Virtual Real Estate Ahead of the Curve
Back when Yo Gabba Gabba came onto the scene – parents of little ones you’ll know who I’m talking about – I went straight to Squidoo and grabbed the domain. There were no toys on Amazon for it, no DVDs for sale – nothing. But I knew there would be one day. The day has arrived!
It’s so new that I wasn’t finding much competitive AdWords information on it but I did find that there’s now about 14k searches each month for them. So now I’m building my domain.
You can always look at mere mentions of new shows, trends, etc and grab blogs, domains, lenses and Hubs that you know might turn into something in the future. Don’t wait until it’s already saturated so much that it’s hard to find a viable piece of VRE (virtual real estate). I don’t think it’s ever too saturated to compete in a niche, but finding the places to build on can prove difficult after awhile.

Hi Tiff, A variation of this approach is to wtach on various sites for up coming movies. By upcoming I mean say 6 months ahead. The movie production company websites are good for this type of information. Imagine if you had 10 lenses /domaisn realting to 2010? Did you get your issues with Squidoo resolved? I am having similar onew with Hubpages- so much so I am closing my account with them.rgds Rob
