5 Ways You Can Make the Warrior Forum a Better Place

Hi everyone! I LOVE the Warrior Forum. Let me just get that out of the way. But I see things I’d love to change (but can’t cuz it’s not my site) and things I see people are afraid of or dislike about it, so they don’t utilize it at all.

I’d like to take this time to share 5 tips on how you can make the Warrior Forum a GREAT place for you and other like-minded individuals.

1. Let people get to know you – warts and all (oh and if they dislike you, that’s their loss).

I see people complain that they don’t feel comfortable there. Well, introduce yourself! Start participating in discussions. Make friends. If you are a wallflower anywhere, you’re only going to be asking, “How soon can I leave?”

2. Be a big girl or boy and realize that while there are lots of scumbags in all forums, even this one, there are lots of good people, too.

I hate it when I see disparaging comments about “Warriors” in general.  Hell I can go to a CHURCH and find a bunch of creeps there, too! There are bad people everywhere – and the sooner you recognize that not everyone’s out to get you, the better. That said, trust no one without due diligence into their character. I’ve found a bunch of people I admired to be phony scam artists there – broke my heart – but I also found a bunch of great, ethical people, too!

3. Be vocal about injustices, will ya?

Don’t be scared to sound off in a WSO or put someone in their place with your own opinion in a forum thread! I’m not talking about being rude or mean or uncivilized. I’m just saying, you can disagree with old timers and mods in the forum if you have an opinion.

Do it right – or you’ll find yourself banned. That would suck.

4. Help people – even if you don’t think you’re “guru” enough to live up to the job.

There are so many people posting there, terrified as they hit that submit button. Reach out and help people whenever there’s anything you have an opinion about. For instance, I help people with my own opinions, even if it goes against the grain of half or more of the members there!

5. Don’t be an ass kisser.

I hate ass kissers. You don’t have to cozy up next to someone on Warrior Forum to be liked. This isn’t middle school. Just like whoever deserves it – including brand spanking new newbies. And dislike who you dislike – even if everyone else seems to be lodged permanently in their backside.

6. Reward good and honest Warriors!

One major problem is the WSO section for many people. So if you find a WSO that is good, go POST on it. Ethical marketers don’t ask for feedback in the WSO, but scumbags do. So they drive traffic there and those WSOs get the little flame folder next to them, and it causes MORE people to go buy it.

I did this the  other day with Peg Baron’s Article Starters WSO. I had used them before, knew they were great, so when I saw a Tweet by her about it, I popped in and left a positive message.

We tend to speak out too much about what’s bad – like if you get ripped off – but stay silent or praise someone via email when they do something right. Show your support for the good people with Thanks to their name and comments in their specials. Recommend THOSE people to your friends.

The burden is OURS to bear in helping make the WF a better place. I already love it – but my one little comment for Peg isn’t going to create the tsunami of recognition she deserves for her great product.

Choosing Your Ethical Leaders

Hi everyone! I’m a little sad today with some things that I saw. Whenever I see something that excites me as a marketing leader, I can’t WAIT to share it with you.

But it’s different from people who looks at something like a wolf looks at a chicken and drools over how much money can be made with it.

Don’t get me wrong – I like money, too.

But let’s take Pinterest as an example. I have been using it, sharing ME – my real interests, my true likes and preferences – my REAL wish lists.

So I realized that my friends who didn’t know about this could also build their brands there. In fact, some of the flagship members have blog posts and host courses once in awhile about branding your business on Pinterest. I created a nice little $1 course on Pinterest for people – a combination of PDF and video.

But then a different kind of marketer starts hearing about it. The wolf kind. They truly don’t care about keeping the community clean. For them, it’s all about money. How much can they make selling you the information, and how much can they make abusing the system before too many marketers get onboard and mess up the place.

I have been searching around to see what else was out there – something aside my own Pinterest course. I found many things being talked about in regards to this site but nothing ethical – well, it was the minority.

What are other marketers teaching?

  • To use bots to follow as many people as possible. (Gross!)
  • To use Fiverr to pay for people to repin your stuff to their boards. (How phony!)
  • To hire a VA to sit on Amazon and post your affiliate links all day, every day. (So nothing REAL about you, eh?)
  • To STEAL other people’s pins and manipulate it with your own link. (Bad ethics!)
  • To make a bunch of fake accounts on Pinterest using local business names so you can rank high in the SERPs and then charge them to own the account.  (FYI this is against the TOS!)

UGH. Double UGH!

I don’t understand WHY they feel that kind of stuff is necessary? It’s just NOT, period! It’s not necessary to “Game” the system, people!

ALL you’re doing is ensuring it has a short shelf life!

It’s not what I teach in my course. I teach sharing of yourself – your REAL preferences on books you’ve read or hope to read, clothing you think is fashionable, sayings you feel are cute!

You can STILL build a brand like that – you can STILL share some of your things and benefit from it, but as Pinterest themselves say, “try not to use Pinterest purely as a form of self-promotion.”

Oh well. Prepare for a big, fat smackdown on the site because there’s no way they’ll tolerate a flood of spammers. Sigh. It’s a shame so many marketers feel the need to promote this type of garbage.

And here I was looking for more GOOD resources on it. What a waste.

New Stroke PLR

My sister Jeni, who is currently a teacher with a health background from college (she has her Masters), has been trying to follow along in the 365 Day challenge too. She’s “doing it afraid” as I like to say – because she made the bold decision to leave her job at the end of this year and work from home full time. She has a membership site idea ready and will put her health knowledge and superb writing skills to work on her PLR site.

She made a decision to come down to Texas this summer to spend a week getting a crash course coaching lesson from me. I’ll teach her everything technical that I can in one week. Takes courage to abandon a career and make a new start, so I hope she gets to know you all and vice versa so she can have the support of an online community.

I told her that since I have a ton of health niche customers, to let me know whenever she finished a pack and I’d pass along the info to you – her writing is identical to mine, if not better, and she’s like me about plagiarism – it’s just not gonna happen. So here’s her PLR pack she released this week:

Stroke PLR

1. What is a Stroke? – 416 Words
2. Facts about Stroke that Could Save Your Life – 416 Words
3. Understanding Your Risk Factors of Stroke – 421 Words
4. What Is Stroke Prevention? – 414 Words
5. A Stroke Is Often Treatable – 441 Words

You can buy the Stroke PLR Pack for $5 here:
