    Pre-Launch List Building Tactics

    By Tiffany | November 2, 2006

As I’m getting ready for the completion and launch of my new eBook, A Writer’s Guide to Internet Marketing, I started thinking that I needed to start compiling names for a list of potential customers - writers who want to learn the business side of selling info products on the ‘net.

I didn’t have anything to offer them yet, but was working on a freebie for freelance writing. Instead of pushing my list building opportunity to the back burner while I finished yet another task, I did something a little different - gave away the first chapter of my soon-to-be-released product.

So now when anyone lands on my site Writing4Profits.com, they start to read the sales letter and smack in the middle of the page, I offer to give away chapter 1 to them for FREE. But that wasn’t enough. I want them to stay signed up until I have a chance to finish and launch that product, so I went one step further.

The day after they get their hands on the first chapter of A Writer’s Guide to Internet Marketing, they start getting a weekly tip email from me. All of the tips are geared to help freelance writers start making money and stop being starving artists or part-time writing enthusiasts.

If you’re thinking about (or are in the middle of) creating a product for a launch in the future, it’s never too early to start building your list. You don’t have to have a full-blown eBook to give away, just a tidbit here and there that’s valuable enough to keep your readers in tune with your message.

If you want to get your hands on chapter 1 (it’s a good read for writers, but also anyone dealing with info products), go to Writing4Profits.com and sign up to receive chapter 1 and the weekly writer’s tips and you’ll have it in an instant! Or, if you want to, visit my Writing for Profits blog.

    ‘Till next time…
