may do some PPC though and I DO plan to test his exact strategy on that in the near future because I do trust him.

Just a word about Craig’s PPC ideas. They do work. I got my Christmas sites up too late to get indexed and ranked, so I did as Craig suggested and did low-cost PPC campaigns.
I spent about $200 during the Christmas season to gross about $600 in Amazon commissions. Would I have liked to have the whole $600 to myself? Sure. But I couldn’t have even made the $400 without the PPC.
The only pisser is that Google would arbitrarily raise the cost per click on some of my keywords from 5 or 8 cents to 50 cents or 1.00 overnight. When that happened, I just removed those words from my campaign. I couldn’t afford them.
Oh. I forgot to tell you the most important part. During the Christmas Season, the clickthrough rate from my sites to Amazon ran about 35-40%. The conversion rate at Amazon, once my referrals got there, was something like 16-20%. It truly was outrageous. That’s what is meant by “targeted traffic” I guess
My results after Christmas haven’t been nearly so dramatic, so whatever you do, don’t miss out on the Christmas rush!
I did PPC for my IPK sites in 2008 (when I first got IPK) and made around $8000 (spent $2000 on ppc).
This year (Christmas 2009) I only relied on search traffic and made around $3K.
Now, my thoughts on Network Blazer.
While I love IPK, I’m not so much into NB. Now I haven’t tried it, but I’m wary that using a content management system will leave a footprint online for Google to find. They won’t have to look far to deindex a whole swoop of NB sites if they want (the same thing happened to the ebay BANS sites a few years back) and it’s happened to many other content management systems as well.
Of course I’m not saying that it will happen, but you only need a few people to make some spammy pages using the NB system for Google to take a serious look at it.
Plus I don’t really like the idea of not having full control of my sites (did I read that if you stop paying the monthly cost for NB that you lose your sites?).
I think I’d rather have full control over my domain and hosting so I know what’s going on.
I’m a free traffic convert now. While I did make some excellent cash using PPC it was kinda scary to spend that much, and of course Amazon takes AGES to send your money (and I’m in Australia so it takes even longer for the cheques to clear). I’m more than happy to let the search engines bring me traffic now

Tracy how many Christmas toy sites do you have? I use IPK too and made good money without advertising in 2008 and 2009, but I didn’t make anything like $3k. I have about 12 toy sites- so maybe I just need to make lots more? But…
I am a bit concerned that now so many people are doing these toy sites the market could br saturated, so am not sure whether to keep spending my time on them.

GEEZ I’m gonna get on that PPC train lol

Wow Tracey that’s great on the PPC! I’d spend $2k to get $8 in return
What will you do next year? Free traffic or PPC?
On the NB Craig said you don’t lose the site – he can zip and send you the files if anything ever happens or you choose to stop.
Hi Tiffany,
I’m a free traffic convert now.
