Kindle Publishing Challenge Day 18, 19 and 20

Pinterest

Hi everyone! I was busy with school stuff and a little ghostwriting over the last three days so I’m just now back to the challenge.  Okay I just now finished up whatever I wanted to add to it. It’s done. So I saved it as Garamond font and as an HTML file. I’m ready to upload!

Okay I just uploaded so it should be live when I wake up. One thing – for part two of this challenge, when we do the promotion portion for the next 30 days, I’m not going to work on promoting this particular book. I really don’t want to be in the niche at all. But I DO enjoy my vegetarian book and my fiction book, so I’m going to pick one of those to work on.

For the remaining 10 days of part 1 of this challenge, I’m going to work on my other Kindle books – Online Career Plans part 2 and my next fiction story. I’m excited!

I think as I feel more comfortable being on Kindle and building up a solid reputation there, I’ll move on to bigger books. I like doing short things and then having a compilation one ready.

So how have you done the last 3 days? Holding steady with progress?

Tiff ;)

    Hi Tiffany,

Thanks for all this. You remided me too that I had a domain geared to the Halloween theme which was too late for last year so I should dust it off and follow your guidance.
    Question:
Did I miss something….how do I format my bool for the Kindle?

  • I am just getting the outline down with my wife for the next in the “Mommy Fixes” Series. Really REALLY excited about finally working together with my gal.

Also, you have inspired me to start doing reviews of the things I love on my own blog. I am constantly reading books like wayne dyer, Mike Dooley and other personal development stuff. Why not post my thoughts and action plans just like you do here! I look forward to your emails everyday just to follow along with someone going through the same thing as me!

    Brilliant!

    Hi Tiffany

I have been in promotion mode for the past three days – creating a video and some articles for The Happiness Diet and then using Fiverr to backlink the video/articles. I have also written the first two chapters of my next book (on a totally different niche) but I still think that the diet book could do with more promotional work so I will be mixing up a batch of marketing/new product creation in the coming week.

    Have a great weekend

Head down, tail up today… I had a day off from writing fiction so I could go back to my story with fresh eyes. I just realized that the opening hasn’t portrayed the main character with quite the personality I had in mind. I need to go back and give her a slightly harder edge.

Are you saving it as HTML or HTML (web, filtered)? The last one gets rid of most of Microsoft’s glitchy code, I believe…?

Good idea to do the promo for the books you really care about.

I am at the proofreading and editing stage now. I am so nervous about putting it out there, but I wanna upload next week. I also need to write my description page and set up a mini-website to go with it so I’ll try to do that. Once all that’s done I’ll continue with the challenge properly.

Had a day off yesterday to spend the day with friends. I am also at the editing, proof reading, adding extra bits stage.

Also at the stage of OMG have I got to upload this now????!!!!!!

I have sent a copy to my kids to read as I wanted some honest feedback and so far so good. Good feedback (in fact praise from my eldest son!!!!!!) and some good suggestions too. As the book is in part about my life/experience they know it first hand.

Today I would really like to wrap up the editing as I feel procrastination creeping in. I also need to go back to Geoff Shaw’s course for a bit more info on the next stage and a confidence boost.

I think my goal is to get the book online in the next 3-4 days and then I will have 5 or 6 days to crack on with my feeder books before the end of the challenge.

“Feel the fear and do it anyway” is my mantra for this week.

Sounds like there are a few members of the “nervous Nellie club,” including me.

I finished my very first fiction story for this challenge — 6,500 words, wondering if that’s a good length for the first story in a series. After I edit and proof, I have no idea what to do next to get it on Kindle. Back to Geoff Shaw’s lessons … .

I think one confusing thing is, do I start a website using my pen name? How does that work?
