Kindle Publishing Challenge Day 6
Hi everyone! How are you doing with it? No shrinking off in the sidelines now, if you haven’t gotten today’s assignment done, get it done now. I just did now after writing that sentence. By the way, Mom got her page done yesterday and was already working on today’s when I called her this morning.
She came over yesterday for Dylan’s birthday and she mentioned that she worried she was going off track with too much detail about a personal story. She’d gone “off track” for one whole page
I told her not to worry about that. Adding personalization is good. While it may not directly be a “how to” component of the book, it HELPS people to get to know what mindset others were in when they overcame or went through things.
Never be afraid of personalization.

I got my page done today. I agree with personalization. Get better.
Great job Cheryl!
Awesome! I have had this problem. Although I must say it is much nicer to be on the side of having too much content than to be finished and looking for filler.
I guess being a talker by nature the only real trouble I have is verifying value added. Am I adding extra pages of useful content or am I rambling and causing the chapter to linger.
Sometimes I will cut quite a bit out in the end. Like editing a movie, some great scenes may not seem to fit the overall flow.
But save that editing and evaluation for after you are done. You may find the entire book can change direction for the better
They call that “killing your darlings” Coach – each word is a darling and we have to cut some
lol That’s cute! I like it. It is very tough to do though. Any good tricks for making the slaughter a bit easier? Most times I talk myself into leaving it by telling myself someone may find that random rant useful.
I was concerned that I was sharing too much family history and information on mine, but figured when all was said and done I would be editng before it’s published anyway.
Got my writing done, but just barely. Didn’t have the energy I had yesterday, but staying on track. Hope to pick up a couple extra pages in the next few of days.
People like to get to know people. I like that when reading.
On track and staying ahead of myself. I decided that even if I do more than one page in a day (which is happening a lot) that that will not buy me a day off (except I am taking Sunday’s off – just an old habit). So, ebook is growing like a nice little bambino.
Something else I do before I start to write is to scan through sites I am subscribed to for inspiration for subtopics in my niche. Keeps it fresh and “living” sort of.
That’s a great tip Cheryl, thank you!
My page is done….and an extra one too. Yay me! And yay to all you motivating folks out here that are keeping it going!
My page is not done …. so goodbye.
lol Rick get on it!
