    Pinpoint Your Geographical Marketing Efforts

    By Tiffany | December 12, 2007

We always talk about branching out in broad directions. It’s kind of like casting a wide net to see how many fish you can scoop up. But there’s an alternate approach to tackling certain consumer groups - narrow them down.

I had done some research lately and discovered that Dallas gets more searches about Internet Marketing than London and other cities in the world. So I launched an AdSense blog and I’m writing an opt-in report just for Dallas entrepreneurs and business owners.

It’s very easy to replicate this idea. I take a simple report, like my Multi-Layered Mindset of Web 2.0 Marketing, and edit it to speak to Dallas people only. So I’ve re-titled it, “Do It Yourself Internet Marketing for Dallas Businesses” with a sub-title that says, “Don’t Let SEO Companies Strong-Arm You Into Believing You Need Them. Raise Your Strategic Planning to a Level That Matches the Evolution of the World Wide Web and Cash in on Your Low-Cost Connection to Consumers!”

I changed the introduction text to address Dallas business owner concerns, like this: “If you’re a Dallas business owner or entrepreneur, trying to merge your offline efforts with the online world, then chances are you’re more skeptical than the average consumer. You know about hard-hitting sales copy from the henchmen running those local SEO companies from the barracks of Main Street or elsewhere in the DFW metroplex. You’re dangling in limbo because you want desperately to get your online site ranked high in the Search Engines, but don’t have the time to educate yourself about the seemingly tech-heavy duties of search engine optimization.”

Now I can branch out and do this with many different cities. Whenever these offline owners want to take their business online, they first go to Internet Marketing Consulting Services and add their city name to the mix. They’re looking for local help. If i can help them see that they don’t need high-dollar SEO experts, I can succeed with my own marketing business more.

How can you take your marketing efforts and pinpoint them to a geographic location? If you’re marketing dating eBooks, target dating in Dallas or dating in L.A. If you’re targeting dog training, add the city name and claim a blog to see how much traffic and AdSense earings you get. Alter your products to be geographic-specific.

I’ll keep you updated on how my own efforts go.
