Online Writing Obstacles

Marketers like this career for a variety of reasons. Some have a passion for sharing their knowledge and expertise with people who have the same interests or need help. Others simply want to make money and know that content is a part of the gig.

There’s no shame in that. You don’t have to have a passion for writing like I do. But you DO have acknowledge that if you want to be your best online, you need to know how to write well.

Writing well doesn’t mean like your teacher taught you. It means writing in a style that engages your reader and makes them click buttons that help you make money and share the info you’re parting with.

I hear a lot from people who want to write better. Everyone has writing issues. You might get writer’s block, not knowing what to write about. You might be slow. Maybe you have no clue how to get people to act once they read your content.

I can crank out 40 pages a day – 5 pages an hour for 8 hours. I never run out of things to say about the exact same topic and not one of the products I’ve written is a rip off of another one. And I never worry about my click through rate because I get real with my readers.

Did you know there are many different writing niches online? Some content is for email autoresponders. Some are for squeeze pages or sales letters. Some are thorough info products. And each one requires a different type of writing for you to master.

I’ve heard from hundreds of you in the last couple of weeks about what writing problems you encounter – and I’m working on the IM Writing Tips guide to help you iron out all of those issues.

Isn’t this industry overwhelming at times? You have to have the right mindset, you need to have talent, you must learn technical skills – or you can’t move up the ladder.

Before you go getting frustrated, know that you can get help with whatever area you’re lacking in. For me, technical stuff makes me fall flat on my face. So my mentor, Craig Desorcy, helps me learn. For you, it might be writing. I’ll help you with that soon.

For someone else, it could be a lack of motivation or belief in themselves. I had that problem a long time ago and The Secret did it for me. But they might need Tony Robbins or whoever speaks in a voice that reaches them at their core.

Today, rest assured that you’re not stuck. Whatever it is stopping you from that next level of success – there’s a solution for it. (And no, I don’t mean the next guru’s $197 “only 17 left” info product, either.) I’m talking about helpful people who share info free or for an affordable fee.

You just have to network with others and let them get to know you and you’ll find the help you need. Don’t be an online hermit.

One Response to “Online Writing Obstacles”

Great post, Tiffany, and I look forward to your info about online writing. I’ve written for print publications for years and can write well but you’re right – writing for the web is a totally different style. I’m especially interested in writing autoresponder series and ecourses.

The last comment in your post really hit me. I have to admit I’ve been an online hermit (I’m a hermit in “real life” too, so it’s not really surprising). But being a hermit isn’t helping me reach my goals. I have an overwhelming desire to help people in any way I can. And I can’t help them if they don’t know I exist.

I want to help people learn to use the Internet to improve the quality of their lives. Might sound strange, but consider this – assuming the Internet still exists, our generation likely won’t struggle with the isolation and loneliness that old age can sometimes bring. Cool huh?? =) Using the Internet we can create online income to escape slave wages, connect to friends and family around the globe, learn about other cultures and dispel prejudices – or simply wind down after a tough day.

Those technical skills that stop you cold? I’ve got (most of) them covered and I’m a trained teacher. Love teaching and love watching people derive joy from learning.

So the only thing stopping me is ME! Thanks for today’s AHA moment!
