Putting Myself on a Schedule
By Tiffany | April 24, 2008
I’m half man I think.
You know how men are able to put nose to the grindstone and work continually, obliviously to time and whatever’s going on around them? I used to not be that way. I had a house to run - kids to raise, meals to prepare. The usual mom tasks.
Lately, I’ve been spinning my wheels - and while I was working from 6 AM to 11 PM, a 17 Hour Day YIKES, I wasn’t getting as much done than if I’d kept my hours reined in and given each project a laser focus for a shorter period of time.
So I met with my dietitian yesterday and she says the root of my eating problem (right now anyway) is that I take 1 break. And during that 1 break, I eat a LOT. I’m trying to make it last because I’m exhausted. Of course, eating once means my metabolism is low, too.
So today starts a new schedule:
6:00-7:30 emails, blogs, bank account balancing, forum check-in, etc.
7:30-8:30 kids to school, breakfasts made, etc.
8:30-10:00 Build customer Hub Pages
10-10:30 Snack break (metabolism)
10:30-noon One customer project (I can get a lot done during this time)
noon-1 lunch break
1-2:45 A different customer project
2:45-3:15 pick up kids and snack
3:15-6:30 A different customer project; tasks for my CPA
Quittin Time!
Then I’ll eat dinner at 6:30 and snack at 8:30 and then sleep before 10.
Whew! Let’s see how much I get done this way.
