In Need of a Testimonial?
By Tiffany | December 10, 2007
I’m working on some exciting stuff that you, as a consumer, are going to L-O-V-E! It’s a site that’s going to provide smaller
reports that are highly targeted to specific topics, so that you don’t have to go spend $47 or more on an entire eBook when you just wanted to know one simple thing.
For instance, many of you have downloaded the free report I created about autoresponders. I got tons of great feedback on it so I thought, “Why not do this with everything - a split up IM Crash Course that shows you step-by-step how to do everything in Internet Marketing?”
This way, you don’t have to spend tons of money at once, and you only buy what it is you don’t already know. Sound good? So if you want to know about setting up a WordPress blog, you just buy that report. Want to know how to use Aweber? Just buy that one. No paying for anything you don’t need.
What gave me this idea? It was a short, yet highly targeted report by Michael Morris that was only $7 and it was all about
testimonials.

Most newbie marketers think testimonials are no big deal, but it’s actually one of the most important parts of your sales page (I
know, because John Reese’s testimonial is at the top of my Squidoo site and not only has it resulted in lots of sales - it’s also
grabbed the attention of other marketers like Yanik Silver who approached me to interview me!) Call it social proof at its finest.
Michael’s report was cheap enough that I was able to fling the $7 out without blinking an eye (one of my goals with
IMCrashCourse.com). Initially, I figured it didn’t matter if the testimonial product turned out to be trash, because it was just $7
- and to be honest, I assumed it might be since most stuff out there falls short of my expectations.
But I was happily surprised! It was well-explained and it’s something I haven’t addressed with you guys and gals yet. I learned
these strategies when I wanted to get feedback for my first eBook, and it’s worked. I actually had someone teach me this - it wasn’t as simple as sending a “please give me a testimonial” email to people.
But it’s also something people use on ME. I get TONS of testimonial requests every single day. I feel bad because I can’t respond to them all. There’s no way I can thoroughly read through everything and give my honest review to a person - there’s just no time. But once in awhile, I say, “yes.”
Michael’s report tells you how they get me (and other marketers) to say yes - and it gives perfect detailed insight into how it all
works. But I’ve also added onto it and I told him I was going to do this because I wanted to make sure it was okay with him. I’m a product snob, as I told you, and my personal style is a bit different. So if you get Michael’s report, I’ll also send you my
versions of his testimonial templates as a FREE BONUS. I’ll email it to you direct.
You know what bugs me most about testimonials? It’s how so many marketers just fake ‘em. I would rather have zero testimonials than grab a picture off of iStock and slap a random name on it with some made-up text. Yet it’s common practice and actually taught by some gurus whose ethics fly right out the window. (And I won’t even go into how many marketers hired me for sales copy and had me make up their testimonials. I only hope they replaced them with actual reviews).
So how do you get someone like me, who gets tons of requests, to give you a positive testimonial? How do you get audio testimonials on an automated system? Michael explains it perfectly and if you want to, grab a copy of my free templates and use whichever ones (his or mine) that you wish to have represent you whenever you want a free plug for your product or service.

Also, watch your inbox for launch info on my IM Crash Course. I’m developing lots of affordable goodies for you that will come with text, audio, and video - and it’ll be sort of like the PLR Mini Mart - where you only grab what you need, check out, and go!
Have a great day!
