OWM Affiliate Product Owner Came Through

So Jennifer advises us of how to pick a product, which I did. It’s a good product about Bearded Dragons and the owner came through finally for me giving me a review copy (I replied to one of the emails he sent out in the autoresponder). He asked that I not copy and paste the content, which is a common problem with affiliates. No worries. I’m just using it to get a better idea and understanding about this topic so I can write stronger.

Okay so today I’m going to go ahead to the next task – getting the lenses indexed. One (http://www.squidoo.com/bearded-dragon-eating) is already indexed as I said before, but I’ll go do the tasks for it too anyway. She says this method of indexing should work within hours, so let’s try it!

Signed up for accounts (free) on the indexing tools she recommends. Two at first then three more (two of which are sites she owns – not sure if this is necessary – 1 simple WordPress blog should be enough but I’ll do it her way). Now if this works, it will have been WELL worth the time investing signing up for accounts and taking these steps and you can rest assured I’ll be going back and doing this same process for all my lenses. Oh I can see a Tiffany Dow Social Networking on Squidoo MEETS Jennifer Ledbetter’s One Week Marketing MEETS Craig Kaye’s Info Product Killer formula stirring around in my diabolical mind! Mwuahahahaha!

She gives step by step screen shots of the first of the 5 sites but you’re on your own to find the links and steps for the others – I’m fine with this but those who are new to the ‘net may need more handholding. For two, I’m simply adding links. For the last three, I’m writing three blog posts.

Okay did the first blog post. This is basically a network where the owner gets money off your blog post. He has his ads and links in the content but you get to build a backlink. If you’re going into a niche full steam ahead to dominate, I suggest you build your OWN blog content – but if you’re going to skip around, these will work fine. The first one says it’ll take 3 days to get approved. If they approve it with 5 links to my lenses in the 1st paragraph as she suggests, then ‘ll be surprised. Looks spammy to me, but this isn’t my system so I don’t know if it’ll pass.

On the second blog she suggests I was approved and published instantly. Find my entry here: Health Problems With Bearded Dragons. Hmm I wonder if my post here to there will skew my results? Oh well, I have to show you what I’m doing so go for it. My Tiffany Dow blog doesn’t have that much pull lol.

I’m gonna be honest here. I wonder how much of this is “effective and preferable” as opposed to just self serving and profitable for the author of One Week Marketing? I am NOT saying it’s her intention, but two of these article directory blogs are owned by her she says – I’m assuming the second and third.

Her ads are all over it, so whenever you post an article (FREE for her), she can make money on it. Kind of like EzineArticles.com. It’s very smart marketing – auto set up, people contributing for her (there’s no waiting for approval like EZA) and she makes money off your work. I’ll have to let my skepticism and cynical nature take a rest for a bit and let the system work for me. I just want you to know I don’t go into this thinking ANYone is 100% above the board unless I know them real well. Note: Jennifer has a very loyal following of people who just love her to pieces. This is primarily WHY I splurged the $77 on her product – I have a feeling she’s an above the board marketer but until I know someone personally, I don’t take anything they say for granted and I don’t go off the reviews of others – even if 100 people email me saying she’s the coolest girl on earth. This is just smart CYA marketing advice from me to you – don’t trust anyone 100% (not even me – not that I’d do anything to screw you over, but how do YOU know that?) – trust YOURSELF.

My third blog post was auto approved too – find it here: The Biggest Problem in Caring for Bearded Dragons. I definitely can’t see the average person working the entire lens building and indexing all into one day. I had to break it up. Now if you don’t have ANYthing else going on workwise, you could do it if you can write quickly. But I know from chatting with you guys that it takes longer to write so I see this step taking at LEAST two days. Maybe even more.

Wrapping up this section, she recommends ClipClip.org but they say that they’re not in service anymore, so that’s out. I was able to get a page on ClipMarks.com like she suggested and here’s the results of that: http://clipmarks.com/clipper/TiffanyDow/. This took a few minutes – about 10-15 maybe? For all 5 lenses. Not bad. But no step by steps for you.

There are many places where this first guide should have details mapped out. That’s my complaint so far. If you’re told to read this first, then you don’t KNOW unless someone else tells you, that the steps are laid out later on in other PDF files as others have told me. So I’m not even reading ahead – I’m doing it the way Jennifer tells me in the Read Me file and working from that viewpoint.

    Tiff,

Interesting linking strategy, especially given that Clipmarks has a PR6. Once you get it set up it’s very easy to use – and fun!

I was on the fence about trying out the One Week Marketing system, but the inter-linking ideas might be worth trying.

I’ll say one thing Tiff, you get top marks for Effort :-)

I hope you get the pay-back you deserve once finished.

    Pete.

    • Tiffany says:

LOL by payback Pete – what kind of payback do you mean? I could get negative payback for being brutally honest about the negatives in this program. lol

  • Looking forward to this one:

Tiffany Dow Social Networking on Squidoo MEETS Jennifer Ledbetter’s One Week Marketing MEETS Craig Kaye’s Info Product Killer formula.

Yeah I really noticed about recommending the articles on the three sites, two of which she owns. I fully realized she would potentially make money off the traffic they get. However, she is upfront about them being hers so it didn’t bother me at all.

It isn’t like it’s unusual for ebooks on IM niches to recommend products/whatnot that ultimately make the ebook owner more money down the line. Not sure why you became concerned about it to be honest because it’s a very common tactic to bet more back-end $ from the ebook sale…

    • Tiffany says:

Hey Clefty – the reason I point out the ad revenue is that all she says is, “two of which I own” and I know newbies – they don’t know that means “two of which I’ll make bank on as you beef up my website.”

LOL I didn’t say that was her sole intention, but I was just “thinking out loud” as I always do with case studies. I recommend stuff with an affiliate link too in my eBooks – my thoughts were wondering if it was truly effective OR if it was intentionally set up to help her make money. However, her system WORKED, so I don’t care what the intentions were since I got my results in the way I was looking for.

Hmmm, this is VERY interesting. I bougth OWM back when it was $47 and I have to say, I only did one full campaign. I was so overwhelmed with learning the background information that I got frustrated. And yes, it’s a ton of writing, but I know that’s a huge element with many onlnine ventures. However, I didn’t make any sales off the campaign, but again, I only did one! It will be interesting to see your “shortcut” manual once you’re done with this experiment!

  • Clefty says:

Tiff, that was my thinking too. If it works, it’s worth it no matter how much money she may get out of it in the end :) I have set up accounts on the three sites and I’ll try them with my next campaign (and probably go back and use it for my first one too)
