    Thanks Tiff!!

I do read through the Amazon page like you suggested, but the who/what/how helps. I just need to work on the filler part I think.

Hey Tiffany, I’m still really struggling with the “hungry crowd” concept when it comes to physical products. I was told by a “guru” during a webinar that the product I was promoting wasn’t one that he would promote because he didn’t see a hungry market for it. Yet, a product that he sells that I’m trying out (sends you keywords lists once a week) sent out a recommendation to promote pasta makers. His criteria is to promote things that people think about all the time, a pressing problem if you will. I’m not seeing where pasta makers are going to be a pressing problem. Can you comment on this and give me some perspective? I really enjoy your insight and since you promote quite a few amazon products which is what I’m trying to do, I thought you would be the perfect person to ask. Thanks!

    • Tiffany says:

Hey Mary! He may be right or may be wrong. While I wouldn’t automatically think of pasta makers, I wouldn’t have thought about toilet seats, either. You need to do some keyword research. Then look on Amazon and see if there’s a decent number of reviews (maybe 20+?). Don’t just do kw research for pasta maker but also by the name of them. It’s not a household item IMO but what was it you were trying to promote?

  • Mary says:

[edited by tiff] They were on the best sellers list on amazon and over 100 reviews. I wrote articles from a college student or apartment dweller point of view (based on the reviews, and what they were saying). I’ve gotten almost 100 reads in about 10 days. One article has a 33% CTR and the overall CTR for all five articles is 21%. All but one of the articles made it to page one of the google serps. Thanks!

    • Tiffany says:

Mary ignore the “guru” – it’s a good product and I’ll edit your reply and block it out in case you didn’t want to disclose it.

    Tiffany,

Regarding the web 2.0 stuff, do you think it’s worth putting any effort into old Squidoo lenses that I already have, ie. optimizing them for this Christmas season? Or do you think it’s a lost cause?

Also, since I don’t have the funds to invest in numerous domains, should I spend time creating new IPK lenses? I was able to buy a domain for a mother site with IPK but can’t purchase any more sites right now.

    Thanks for the input.

    Jenny

    • Tiffany says:

No it’s not a lost cause. My lenses still do well. If you don’t have domain money, then YES! Build lenses – they work great at Christmas.

  • Clefty says:

i hate when web 2.0 sites do that. squidoo randomly locked a top ranking lens that was #2 on google. it was for an IM course and my review of it. They wouldn’t really tell me why but now a different lens for the exact same product is there. it’s ultimately no different than my lens but now holds my spot!

I didn’t make any real money from it lately since the course is older now but it’s still a pain!

    HI Tiffany,

Your Top Toy site is very Clean…Looks Really Good…..Did you create that with Network Blazer????

    Thanks,

    Golden Girl

    • Tiffany says:

Golden Girl yes I used NB. On the banner header, I DO have a video and I can’t find it! LOL. Basically, I use paint and powerpoint. I screen capture images and cut and paste them into paint and save as a png. My video should be here on my site and on YouTube. I must be missing it.

  • Golden Girl says:

    Oh….ONE more Question…LOL!

Do you have a video on how to do the imagae banner at the top of your sites????

I actually have network blazer but I don’t see where to make the banner header. I’m not even sure if that’s what you call it….lol

I purchased it from your link..fyi anyway, Can you tell me where to find that info ????

    THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH!

  • Golden Girl:

I found it hard to work the system Tiff uses, so only used this for the first few sites. (Sorry Tiff!)

I recently instead found a thread on the Network Blazer forum that gave the link to a free software that is absolutely PERFECT for the Amazon action banners, and also to create the Blazer site headers…. SO SIMPLE … one short video shows all the training you need.

    Get the download here http://www.xheader.com/index.html

Just remember to set the SIZE of the new header EXACTLY for NB (it tells you the size on the upload page) or the header wont fit.

For Amazon product sites I don’t use/modify any of their header templates available, I just create them from new blank templates.

And I especially love that I can create and save templates in the system (other than the jpg png images that you download when image is completed) so I just open up my favourites and change them with
    1. a text / brand update and
    2. slide in the new amazon graphic… and
    3. save a jpg copy… all done

… really fast and simple now. And look much, much better than my earlier attempts at headers – lol!

You will LOVE this free software… set the size you want, type your text, upload your pics… everything easy to resize, add effects, add borders, add text shadows, the video shows it all.

I’m having trouble with the sizing…..where did you say I could find how to change the size…I tried to put a new header in NB..but it’s too BIG….So I don’t know how to change the size…lolo…..

Thank You so much for your help!

  • Golden Girl says:
