Liar Liar Pants on Fire

Hi everyone! I was just about to go wrap up today when something funny hit my email inbox. It’s a ClickBank refund request from Linda B. I’ll spare her the humiliation of listing her last name.

So the ClickBank refund request (for PLR ATM) says the following from her:

I am actually quite reluctant to request a refund because Tiffany Dow scares me! I thought I was buying information for selling PLR but this ebook is far more to do with Internet Marketing, Social Networking, running blogs and lenses (!) and then after you buy I have been bombarded by the after sales techniques of Ms Dow, if she is teaching to write PLR why make so many offers to buy her PLR work. She is quite intimidating and condescending. This is not the information I was led to believe by the sales pitch and regretfully am applying for a refund.

Okay settle down, class! I know you’re all snickering. First of all, I’m SCARY? Intimidating? (Okay this post might be a prime example of condescending, so I’ll give her that – but she deserves it). I look at this and i immediately wonder, “Oh my! Did I have a bad interaction with this “lady?”

But no…she’s never once emailed me. I checked!

I go to see if maybe I was rude to her on my blog but guess what? Her only blog comment to me was here: Weekend Gift for Tiffany Dow Subscribers. (Hers is the last comment – by Lynda and I gave a nice polite response).

So this chick obviously was HAPPY with her purchase and now says it isn’t the information she was led to believe in the sale spitch?

I call BULLSHIT, Lynda! You’re a liar plain and simple.

If you just want a refund, people – get a refund and be honest about it. But don’t lieeeeeeeeeeee. I HATE liars. Because then it makes me think they’re nothing more than thieves trying to get a freebie for something they obviously liked. So yes, you should be scared of getting ridiculed with the excuse you gave. Pathetic.

Now let’s address the other issues. How the FRIG does this lady think that PLR gets SOLD without “Internet marketing, social networking, blogging and lenses?”

Do your customers appear out of thin air in your living room and ask for content?

I’m laughing in disgust at this person.

You here all know I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE helping people who possess common sense, motivation, ethics and drive. (ie: all of you regulars and many newcomers who make sense). But this kind of crap pisses me off on one hand, and on another makes me HAPPY that they’re so ridiculous I can see failure written all over their future.

Good luck to ya Lynda – and thanks for the chuckle today. I needed it :)

Tiff

P.S. Lynda, I took the liberty of unsubscribing and blocking you from my list since you were still signed up eager to take advantage of all my good advice. But feel free to pop in here from time to time to say hey!

You go girl! Some people are very straaannge… Glad you got a chuckle out of it. Good for you. Now back to work you threatening, intimidating person you! Ha Ha Ha!!!

  • David says:

Wow. Is it chilly in here?

  • Tiff,

I love your spirit! Tell it like it is. Awesome.

I agree. Sheesh, if you want a refund just ask. Why do a song and dance. lol

    Debbie

  • Aww Tiff, I think maybe she did like PLR ATM but somehow didn’t know how to apply the principles and so hasn’t made any sales. In the process she probably got discouraged and like most disillusioned IMers do, blamed the product creator. She should have gotten in touch with you for one on one advice but was probably scared ;)

Bad she lied. But please go easy on her okay? 2010 is a long time not to have made any sales (and yeah, I did look for her comment on that post.)

  • Quoting Tiff:

“How the FRIG does this lady think that PLR gets SOLD without “Internet marketing, social networking, blogging and lenses?”
    /quote

Isn’t there a big red button we just push to make sales/money online? :-)

Your post cracked me up. We all have to deal with refunds but BS refunds (stuff like, refunding 21 seconds after downloading and saying “it wasn’t what I expected”) tick me off as well so it was nice to live vicariously through this post. :-)

  • Dianne says:

    Tiff,

Three words: You are hilarious :) You made me laugh at this particular post and the lady who wrote it and doesn’t have a clue.

    Thanks for the giggle.

    Dianne

  • All I can say is “people are strange!”

This makes us better customers ourselves!

  • I have PLR ATM and thought that all of what you had in there was necessary. I am sorry that Lynda didn’t think so. Besides which, all she had to do was unsubscribe from those messages. Each one of your emails has that on it.

  • Wow I wonder if you could package this ‘quality’ and offer it as a bonus for parents with naughty children.
I can visualise the Headlines but better not spell them out in case I offend anyone. Frankly you are better off without her. Although I wonder if there is such a thing as blacklist book that marketers can use as ‘Pants on Fire Check’ similar to a credit check by finance companies, for those lovely people.

Love your graphic Tiff and we still love you

    Charles

  • Time to hire a personal assistant so you dont have to deal with this type of negativity. My mentor has a saying, The way a person does one thing is how they do all things.

  • Yochana says:

Wow! What was she smoking. lol

  • Wayne Ong says:

    Tiff,

Had a good laugh here too! Nice way to start my morning (it’s 9AM over here)

  • Debora says:

    Tiff,

That sucks, sounds to me like a serial refunding freebie seeker.

What she does not realize is that if she ever does get serious about internet marketing, she will need to use a whole new identity, as her reputation will be tarnished using this type of behavior.

Good for you on exposing a bad apple. Love the Title of this post as well as the Pinocchio picture. To funny! :)

  • 3bagsfull says:

OH SNAP!!! No she didn’t :0 — honey badger is on the prowl :)

  • 3bagsfull says:

    p.s.
ummmmmm ever heard of UNSUBSCRIBE????????? Make it your friend. It is there for a reason!!! If you don’t want to get emails from somebody, you can control the situation.

  • Alice Coaxum says:

    Hi Tiffany,

There’s a big difference between the tones of two comments (the one on your blog and one to Clickbank)

I don’t know how one intends to sell PLR without getting themselves out there through the various methods she named and more.

I think that comment to Clickbank was just out of line. I would feel a person writing something negative to that extent is either just trying to get your account closed or hard up for money now and looking for a freebie. I’m just not buying the scary and intimidating part because a person that scared wouldn’t write that LOL.

Now of course I don’t know her and can’t speak for her but as they say if it looks like duck, walks like a duck .. it’s a duck.

Also just because you teach how to sell and create PLR what makes something think that your personal PLR business is supposed to stop.

Does the nonsense ever end? LOL

    • Tiffany says:

I was pissed about that too Alice. It’s like slamming me to the marketplace operation on purpose. Shady! And I sell PLR but I buy it too! LOL

  • Kate says:

    Breathe! Tiffany! Breathe! rotflmao

  • Tina Golden says:

Wow, Tiff – you sound like me when you get going! I don’t believe I’ve ever seen you cuss before… lol. Sometimes I swear it’s just necessary to vent, isn’t it?

I can’t for the life of me understand the comments about your after-sale marketing, either. I get your emails as I’ve bought tons of your stuff, both PLR and non-PLR, and you’re one of the least pushy marketers I’ve seen online.

That woman either has definite issues or she just plain wanted to rip you off. No doubt about it.

  • Buck says:

    In Defense of Lynda:

I don’t know Lynda or her motive, but I can tell you what I have experienced with some sales material I have purchased (not necessarily from you.)

I have been very excited and happy about material I purchased and reviewed before actually going through the material. Then, when I did go through it, found it to be anti-climatic.

What may have looked good the first day turned out to be a waste of time when I actually started working through it.

As you (Tiffany) are well aware, I have asked for refunds before. My first step is to try to contact the publisher and either explain myself and seek relief, or, if necessary, I try to find relief by way of a different product if the first one is just not suitable.

  • Edie says:

What a turn-around! I checked her original comment before I read the rest of the post and these comments. Doesn’t make sense. My first thought was that she spent too much over Christmas and needed the money, but then I saw she just bought the PLR ATM course(?). Hmmm.

Her comments to ClickBank certainly don’t make sense. And you are scary? Honey Badger, maybe, but not you!!!

Honey Badger definitely had a right to come out with this one!

  • Jon says:

Well you did say: “Welcome Lynda! Hope we get to know you here on the blog” and seems your wish came true:) She did of course give you an excuse for a post so ultimately the spin off from her negative comments could produce more sales for you. Every dark cloud has its silver lining.

  • hagar says:

we’ll just get you a T-shirt with “thug for hire” across the front… black with that white lettering that looks like graffiti… that way them skittish types can’t say they didn’t know LOL
… and although the gal convinced herself into a refund, I will have to agree on the “scary” part… at least when honey badger is out (grin)

  • Ron says:

    Hey Tiff,

Lynda heard a little voice tell her that PLR ATM stood for Please Lynda, Refund…At This Moment. hee hee,

I like that! Look at this way Tiff, when you run your bath you’ll save on hot water :-)

Good Job Scolding…did I say that!

    Ron

  • Melody says:

Tiff – you missed the whole point, silly girl!! It’s just after Xmas – she probably just got all of her credit card bills and had to scare up some moola somewhere! Ah ha!! Those easy to refund Clickbank products!!! A lot easier than getting your money back at Walmart for that leopard toilet seat cover or the grocery store (tough to tell them the pot roast was not what you expected when hubby ate the whole thing in one sitting…)

LOL – once again, you gave me a good laugh for the day….and I definitely needed one today.

  • Jo Ann says:

Tiffany don’t hurt or scream at me:o but I’m wondering which copy of the PLR ATM she read. I absolutely love my copy!

And what fool wouldn’t be beyond grateful for all the free information and training you ‘bombard’ all of us with?

But seriously, I can soooo remember being just as inexperienced and confused as she seems to be (and I still am about some things), and that is a horrible place to be.

If that’s the case, I feel sorry for her because she obviously has no idea what she has even purchased. But if she’s just a thief trying to rip you off, she’ll never make it in this business anyway.

    • Tiffany says:

Jo Ann I could never! She mentioned having bought several other info products in the IM niche before, so my gut tells me she’s a freebie seeker. Oh well.

  • Harry says:

    Tiff,

Stand your ground, dear. Don’t let her get to you or rip you off. She’s probably one of those spoiled brats who thinks people should cater to her. I’ve been around such people, and they irritate me. I usually end up putting them in their place.

  • Mel says:

    Hi Miss Tiffany,
Had to laugh a little when I got the e-mail telling me about this post. Thought to myself, “UH-OH, who peed in Tiffany’s Wheaties today!”, and so early in the new year.
I must admit that I have bought product thru CB from you and others, but have never asked for a refund from anyone, so I can’t comment on the refund process.
I am just wondering if she actually knew that you would be able to read the refund request that she wrote.
I know I wasn’t aware of this fact, so I learned something from you without you being aware that your ‘rant’ was actually teaching something.
Thanks again for all that you do.

    Mel

  • Deborah says:

    Devil’s advocate, here.

I love you, Tiffany, but it looks like you did exactly what she was afraid of you doing when she wrote that comment. You wrote this post. If she’s been around long enough, perhaps she thought you’d lash out at her (like this) as she’s seen you do in other situations (warranted or not).

She would have been better off simply stating it wasn’t what she thought it would be, but… that’s beside the point.

Regardless – I don’t find you scary. And I am 100% certain she did not read PLR ATM based on her comments. I have it. I use it. I’ve made sales. And I was 100% sure of what I was buying and doing throughout your course and videos.

    <3

  • Michelle says:

Ok, after reading your post, I have to say something. What I am about to say is probably no surprise to your loyal customers. I bought Tiffany’s PLR ATM a day after Christmas. My gift to me! Now, after reading the entire ebook and listening to the videos, I am appalled that someone would even think about a refund.

I found Tiffany to be extremely relatable and one of the most down to earth people. I actually get excited when I see that I have an email from Tiffany Dow, I always find her emails to be full of information.

Tiffany, you are a God sent to many of us that truly are ready for this business and understand the nature of the business. Thank you for being you. BTW… you are hilarious.

  • James Brown says:

    Hi Tiff,

I used to be a gasp, serial purchaser. I did ask for many refunds on Clickbank because the stuff I bought was the complete opposite of what the sales letter said. You know the type that says, “you don’t need a blog or website,” then you open the package and the first paragraph tells you that you need to set up a website, autoresponder and ten other things.

I bought 3 products from you. All 3 were top notch material. I love ATM PLR. I haven’t had a chance to do anything besides, purchase my domain name and outline my first PLR Ebook. I have 17 days at the end of Jan to get it done!!

You sell quality products and you are the best list owner out there. I am on a lot of lists and there is not one owner that comes close to the type of rapport you have with your email buddies.

    Keep doing what you do.
    James

  • Cindy says:

    Hi Tiff,
I’ve been wantin’ to ask about the “Bad Words Jar” :D

  • Zoe says:

Ha. That is outrageous. You know I got myself PLR ATM and Ghostwriting course. I had also purchased before another course on ghostwriting, and it left me with many questions I thought I’d have to figure on my own. But, I found yours very informative and made me feel enthusiastic about venturing into this area of writing for pay.

Now here is the thing, I have not even attempted to begin on this route and no way did it have to do with any of these courses. I just have not taken action BUT I do believe that if I did I WOULD have a darn good chance of succeeding by applying what you teach. So any weakness in that area is on me.

Your course rocks. I have more of an offline biz but still dwell in the ideas of PLR selling, affiliate marketing and other.

And yeah, after reading her comment and then the reason for a refund request above, it just don’t make sense.

  • Sam says:

    Hi Tiffany:
There are quite a few people out there like this one. But the many good outweigh the few bad. Keep up the good work Tiffany. You are always fair and very helpful to all of us subscribers.

  • Eddie Gilbert says:

    Hey Tiff,

Can I get my money back from the affiliate sales that you set 142 of us up for in your WSO, since it has to do with that “Internet marketing” stuff?

Oh… That’s right… You gave ME money on that one…

    never mind…

    :-)

    Eddie

  • Agneta says:

Freebie gatherer will never approach a rifle to take a shot. They’re too scared of the bang.

I got my middle-of-the-night coffee out my nostrils reading this. Thank you very much. ;)

This reminds me of an early morning a few years back. Late summer, sun had just risen. I crawled out from an old, huge spruce about to make a fire when I saw a telling tip of a tail moving behind a rock. A raven had seen it as well but it didn’t know what I knew. It descended to catch whatever it thought was edible and met the killer clutching of a lynx.

I’ll never see a thing like that again. It was also hilarious even if it wasn’t a honey badger. :D

You Rock! Tell off ClickBank. Sue her for lying. Refund is all right but never lies.

  • jan says:

Go the Tiff!! And yes I was already snickering before I saw the snickering sentence. I can’t believe she wrote such a good comment on your blog and then aksed for a refund! And she obviously just doesn’t get the whole process!

  • jan says:

PS – Plus she misses the whole concept of becoming one of your affiliates and so expanding her “stock” while making money!!

  • Hmmmm looks like by the LONG list of comments here that you have loyal customers who KNOW who you are and see this person for who she is…just a whiner. Hey…we all get that. I’ve encountered it in my coaching biz. Some people…really just HAVE to complain…that is why they are miserable to begin with.

I had a coaching customer who signed up with me….I physically met with her for hours, helped her set up her blog, even GAVE her a WordPress Theme I had developers license for.

Then I was busy for a couple of weeks (which I notified her of – because I was traveling for my biz, and MOVING…not to mention I have FOUR kids…). Next thing I knew I had someone telling me she wrote a BLOG about me and how I basically abandoned her. Wow. Really? And that is the cliff notes version! LOL So you see there is one in every crowd.

I feel sorry for those people because there really is something wrong with them.

In so far as YOU are concerned Miss Tiffany…I have to say that I have been an online marketer for over ten years. I have spend thousands of dollars on courses….and mentors and gurus and…whatever else.

I can’t tell you how much I love your personality, your teaching, your products. I personally purchased PLR ATM and ate it up in one night because I loved it so much. Made me think about how much I write and how I could actually make more money by doing PLR since I already ghost write and all…

Bottom line is this – that lady was clueless. If she wants condescending….send her over to The Bossy Redhead…I’ll give her a healthy dose. ;)

  • Janet says:

Hi Tiffany – I really empathize with is situation. People always blame others when they are guilty about what they are doing.

I was a head teacher in a previous life and had a member of staff accuse me of bullying her when I politely reminded her that she hadn’t handed in her lesson plans from the previous week. It was of course her guilty conscience!!!

  • Britt Malka says:

Some people, really… That is just so stupid, what she’s done. And very dishonest, yes.

We say that if people talk bad about somebody, it hurts three people: themselves; the people they talk bad about; and those who listens.

I hope most people will run away from Lynda if she talks to them about “scary Mrs Dow” ;-)

I bought your PLR ATM – TWICE, in fact. First as an eBook, and later as PLR as well.

We have our PLR Store running thanks to you, and we’re making good sales and getting requests for more article.

I would never had been able to do that without your book and initiative.

Hopefully, Mrs Lynda has enough money left from her refund to buy herself some new trousers ;-)

    Hugs :)

    Britt

  • Eibhlin says:

Wow! Maybe she thinks there really is a magical way to make money while you sleep, with no effort at all. (After all, that’s what so many WSOs claim, so it must be true… right..? *guffaw*)

Tiffany, I LOVE your PLR ATM product! Seriously, I started writing articles online back when Suite 101 actually paid for each post. Then, I wrote for “Write for Cash,” which paid us $15/article. Then, I realized that, if they could afford to pay me that kind of money, maybe I’d make more by building my own income-producing websites. And, I did, for as long as those niches had high-paying clicks.

Recently, reading your PLR ATM, I realized that I could turn my online article writing into an additional business that’d be more fun (and pay even better) than writing for print books and magazines. So, that’s part of the business model I’m building for 2012.

Maybe that poor, deluded woman put the report under her pillow and expected to wake up to “overnight riches” with no effort? *sigh*

Well, hey, a lot of gurus (and wannabe gurus) publish reports that focus on just one thing, and insist that — if you do it right — that’s the only thing you need to do.

Then, they get to sell you their next report, which can be summed up as, “Oops, I forgot to tell you this part…”

    Rinse, lather, repeat.

Your reports give us every essential piece, and you generously share insiders’ tips as well as optional bells & whistles so we can stand out in the crowd.

I have a folder on my hard drive called “Tiffany,” and I print out every report you write, so it’s in a binder on my (real) desktop.

Here’s my message to Linda/Lynda. The only way to establish a reliable income and a growing business is the hard way: Earn it.

And, Tiffany is one of the most 100% reliable, helpful, frank and honest people in the field.

Asking for a refund on a genuinely valuable product…? Ah, the karma of that is something Miss Lynda is going to regret for a long time.

  • Rose says:

In other words, “I was shocked and upset to discover that Ms. Dow’s course would require actual work on my part. I never saw this coming. What kind of world do we live in when one is expected to not only read the material…but actually ACT on it? Please refund my money so I can purchase another book or course that I won’t use.”

    Wow…

  • Darlene says:

This gal thinks you’re “scary and intimidating”? Jeez, she’s never met me, AKA Mean Granny. Ya just can’t win with some people. She’s looking for the EASY button, but honey, there’s no such thing. What a maroon (moron for people who don’t know the joke). Keep on keepin’, on, Tiff.

I always check your blog first thing when I get online in the morning. Now it’s time to get to work!

  • Jeff says:

The country is going crazy. You can bother me and my email all you want. I’m dumber than a box of rocks and need all the help I can get. A good thing I’ve taught my kids and now grandkids is if you wait long enough what goes around comes around and Lynda’s day is coming when she least expects it. Hank Williams Sr. sang it best “be careful of stones that you throw”.

  • George says:

Awh heck! I was going to try that ‘I’ve bought a load of stuff off of you and nothing has worked for me’ line ‘Gis a refund!’ – and now, I’ve been beaten to it! Blast!

Does that mean I’ll now have to actually DO something to make what I’ve bought work? Oh, woe is me…….:-(

  • Joe Mudd says:

Chick fight! Chick fight! Oh, sorry, I accidentally reverted back to my high school days. Sorry, it won’t happen again.

She looks like a ripoff artist to me.

She earned a good old fashioned honey badger slap down.

    • Tiffany says:

Meow! hiss! pft! I never got in or saw chick fights growing up in my school but man they’re prevalent now online aren’t they? I probably would have kicked ass if that had been my scene. lol

  • dora says:

oh my gosh, you give me a good LOL today! :D asking a refund because the seller is scary? ahahahahahaha!!

  • Stan Fields says:

What a joke, I’m a newbie on this blog, but I’ve got 8 years of experience on the web, I know how to spot when someone is genuine and when someone is a total and utter knobhead. What people like that have got to learn is, if they want to earn money online, what would they say if someone was taking advantage of ClickBank’s refund cycle just to ‘steal’ a quality product that you clearly spent a lot of time creating and is already way undericed… I despise these sort oof people… Get a f***ing grip ‘Lynda’ if that’s your real name… Sorry guys, rant over.
