    Don’t Spread Yourself Too Thin

    By Tiffany | November 10, 2006

As a writer by trade, I can’t tell you how often an idea pops in my head. Whether it’s walking down the aisle and I see a woman who fits the ideal traits for a character in the fiction novel I’m working on, or a new concept I learn online that I want to share in a non-fiction info product.

Today I had a good friend knock me upside the head and get me back on track because again, I started going off on tangents in a million different directions before I’d finished my first product - A Writer’s Guide to Internet Marketing.

Without his guidance, I’d be scurrying around to create a new website - new articles, new bonus reports…all while letting my almost-finished eBook fall to the wayside. It’s no wonder so many ‘net marketers give up - it’s too easy to get excited about profit potential and move from one concept to the next without ever completing a thing.

I think my friend was apprehensive about reining me in, but I told him I’m glad he did. For if it wasn’t for his focus, my actual profit potential would be that much farther out of reach. Once I’m a seasoned veteran, I’m sure I’ll be able to focus better (won’t I?), but until then, still in my newbie status, I’ll rely on others like Craig at We Help Newbies to gently guide me back on my path to success.

Everyone needs a mentor…a friend…a role model that can help them make it in the world - no matter what industry they’re in. And even halfway around the world - from my home in Texas to Craig’s in Japan, just having someone reach out and offer assistance can be lifesaver.

      Tiffany,

Sounds so familiar. I often find myself excited about new strategies and want to explore them in depth. The problem is that as you say I get spread too thin and nothing really gets done. I did discover something that helped me focus and it’s free. Simpleology, which is produced by Mark Joyner. It is a great system. Check it out if you have time. It is a daily thing and you only need to invest around 15 minutes per day. By the way I love your writing and I discovered your sites from John Reese in his RR. Keep up the good work . Stay focused and keep your eye on the target.
