Reinventing Your Role
Earlier today I was moaning to my mentor about how I hated being pigeon-holed as the Squidoo expert when I felt it wasn’t all I had to offer. In fact, it was a tiny portion – I just happened to be one of few people in the Warrior Forum using it regularly and I wrote the 1st short report on how to do it. Suddenly, interviews and JV offers poured in and the next thing you know I was the go to Squidoo expert. I was relieved when other marketers took over that role, to be honest with you.
That was fine then, but it’s not fine now. If you’ve noticed, most of my marketing tutorials for the past couple of years have been more about broad-based marketing – primarily for newcomers to this industry. And there are a few seasoned marketers who just like my style and are following along. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to brand myself now. What do I want to be known for in the long run?
Some of you may remember me considering launching a women’s marketing club – I got into the product creation of it but I didn’t feel right – I have a LOT of male followers, so I would be shutting out half my demographic. And I enjoy the interaction with the guys, too! They’re a fun bunch. So I abandoned it.
You may have to reinvent your role as a marketer too at some point. It’s not that I’m wishy washy about it – I just have a lot I want to accomplish. I like teaching total newbies what an autoresponder is, or exchanging ideas with other advanced marketers. I like introducing new concepts to people and providing cheap writing via my PLR Mini Mart.
Right now, I have my hands in too many cookie jars – literally and figuratively. So I’ve decided that starting tomorrow and through the month of August, I am going to step back and decide what I want to pursue more heavily. Instead of doing a little PLR, a little info product training, a bit of social networking tutorials – I will decide what makes my heart go kerplunk and follow that dream full steam ahead. I need a drawing board with a plan, Stan! And I’m going to get it.
But I need a clear head for it. This month, I worked my butt off paying off my August bills ahead of time. I know it sounds odd to those without a problem, but I have to spend a lot of time on losing weight, too. It impedes my thought process. I can’t explain it – it just does. I’m happy in every way in life except my weight – and I have 100 pounds to lose. A mountain.
So I am making this next month (starting tomorrow), a period of back to the basics for Tiff. I’m going to wake up each morning, check email to answer customer service questions, etc., and then work on my weight. While I’m exercising, I will be exploring my options, thinking hard about what fulfills me – not just what makes ends meet or allows me to profit more. Right now, I can’t even multi task between weight loss and work. It is exhausting because exercise drains my energy and I need energy to work. I need my head to be clear and focused.
I would also love to hear from those of you who follow me what YOU need from me. Does anyone ever ask you that? What do you currently get from me – or wish you did – that I could help you with? For instance, do you like how I do step-by-step guides for you? Do I motivate you by being truthful and not like the “make a million dollars overnight” creeps? Do you look to me to see which social networks are viable? Or how to write? Or what?
I don’t want my name to be synonymous with Squidoo anymore. I want something more. And I’m willing to (and not scared to) take a step back and see what the best path ahead is for me. You may need to do the same if you’re feeling out of sorts. I’m not lost – I am just on too many paths at once.
Tiff

Good luck on your losing weight project Tiff, hhmm… I guess I need to lose some too
Thanks Roseli! It’s not just about weight loss – a big part is, but it’s more about just getting back on track with everything. I can’t even make a training video without staring at my 3 chins. That sure doesn’t make a “confident” impression, does it? LOL
Hi Tiff,
Many thanks for being so honest, and telling us where you are going and why. That is why you are so successful.
Good luck with all you do in August and looking forward to seeing what the new Tiff has in store for us all.
Take Care
Andrew
Hi Tiffany,
I had just determined that I was recreating and starting my business over with clean slate. I have been attempting to build my online business since Jan 08. I am goal mapping for myself and daughter. I completely understand and am with you on the weight loss. I am going to friend you on spark people. Perhaps we can support each other. Take care and I am very excited for you.
Tracey (@traceym09 on twitter)
Well good for you for taking a step back – we all need to re-evaluate ourselves and our lives every so often.
Just a few comments about your weight loss project: if exercise exhausts you, you’re doing too much or the wrong kind or (more likely) not eating enough. Exercise should energise you. And it’s something that you’ll need to do for the rest of your life, not just while you’re losing weight, so it’s not going to be a case of “I need to spend time exercising WHILE I lose weight and then I can stop”; it needs to be something you can do forever.
I have been loving The Slow Down Diet by Marc David (subtitled “Eating for Pleasure, Energy and Weight Loss”) and I stopped “dieting” and started ENJOYING. Whole different mind-set and this morning I look a whole size smaller!
Andrew and Tracey – thank you SO much! I appreciate your support. I ust saw 59 comments of support and got all teary eyed. Plus, an email inbox stuffed full. I sure love you guys. Isobel, at 265 pounds (today) and for someone who sits 24/7, ANY movement is exhausting. Literally carrying laundry from my room to the den makes me out of breath. I used to be very active – as a golfer. I am planning to return to that – carrying my clubs and walking and all – once I shed some of this baggage. Wish me luck!
Hi Tiff,
Congratulations on your decision to take better control of your life. I’ve struggled with the weight loss issue quite a bit and finally discovered what I believe is a really effective solution. In fact I’ve just written an e-book and am in the last stages of finishing my site.
If you are interested in reading about the Glycemic Index I’d be happy to send you a complimentary copy of the book.
Best of luck on your new quest.
Bob
You have to take care of yourself first sometimes Tiffany. It shows a great deal of character to come right out and share it like you have today. Nice job and well done.
Your fans will stand by for you. The new habits will take effort to develop and I have the greatest faith in your ability to get it done. Keep on keepin’ on and keep us posted…blog posted!
Hi Tiffany, It’s nice to see such refreshing honesty. Good for you, going after what really matters. I have no doubt you will do whatever you set your mind to.
Hope you enjoy the next 5 weeks – you’ve earned a time-out!
BTW I hear the paraliminal Cds are good for weight loss. I’m planning to try those, I’ll let you know if I do.
Bob, I appreciate the offer. I got a ton of website links, eBooks, etc., as you can imagine. I have my plan though – I worked with my nutritionist for 6 months 3 times a week on learning normal eating habits. I pair that with Sensa and exercise.
Tom and Danielle, thank you. It’s hard to expose yourself like this but with such wonderful people and so many people suffering from the same thing, it makes it easier to go on this journey. I decided on 30 days. tiff
Tiffany,
I have no doubt that in September, October or later, you will look back on this August as an august month.
Great success.
I was going to query you later about the right font for my O Brother!
ebook, which am going to offer for sale next week. Could not find the answer on your Building an EBook Empire. Did I miss it? Will look again.
Times New Roman? Helvetica? Arial? I like the look of the TNR.
best of the best,
Nancy
p.s. have tried to submit this 3 times but nothing seems to happen. Apologies in case it shows up 4 times. am going to try it one more time then will just e-mail it.
Sorry Nancy – I have to approve all comments thanks to spammers
I like TNR too and I alternate between that and Arial, which most marketers use. It’s up to you, really – just don’t make it too small.
LOL! Tiff, are we Twins that were separated at Birth!?!?!
Ditto, ditto, ditto…. or almost, if you know what I mean.
Now, about your questions….
I love your honesty, simple step-by-step instructions – that actually work (made $15+k so far following your manual, thank you Tiff!) – and of course, the quality of your writing (not many of your products I don’t own).
When you come back online, we will be waiting, and I’ll be just about ready to pick up your new product pack for “ex” etc etc as you promised, and hopefully I’ll be a few kilos lighter too, and more focused as well.
I wish you good luck and a wind at your back on your journey.
Now, just take a deeeeeep breath….
Helene
Good luck with the weight losss Tiff, I’m trying to shed some myself at the moment.
I also came to a crossroads in my IM career and I’ve taken the summer off to help me make the decision. (Having lots of fun with the grandkids instead lol
You’ll come back full of vigour and new ideas, look forward to hearing them
Kim
Go for it Tiff, taking a step back and deciding what YOU want is a brave thing.
Most of us just get caught up in the moment and go along with it, giving all of our time to everyone else and trying to fill their expectations.
Giving time to get yourself in shape and focused will turn you into even more of a dynamo, not to mention unbelievably happier.
Having that burden off your shoulders will just open the world up to you even further.
Good luck,
Kristy (Sissy76 at the WF)
Helene – thanks for answering that! I hope you have great success with your mission too
Kim – sounds like most everyone is doing the same. We’re not alone!
Kristy – it does get scary, especially doing it publicly. My husband left me an email this morning that said he was here for me. Love that man!
Good luck Tiff, with ALL of your decisions.
Sometimes it’s just good to take stock of who we are and where we want to be, in all aspects of life.
Don’t stay away too long though. I enjoy your emails, writings and information. You are one the the very few marketers who I know will send me something worth reading.Back to reading the cornflakes packs for a few weeks then!!
I never realised you had a mentor, perhaps thats just what I need to get me active, I spend far too long looking and reading, but not actually doing anything!
Ms. Dow,
I am glad you told me you are a Squidoo expert I thought you were a just a great writer, my bad.
By the way you have a typo in your blog I believe you meant 10 and accidentally added an extra zero, if not there won’t be any of you left.
Good Luck in whatever you do.
A new fan.
Hi Tiff,
Good for you!
Many moons ago (1995) I got to the point where when I bent over to tie my shoes, all the blood rushed to my head, I couldn’t breath and generally felt like poop.
At that time I decided I had eaten all the junk the Lord allowed in a lifetime and it was my time to ‘get back to basics’ weight-wise. I also quit a 3-pack-a-day cigarette habit, Cold-turkey, just to really test my resolve. I lost 70 lbs in 3 months and to this day have not lit a cigarette since. Instantly my energy level returned (within 1 week of beginning) and my entire attitude about everything improved.
So, you’re on the right track! I like your step-by-step approach to teaching. I like the special ‘extra’ content you provide us.
Thanks and Good Luck, see ya on the flip-flop..lol
Katie – thank you! I’m not disappearing for good, even during the 30 days – just will be on here less. Gotta get my butt off the couch! lol Craig Desorcy is my mentor for business. http://www.coachingwithcraig.com is his site.
Ken – LOL I wish it was 10 – whew that’d be a blessing!
Bob – I feel like that now! Good for you for making those changes. I can’t wait to feel better physically and mentally.
Hi Tiffany,
Although I need some more of your fantastic articles right now, I do understand what you’re talking about. I am actually at the same point myself…
I first came into this industry via network marketing. I spent 10 years struggling at it, then, in 1998 I had a breakthrough, “the light came on” and after not making any money for 10-10-11 years with the same company (the big A), I changed network marketing companies and was able to leave my job after 6 months on February 1999.
I have been blessed to have earned my living with network marketing since then.
Then, about 5 years ago, the network marketing company I was with crashed, and there I was broke again and with no income.
Anyway, I’m making a short story long…
I got into affiliate marketing and being a technophobe and severely technologically challenged, I really struggled with Internet Marketing for several years.
I was blessed to have found you and have learned most of what I know about IM from you, and am once again making a good living for my family.
But, now I want to take it up another level (even though I am still no where near as skilled as you and many others, I think it is time).
I’m ready to begin marketing my own products, and will still be leaning on your teachings to guide me. You are my “mentor”, even though you didn’t know it!
Anyway, I ramble on…
I know you will be even more valuable to the marketplace after your period of reflection, and I’m looking forward to your new business model. You KNOW that I’ll still be your avid student and customer!
Best of Success,
Mike Stokes
Baton Rouge, LA
Hey Mike!
I’m finishing up your stuff, FYI
I’m not 100% out of the game – just not doing any new stuff. I love being a mentor to people. It sure is a great feeling.
And I’m here if you have questions.
tiff
Tiffany
I’ll miss you but so glad you are taking time to work stuff out. I’ve loved you ever since I started following you on Twitter and I would see you smiling and waving at me every day. ALWAYS makes me smile.
What do I want from you? Not too sure yet. Though I’m definitely not a newbie I like the info I’ve been seeing from you. I feel quite passionately that there are far too many ‘must have’ product launches that urge people to spend yet more dollars on some internet wizardry that could make them money but probably won’t (because they didn’t do anything with the last doodad they bought either). People would do better just following something straightforward they understand and doing it properly rather than chasing a rainbow.
So I believe in keeping it simple and what I’ve seen from you does just that. If I can be more helpful with that answer later, I’ll come back and share with you.
Good luck with your weight loss adventure. You’re not the only one who’s been nursing the biscuit tin / cookie jar but YOU are so going to get back to your lovely slim self!
Marion x
Morning Tiffany,
Boy do I ever understand what you’re talking about!
I began a similar project on myself earlier this year as well. A warning though … some of your clients, friends, followers and even family may NOT support your goal. Some may even be downright mean spirited about it. DO NOT let them change your mind, or your heart. I’m so pleased to see you composing a new you – not that there was anything wrong with the old one – LOL!
Between you and I, doing the work is great fun (and rewarding) but teaching others how to become self sufficient, how to discover their own path, and how to free themselves to lead a life of choice rather than just dull acceptance, is what drives me each day. It seems you and I have one more thing in common.
All the best Tiffany and feel free to contact me if you need an alternate perspective on anything.
Best wishes and looking forward to what you decide next,
James
I am right there with you on the weight problem. I spent too many hours on computers and not enough on exercise. I hope you find your niche and get back soon. As a newbie still I need your help, so I hope you continue your PLR and Email package. My biggest problem is creating websites. It takes a lot of PLR’s and rewrites to provide content for the site. It is hard to find good PLR’s and a reasonable place to get plr rewrites that are good. It’s is a big problem. I don’t know if that gives you any help. I hope all works well for you over the next month or so, but hurry back and we hope you have some new interesting ideas for newbies.
Thanks Rich
Marion – that’s so sweet! Lots of people love that avatr. Love the word doodad. That about sums up many products doesn’t it?
James – I know there are some sabotagers out there. I hope they don’t get in MY way! LOL
Rich – I’m shocked to see how many men suffer, too in modern days. I used to feel like it was more of a women’s problem but now it’s 50/50 even. My husband used to not have to worry about his weight and now he has to work at controlling it. Thanks for answering the question – I don’t see the PLR ever going away.
Tiff
I am in the same situation. 4 months ago I decided to focus on my wellness and weight…lost 20 pounds to date and goal is 50-75 in total. In a simple and healthy way, no gimmick (I can share via email if you want)
It also did something for my biz/professional life, I needed to do something more exciting and not have my head in multiple chocolate boxes
and I am getting close to my goals right now.
I think the journey you are embarking will be amazing in many ways. You will come of it physically and professionally empowered.
Brigitte
Brigitte – how wonderful! Gosh to even lose 20 would be great. I lost 10 the other week and now I’m back to 265 again
Norman – LOL My husband can tell you I’m a slob. House cleaning is not my forte. He’s the clean freak in our home.
Hi Tiff.
I’m sure the weight loss is nothing you can’t handle.
I’ve got a few jobs around the house that need some attention, if you want to pop over.
Regards
Norman
Hi Tiff,
Hey don’t do a women’s only thing whatever you do!
Good luck with the weight loss, I’m sure you’ll get there.
I think we all have those times where there’s too much going on… too many plates to keep spinning. Good idea to take time out and regroup your thoughts and focus.
Gotta say, I have never seen you as just a Squidoo person. Maybe the original Squidoo Queen but so much more than that.
Good luck! Look forward to seeing you back posting again.
Hi Tiff,
I just wanted to wish you luck. I know you will make great strides. I will look forward to hearing the results of your month of work – both weight loss and introspection.
Hi Tiff
I had a similar problem a few years back – weight gain and not knowing what I should be doing with my life – just that what I was doing wasn’t it. I had started working from home, and the lack of exercise getting to work, and lots of biscuits at my coffee breaks, led me bloat outwards. I decided I wan’t going to buy bigger clothes, so I went to the kitchen and poured all my treats into the trash (had to take it out twice) and bought baby carrots, olives, celery sticks, apples and avocados as my treats. What really clinched it was realizing that I was overeating to escape my career. Good luck with the changes!
Hi Tiff,
I can understand wanting to narrow your focus. But I follow you because you’re eclectic. You paint with a broad brush and that makes you more interesting. Being a generalist is a niche worth pursuing.
Concerning your weight loss program: My daughter-in-law has lost 209 pounds in a little over a year after bariatric surgery. If you have a BMI over 40 you may want to consider this procedure.
Good luck,
Richard
I’ll bet that you will find this to be one of the more enlightening periods in your life. A break well deserved. It’s time to take time for you. You have created and developed yourself into one of the most respected people in the internet marketing universe. You Go Girl!
Tiffany, it’s awesome how God will put many of us in the same place at the same time.
I also need to lose 100 pounds and agree with you that you almost have to focus on that exclusively, but when you have the bills to pay, it’s almost impossible. But with God all things are possible.
Be blessed in all you do.
Tiffany
I am in the process of rewriting my Twitter Bio and found I have the exact same problem. (Light bulb instead of Laser.)
Perhaps this would help – I would like to send you my 7 Week eCourse (in Beta form – ha ha) as a Gift. It’s called “The Ugly Duck Makeover”. I believe you will get a lot out of it because there are 7 Steps that take you to a new place – “Self-less-ness” which is how you are totally empowered to be YOU. If interested, let me know.
Tiffany. I’ve been quietly following you for months, mostly because I like your writing style and clear explanations. I consider you more of a “writing guru” than a Squidoo queen.
As for the weight thing, I have a friend who is a very successful businesswoman who struggles daily with the weight issue. It’s a very complex issue that goes deep, I know. Best of luck with that, and I hope you get to a place where you are happy with how you look and can focus on other things. (Just for the record, I think you’re gorgeous!)
Thanks for all the help you’ve given me along the way – your expertise is invaluable.
Lynne
Hey Tiffany,
I had the same problem with the weight. Sitting if front of this computer will do that. Being a Golfer I just started walking every day. Funny, when my doctor ask me what exercise did I like.
Personally, looked at he as if he was crazy! then I remembered when I used to visit my Grand Parents and my grand mother was a busy body. She was always sending me to the mail box.
Check it out, they live in North Carolina and that mailbox was about 1/2 mile up the path, in 95 degrees of heat.
Well between that and playing golf, I will walk! Normally, around noon everyday, simply go for a five mile walk. Trust me, that weight will come off. A walk around the Golf course is about 5 miles also.
Good Luck,
Jimmy Clark
Hey Tiff,
That’s great! Soul-searching can be an amazing way to regain (or boost) our confidence and refocus ourselves on the things we are truly meant to do.
I recently had sort of a Revelation with my business by simply talking with my fiancee at the beach, and it will change my life forever.
I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for and more…including a bunch of cool new clothes! =)
You can do it Tiff.
Have a great August. It sounds like we all have a lot in store from it. Take care,
Kyle
Hey Tiff,
I’m sure whatever you choose you’ll come out the other side as the go to expert of that too…
Look forward to it because I know I’ll learn a ton as always. As long as you’ll be available to answer all my annoying questions through email when I get lost. LOL
Good luck with everything!
Troy
p.s. Even if you did start a woman’s marketing club, I’d probably ask to join that anyways.
Hi Tiffany
I know you will succeed with your goals (whatever they may be). Just look at what you have accomplished so far! I am in the same place …I need to concentrate on 1 area that makes my heart sing…AND my issue is not my weight but Type 2 diabetes and food choices…so I can feel for you!
You asked what I need from you…my biggest problem is self discipline to follow through with what I have started…
You asked what I need from you..in 1 word…SUPPORT…and you already fill that need so enjoy your renewal experience and come back to us feeling better…
Tiff, good luck with this endeavor. I recently took a step back and reevaluated my goals too and it was a good move. I’m sure this will be good for you too.
Bruce
makes me want ta hug the hell outa ya
Troy – no more chocolates in the mail! LOL And I’m always here for you, you know that. I figured many men would join but I didn’t like shutting out a gender.
Connie – husband suffers from that too. Wish you luck in meeting your goals on that. I’m still here for supporting you anytime you need it.
Bruce – thank you. I hope I get a clear focus for my business – it’s equally important to me as my weight.
Bill – (((hugs))) thank you. I feel it!
Tiffany,
Don’t let your weight be your constraint. Your work is awesome! You treat your customers right and everybody loves you. Do what you love in Internet marketing and I know you’ll be highly successful.
I recently went to Las Vegas and saw a performer called Big Elvis. He was over 500 pounds and when he got the job he weighed almost 900 pounds. He lost almost 400 pounds in the last 3 years (without surgery).
He sounded a lot like Elvis. He said he always wanted to be an Elvis impersonator, but he thought that no one would want to see a fat guy singing on a stage.
Someone finally talked him into doing it and he’s a hit. The people love him. If he would have let his weight hold him back I wonder what he would be doing now? I guarantee it wouldn’t be something he loves. You can Google “Big Elvis”
Do what you love and don’t let ANYTHING stop you. Keep making those training videos and forget about a girls club, I don’t want to have to change my name. LOL
Brilliant! You’ve successfully mastered the art of goals and to-do lists if you’ve planned an entire month to re-focus.
I commend your drive and what is shaping up to be total follow through…
Good Luck Tiff! Writing and working from home has been my dream come true and you were a large part of it from the very beginning, but I too have seen my business go in a direction that has kept me crazy busy and has definitely put on a lot of extra weight that I’m not used to as well. I know what you mean by feeling mentally impeded by it. I wish you all the best in losing that weight and finding your new path.
Hi Tiff,
It’s really interesting to see you express this ~ I’m in a very similar situation myself. I’ve been feeling the same way, that what I’m doing isn’t exactly what I want. I was feeling terribly wishy washy that I’ve done all this work to create what I have and it turned out to not be “quite right”. I suppose we only learn by doing, but I’m reinventing myself this month too! Good luck, and I’m sure we’ll love the new Tiff when she comes back.
Jackie
John – I try not to but it is. I don’t think my customers care about seeing me fat but I care. I make a video and all I zoom in on is my 3 chins. I’ve turned down tons of money and opportunities because I’m a hermit because of the fat. LOL about the name change – no girls club, I promise!
Mike – thank you. I am so pumped up for it I could barely sleep last night.
Valerie – thank you hon. I know with friends like you I have a ton of support out there to help me!
Jackie – SOOoooo many of us are in this boat. Read through all the comments here – my email inbox is stuffed too. Good luck on your reinvention! It’s a good thing I believe.
Sounds like a great plan Tiff! August is a perfect time to refocus and prioritize – a month before the kids start back to school and well enough in advance of the new year to structure future internet activity. Hope to see more step-by-step guides from you when you return.
Tiff,
I write a later post on what I need from you and what I get from you. But over the last year I went from north of 300 lbs to now in the low 250′s. I used Jon Benson’s 7 Minute Muscle and Every Other Day Diet. Both are great resources with good research backing everthing up.
Bravo, Tiff! What a terrific thing to do. Not that you need it, but you have my total admiration and support. You go girl!
Tiff, so glad to hear that you’ve decided to take the time for yourself – the internal ZEN makeover – because you know it’s time and it’s gutsy, too.
Thinking of you…waiting for your comeback…:-)
Lou
Hi Tiff,
I first found you through your “Building an Ebook Empire” – What impressed me was your no-hype, easy-to-understand “behind the scenes” wisdom and straight talk. So whatever you decide to do, please keep that!
I have to say I am disappointed that you decided not to move forward on your women’s marketing club. I was really looking forward to that! Frankly, women trying to enter into IM do not have a lot of women mentors who are also moms, making it in this business.
I do understand and admire your need to refocus your business and to concentrate on your health/weight. (A book I would recommend is “The Fat Resistance Diet” by Leo Galland, MD. It talks a lot about the hormone leptin and its role in weight loss/gain. It’s not your traditional “diet” book. You don’t count calories or carbs. Comes with recipes. Dr. Galland is a great guy and really knows his stuff!
Th other hot tip I can give you is to keep a food diary. For your eyes only – nothing fancy, but write down everything you eat. Studies show people who keep a food diary can lose up to twice as much weight as those who don’t.
If you want some support/encouragement around this, just email me!
Best of luck,
Vonalda
Shy – I agree! I have limited time before school starts (it’s why I nailed down 30 days). Thanks for answering my question too.
I feel I can connect with women without shutting out men with a complete membership. For example, I can still do a report for women only, but to run a membership site would require 100% of my focus, and it would mean zero for the men and I have too many men customers who are my good friends – I couldn’t lock them out. Thanks for being there – I appreciate it
Chris – thanks for the WL tip. I’m doing Biggest Loser DVDs, Sensa, and watching hunger cues. 265 today – ? in 30 days.
Dave – thank you and you have no IDEA how much I need it. Sitting here tears streaming down my face.
Lou – Yes! That’s what it is – an internal Zen makeover!! What a wonderful way to put it.
Vonalda – I will keep that I promise
Good luck Tif, in all the “re-do’s”. Egads, I realized the other day I have the same weight hurdle to overcome, but have too many “yes, but” self-imposed barriers between me and a regular weight loss. One of those, “yes, but” is walking my Great Dane. We walk 20 minutes or so 3-4 times per day, but he doesn’t want to do aerobic walking ss he has to stop & sniff every 2-3 feet! lol! By the time we get back, I’m too tired to go back out! Another “yes but” is I have to get some money in! Anyway, enjoy your time off. I just became aware of you in the last 8-12 months, and like your style. I discovered you because of your Squidoo persona, but whatever else you become, we’ll all love, too! I hope you’ll continue to offer your writing services in some form. My inspiration moments come as flashes in the shower, or during random housecleaning chores. Will you be following a specific weight loss/exercise plan w/ a trainer, or going it alone, or? Have fun w/ your time off!
I kinda know exactly how you feel. I need to lose about 50 lbs and between trying to get an online marketing business going, and working a full time brick & mortar business with my husband, (most days are about 12-16 hours long), there is never any time to exercise. I did lose about 20 lbs over the Thanksgiving through New Years holidays because I had some time off, (it is amazing how much weight you can lose just running up and down 3 flights of stairs 4 and 5 times a day), but I gained it back after I went back to my regular schedule.
The thing that I love most about you Tiff is that you are accessible. As an almost total newbie, (I’ve been online awhile, just spinning my wheels from not knowing what to do), I have found that you will answer my questions.
Right now I am in a balancing act, my husbands business is seeing a huge slow down due to the economy and I am trying to generate new streams of income, through an online business. So I am on a very tight shoestring budget, and I can’t afford to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on my business right now.
You have given me information on how to build a business spending about $200.00 startup, in your Work at Home Truths ebook/tutorial. You treat me like a friend, and I really appreciate that.
I hope that your reinvention includes that accessiblity and that you will continue to help us newbies who don’t know what the heck we’re doing, grow a profitable business in a truthful, economic fashion.
I know this is long, and you can edit for length. I just wanted to add that I also feel that I can trust you. You won’t tell me to spend money on something just so you can make a buck. I thank you for that.
Good luck with both of your endeavors and I’ll be waiting for you on the other side of August.
Tiffany, I look forward to seeing your reinvention. I have only recently come across your site so I am unsure exactly what I am trying to learn yet. I would like to find the fastest way to focus on only one thing in order to make a bit of income and help me to drive other things. Good luck in your new direction, I know that you will come up with something awesome!
Susi – I love Great Danes!! Such amazing beasts. That has to be a workout. LOL. Thanks for answering my question too. I don’t mind being a Squidoo pro, but I’m more than that was what I felt was missing. I will come back with ghostwriting I’m sure – but it’ll be limited. I’ll post more about my program and journey on the blog later after I exhaust myself LOL.
Mary – it’s hard isn’t it? I can’t multitask between work and weight loss. I just can’t. Not at this extreme level. What you like about me won’t change – I’m here for you via email. I will never be non-accessible. It’s what I love about this business.
Larry – I have lots out there to get you started. So by the time you get through it, I’ll be back! LOL.
Jen – Yeah I hit 39 and felt it too. I like Tiffany 2.0
Good for you! I just went through something similar (think hitting 4-0 had anything to do with it?) where I had to step back and figure out who I wanted to be in this business. Part if that is taking better care of myself, too.
Kudos to you and best wishes on becoming Tiffany 2.0
Wow, what a great question to reflect upon. You really do know a lot about many subjects and your opinions are very important to us.
As someone who is not new to internet marketing and am way pass buying every new thingamagig pumped out of the IM shoot each week, I usually buy products of folks who has had long term success and specialize in a particular area of making money online.
I think at this point, focusing on being the master of a particular type of tool (i.e. Squidoo) and selling tutorial products about it, will eventually produce diminishing returns for the product owner for various reasons.
I know Squidoo has kind leveled out a bit. Not in terms of being effective but the uncertainty with who they’re choosing to use their resources.
Perhaps focusing your new brand with an actual way in which newbies can make sustainable income, maybe a more effective use of your energy.
For example, I know you are a whiz with earning money with Amazon all year round. With millions of products, Amazon is second only to Walmart in terms of retail size, and is definitely a name worth associating with in the long term.
I guess what I’m trying to say is either create a membership site with all of these business assets you have OR…Associate your brand with a type of online income source like: Amazon, Ebay, Clickbank, PLR, Short Reports, Adsense, Lead Brokering, etc.
Hope this helps:)
Well, making such a committment to weight loss and announcing it to the world is certainly a big first step. I know that “finding balance” is something people are always talking about, but I also know that in my life making BIG changes often requires shifting things out of balance temporarily and really focusing on the “mountain” we need to move.
Good luck with your endeavors. Not to sound like a pushy marketer or anything, but I do know a couple of things that can help boost your metabolism, give you more energy and decrease your appetite.
Also, I find that when you do at least 45 minutes first thing in the morning I have a lot more energy for the day and I am better able to focus on my writing projects, but if I workout later or do too much with weights and no cardio, my energy is zapped and I need a nap. Hope that helps!
Hey, Tiff:
I applaud your decision, and envy your resolve! I have found myself in a similar situation lately, and have been doing the “what do I want to accomplish” self-evaluation as well. I wish you the best of luck — and will look forward to hearing what you will be up to when you start the next chapter.
On a similar note, I am trying to give up Diet Coke “cold turkey,” and I think August is going to be a LOONNNGG month.
Sunshine – yes and see I didn’t think about that at the time – it was just such a hit it was hard to resist. lol Your insight does help, thank you! I totally get what you mean about the money-marketing connection. Any “how to make $” report sells ten times as many how to (do something technical) reports.
Allison – It is intimidating. I’m about to hop on the tread in just a sec. I am having coffee and sifting through blog posts and emails first. It’ll be a big motivator!
Traci – Ah Coke products – I’m addicted to real Coke. It sucks. They make them so goooood.
Best of luck. I follow my passion with passion. Dog Shows. Fell in love with them at 16 years old. Everything else is just stuff. I mostly get from you inspiration to get to writing. I don’t yet. Most of what you’ve put out is way above my non-techie head, but I’ve been very pleased to see what there is out there. I have in mind what I want to do, but like you I’m so busy juggling the pins that I don’t get to doing it. I WILL though. I hope you come back even better than ever.
Hey Tiff-
All the best on your 30 day “reinvention project”. I think we all need to take a step back occasionally and take a good look at our “path”. Way to go!
FYI–I went on Medifast a year ago and swear by it. Not cheap if you go with the whole counselor “package”, but worth every penny IMO. I lost 30 pounds in three months and like 34 inches. Easiest diet I’ve ever tried. Have kept the weight off so far and feel GREAT!
Good luck!!
I went to Craigslist and was able to pick up a TotalGym for next to nothing. With that 3 times a week, and walking the rest of the time, I am slimming down. If you get your husband involved, the both of you can complete a work out in less than an hour and a half. And you don’t have to leave your house! It should be fun! Take care, Gil
p.s. I just finished reading William Least Heat Moon’s book, “Blue Highways” and it was very inspiring. It will make you think of “things” in a different sort of way.
Hey Tiff!
I think you’re making a wise decision. I have been fighting the weight issue myself and I use to be thin before Internet Marketing.
I’m just getting started on Hip Hop Abs and the treadmill. I don’t like treadmills, so I listen to a audio novel by Dean Koontz to make it more fun.
Stay strong!
Hi Tiff I’ve lost 37 pounds and it took a year. I see you are doing lots of exercise.I still have 20 to go so I’m right there with you.I was on a medication that did it so we cut that but my breakfast is an apple with all natural peanut butter(pour off the top oil)Must have protein at every meal.cheese hard boiled eggs work. I’m also under a docters care and take metaformin. It has something to do with insulin and does curb the appetite. I also exercise which I hate. But swimming has proven to be the best and you wont injure yourself in any ways. even just walking in the water to get started. I use a mask and snorkel so I can swim without putting pressure on my neck or shoulders and just swim back and forth. The first time you get out of the water you will really feel your weight. Then after months you’ll lose weight and get out of the water and not feel that pull.Don’t try to lose to fast. 2 pounds a week is plenty.I still have a gut but I’m slowly working on that. Good luck. You’ll enjoy playing with your little girl when you can move more. And you’ll make that video!!!!! or whatever your heart desires.Oh its ok to pick a day and have something you like so son’t feel guilty when the urge hits you!ps if your cat is over weight switch from dry to wet food. The dry food is just too dence the vet says. My cat is losing weight with me.All my best,Gail
About all I can say is…
You go, girl!
About the exercise draining your energy… That will pass as you get accustomed to the exercise. You will reach a point where a workout that used to use you up will leave you wanting more.
See you September…
Tiffany,
I am on track to losing the pounds myself. I do a few things to exercise, but have the most fun with the Wii Fit. Oh and check out hungry girl.com.
Kudos for taking the time to focus on you.
Best,
Michelle
Tif,
I know how you feel about the energy levels, and I am going to be starting my workout routine also soon, scratch that.. today! One thing that you are going to find is that your mind will clear and you will not feel as exhausted when you do keep your workout routine consistent.. what I mean by that is workout on a daily basis. You should vary your workout from day to day to get the maximum benefit of your workout. It may seem it is just the opposite for a bit, but keep at it and you will find it will help you focus on the tasks at hand later. I wish you luck, and I will be following your updates when you get to them!
To Your Success,
Clint Anderson
Good luck on the weight loss, my wife has just got back down to her pre pregnancy weight and is now 30lbs away from her target.
She is definitely feeling more confident and happier about it all. It is making me feel a bit guilty as I have definitely got “Internet Marketers midriff”.
I look forward to seeing what your planning board brings forth.
Good luck Tiffany on your “reformation” month. I know the difficulties and challenges of focus and inaccurate branding. And, weight loss.
Let me make a small suggestion on the weight loss: include a “water on stone” element – come up with some simple exercises to do while you are waiting – - waiting for the microwave to do its job, the elevator, get an earpiece for the phone that allows some movement, ie., “drip” away the lbs. with movement. Put a small handweight next to your computer. Small actions can yield big results – - but it takes time. Be
kind to yourself in the process and be well!

Smart choice, Tiff. Almost 4 years ago, I was sick and tired of how I felt and looked. Losing 70 pounds became about more than looking good, I restored my health, banished high blood pressure and feel energtic every day. Its a blessing that I want you to enjoy as well. That’s why I am so passionate as a health coach because I know the difference that good health makes in work, family and personal satisfaction. As an added bonus, you’ll write even faster because mental alertness increases with good health. You go girl!
Hi Tiff,
First, as you can see by my name, I AM a guy and as far as I’m concerned, judging by your beautiful “head & shoulders” pic you look great!
As far as all that exercise, I understand that that’s a visious cycle – it typically uses up your energy resources (like the wrong fats), but then you end up feeling hungry and end up on an involuntary binge. So the answer is some exercise for sure, but look at what you take in. Fruits and veggies au naturel, meat & potatoes, & yes – butter! Things to avoid include most manufactured food, which contains stuff they don’t want you to know about (like “may contain . . .”). And a great rule to follow is the old 80-20 should/shouldn’t!
I am like you in that I’m having a hard time getting focused on what I should be doing, and finishing my project at the URL above. Maybe once you’ve done YOUR FOCUSING, let us all in on your conclusions and the how-to’s thereof!
Take Care!
John
Hey Val – I do need to move more. I like those tips! I plan to play a lot with my daughter and get OFF this couch!
Kathie – I know you did it. I want to be a success story too. I am happy you know about the mental awareness I was mentioning – I miss that clarity. It’s like I’m in a fat fog. LOL
John – awww thank you! I wish I felt that way
I’m great about fruits, veggies and lean meats. I think my main problem is zero (and I mean that literally) movement. I wake up, walk in here, and go to bed later. That’s about it! Good idea about teaching the focus thing when I get back!
Paula – thanks for answering my question and the well wishes
I hope I succeed!
Bravo, Tiff! I think it’s brilliant of you to take some time and focus on your personal goals and ponder your next steps.
I love your step-by-step guides, and all your thoughtful, considered advice and suggestions. I look forward to seeing what you do next. Best of luck with all your endeavors!
What a wonderful and courageous idea! Take a month off for a personal project and review! I love that! and yes, will be planning a month like that soon for myself! and will be anxious to hear your report, too! Wow! A whole month! Brilliant thought! Wishing you much success on that weight project too. That’s high on my list too!
Hi Tiffany,
I liked your blog topic very much. Its very interesting to see how the trends go and labels.
Fruits in the morning up to midday, toast at 10 if you are hungry, lunch – veges on top of the ground salads etc and dinner, veg and meat, or carbo and veg, in other words don’t mix meat and carbo together. This a very painless way of losing weight, my Mum lost 7 kilos in a week without even trying after a lifetime of battling with diets. Much success to you my friend! best Victoria
Hi Tiffany,
It sounds like some time off will do you good to re-energize. I completely understand what you mean about the weight, I too am struggling to lose weight and feel that it is holding me back. Good luck!
After going through 3 at a time and replying, I realized how late it was getting so I read the remaining 17 blog comments and approved them without replying. Rest assured it touched my heart and I appreciate every single one. It was hard not to sit here another 30-40 minutes writing. But off the couch I go. Fat to lose and stuff to think about! Will be back later
All the best Tiffany,
The hard part is reinventing your role, at least it has been for me. I didn’t do what you are doing, take a full month to really make the decision and my efforts the past 2 years on what was my primary blog shows it.
Think I’ll follow your lead and simply stop, re-evaluate what really makes my heart sing and go from there.
You’ve inspired us all and whatever new role you choose, it will be the right one.
Georjina – yes, even if it’s not for a month, maybe just 24 hours – it helps to stop and get direction if you know or have a gut feeling that you’re not doing what you want to be doing.
Kathi – it’s a real hazard for the work at home group. I hope maybe I’ll have some good insight to offer on that front when I’m done.
Dennis – I do appreciate the offer but as you can imagine, I got tons of them. I have worked with my nutritionist locally but her site is at http://www.nutritionparadox.com – and I’m using Sensa which I love and exercise. I think I’m all set – just needed time off to “git er done” as they say.
Kaye – I’ve never done it before but it SURE is freeing! Waking up this morning and knowing I had a new job. Me!
Dianne – thank you SO much! I appreciate that. The emotional support is big for me, trust me.
Hi Tiff,
I can totally relate to the weight loss saga, since I’ve started working online I’ve gained 25 lbs. & I was already overweight. So good luck, as they say, one foot in front of the other, and before you know it you’ll be svelte!!!
I just wanted to Thank you for all you do, I enjoy the heck out of your blog & have purchased many of your products, they have all been very helpful. Good Luck with all you’re trying to achieve during August. I Look forward to what will be coming out in Sept.
Tiff,
Just sent you an email. Give me 3 months and I’ll help you get to where you want to be.
Dennis
Congrats Tiffany on making a decision like this. I love taking sabbaticals and figuring out what’s really best for me.
Your health regimen sounds wonderful. I’m sure you’ll feel a lot better physically and emotionally at the end of this month. I love my Tai Chi classes, and am learning to do the gym thing with enthusiasm myself.
Here’s a book I’ve found really helpful. The Adversity Advantage, Turning Everyday Struggles Into Every Day Greatness, by Paul Stoltz & Erik Weihenmayer. Best wishes Tiff.
Kaye
Good luck with everything Tiffany. We will be looking forward to your updates and progress. Changes in your life can be a good thing! I am behind you all the way. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with or anything I can do for you!
Personally, I enjoy reading your step by step guides. Good luck!
Rafael
I can understand what you are going through, and I wish you the best. Losing the weight is the hardest part, but when you energy comes back, you life will renew itself and you will be yourself again and be happy with yourself and the world. And I’m sure you will fine what you are looking for in the internet marketing area. Good luck and don’t be to hard on yourself.
William
Tiffany, as someone who has many plates spinning and tries to FOCUS on what matter, I commend you for taking the time for yourself!
I’m sure you will have clarify and a refreshed sense of yourself soon.
I also believe in the law of attraction and know that as you place clarify and focus on those things that you are drawn to, you will send a clearer message out and receive that back 10 fold!
As an ongoing client of yours, I’m going to put in my vote that you continue to do custom writing
I’m rooting for your success whatever you decide!
Susan
Good for you Tiffany! You have been an inspiration to me, and have been someone I have always looked up to. You take the time to really offer advice to people, and you deserve only the best!
I know that losing weight is a struggle – I never used to worry about it until after my first daughter was born, now it is an every day struggle.
You’ll do great – and I will be watching to see where you go with everything.
Take care of yourself, and everything else will follow.
Marie
Hey, Tiff…
What a gal! Your emails are gold to this digger and I personally LOVE your step-by-step-leave-no-stone-unturned-or-piece-of-the-process-out info manuals. I’m off to buy another 1 – the Ebook Empire one; know I’ll love it and perhaps THAT will be the key for me.
As for the diet/exercise thingy; this granny is working on her last 60#. What has always worked for me is 1/2 hr. of “me and God time” in the am prior to a tall glass of room-temperature H2O with some lemon in it (great for flushing out toxins and moving the “movables” if you know what I mean) followed by a soundly nutritious breakfast, light lunch, then an even lighter dinner. I keep this in a habitual format – i.e., at the same time each day – and integrate morning stretches and light exercise to get me going (some Yoga or Tai Chi), stretching and brisk walking at Noontime and early evening “real” exercise to great music – actually I do all my stuff to music because it helps the time pass quickly and I can get both momentum and cardio rates up without noticing it.
Lost 40+ lbs. in 3 1/2 mo. doing this. Slacked off. Will be “back at it” after grandkids start back to school. Just thought I’d share.
Good luck and I’ll look forward to your emails when the re-invented “you” returns! =)
Rafael – thank you for answering that! It helps a ton.
Your regimen sounds great! Good for you for already losing 40+ pounds! I can’t WAIT to see that on me!
William – Thank you. I do beat myself up sometimes. I’ll try not to.
Susan – I know you’re a hard worker. You know I strongly believe in the LOA and you’ll always be welcome on my roster
Marie – Thank you! My 1st pregnancy was where it all began – emotional eating. I was an unwed mother.
Allyson – LOL! I love that – gold to this digger
Tiff,
2 of the people I’ve trained are in the new P90X TV infomercial that runs night and day on TV. Their results have been jaw dropping. No silly ab machines or diet pills. Nothing but good ole fashioned hard work.
I’ll soon be running my workouts in Myrtle Beach SC…48th street, on the beach. Free admission. Look me up if you’re ever out that way.
.
All the best to you,
Dennis
Oh Myrtle Beach is beautiful! Good luck with it. I have no doubt that you can do it with your proteges. I just can’t right now – but believe me, I sure do appreciate the offer. It means the world to me that so many people reached out with their ideas, tips, ebooks, personal training offers, etc. It’s like hitting the jackpot!
Tiff, have a great time. You deserve it. And, I am sure you will be back with a fully re-charged battery and better than ever. I wish you and yours the best.
Thanks Philip and Mike! I hope Tiffany 2.0 is a good version without glitches LOL
Leonard – that was one of the best compliments I have ever gotten!
Peggy – thank you. I do truly believe a slimmer me will be a smarter me.
Jonathan – I agree! Everyone needs a sabbatical.
Lisa Marie – thank you! You and others have inspired me to tackle this monster head on.
Valerie – I am getting way more comfortable with video so maybe I will!
Nicholas – I welcomed the competition because it was overwhelming being the only person for Squidoo. I didn’t ever plan on that being what I was known for. I was more about helping people develop info products and get them launched. All the little details. And along the way, I’ve learned some traffic tips, content tips, etc., that can help others so I pass them along. I feel good doing this.
Best of luck with everything Tiff, You’re an achiever so set your mind to it and get it done.
I learn something everytime you send out an email.
Hi Tiff,
I’ve got to tell ya, you’ve always been a marketer I trust and respect for being honest. It’s like a breath of fresh air. You’ve always been there to answer my questions, and I’ve tried to follow the trail you’ve blazed. You get stuff done faster than any marketer I know and you’ve inspired me to work harder and faster as well.
I wish you the best and I say that with a smile on my face because I KNOW you’ll accomplish what you’ve set out to do. I look forward to hearing from a slimmer Tiff and I’m curious to know which direction your clear business head will take you.
Cheers,
Peggy
Hello Tiff,
You have an awesome blog! More important than that though is I think you are doing the right thing. I support your decision a 100%. Why? Because I believe that every business person in certain situations should take time off.
If that is what is necessary to get back on track. Why not do it? So, I want you to know that you have my full support.
It is what you need to regain your focus. I have had to do that myself when I got overloaded with too much work. Scientific research proves that your brain needs at least one day a week to just to take a mental break doing nothing but relaxing.
So, that may be what your brain is telling you.
I am so excited for you, Tiff!!! This is so cool – on both counts! Which are, as you say, so interwoven. Marilu Henner likes to say that “Everything is connected to everything” and it is so true! She is another person I’ve learned a lot from in regards to health and weight loss. Her ten steps are awesome.
Best of luck to you – have a wonderful August and I’ll be thinking of you and wishing you well!!!!
Tiff,
Really like your step-by-step manuals and perhaps you will do those in the video format in the future. Whatever you decide on I know it will be brilliant! I also agree with some other comments, you head shots are beautiful!
Good for you to take time out to focus on your health goals. Good luck with with your fitness program and re-invention plan! Go for it!
Go girl!
Good luck for that marketing make over and your conscious efforts to re-invent yourself. Are you doing this because you don’t like being a Squidoo expert any more or simply fade up with several experts who’ve mushroomed over night?
Though, I don’t see you only as an expert on Squidoo, I can relate to that desire to re-invent your business.
Frankly, I see you more as a writer and marketer than just an expert on Squidoo. Whatever you chose to re-brand yourself, I hope writing remains a major part of business.
I’m into trading and eBay, maybe I need to mirror your make over and stick to one thing that makes my heart blush.
I’m sorry to hear about this, just when I recently learned about you. I’ve been reading a lot of IM ebooks and articles recently, and you are by far the MOST inspiring writer in that area. And to be honest, I had never heard of Squidoo until you mentioned it, which makes you my Squidoo-idol as well…
I wish you all the best for the next couple of weeks, be well, I look forward to your returning active presence online.
Tiffany,
Best wishes for your reflection time. Just remember, the world is your oyster, hey?
Regards,
Chuck
Hi Tiffany,
I’ve only recently found your blog, although I’ve followed you on twitter for a while now.
I think what you’re doing is really wise. It’s easy to get caught with your fingers in so many cookie jars because – if you’re anything like me – there are so many cookies that look good!
But I’ve been going through something of the same thing… in my case, I’m looking for people to add to our team though, because I really like all the pies I’m in. And I was going to change the metaphor – but the first one that popped in my head was pies… also not a great one, especially for those of us who are trying to lose weight! (It’s funny how many “good” things are associated with food – but if I get started down that road, it will take too long.)
I have one suggestion while you’re rethinking your branding – and that’s to think about what you’d like your business to look like at the end. When you’ve “arrived” – when you’ve got the lifestyle you want – what does that look like?
Here’s my example: I’ve always loved living in places other people go to on vacation – and I love traveling – and I’ve always wanted to live in France. So, I added travel writing to the skills I wanted to learn and afterwards, to my writing business. And now I not only live on the French Riviera, but I get to travel about 4 1/2 months a year.
There are so many ways your business can help pay for the lifestyle you lead – but you need to know what you want, and what your ideal lifestyle looks like, and then you can plan to add the needed elements into your business.
I’m looking forward to reading your blog and keeping up with you now, to find out what you decide to do!
Warmly,
Cheryl
Good luck Tiff, but be ever vigilant that dieting causes mental issues.
You might like to ask your fella to keep a close eye on that one for you, as you might not notice it yourself until it’s too late.
Cheers, Pete.
Congrats Tiffany! There are times when it is best for the Biz and self to sit back and be a third party observer. Look at it with fresh eyes.
Gina and I have done the same thing recently with our business and the results are shaping up in an amazing way.
My wife Gina Sprenkle-Gunning is one of those pioneers online best known as the Traffic Queen but we never focused on branding her name. It became quite obvious that that was the best course of action and everything else almost automatically fell into place.
Maybe that’s not sound advice for you but you have so much diverse knowledge to offer that a new pigeon hole may not be suited for you!
What ever you choose I’ll still be eagerly reading your work and count you among the top honest influences online…
Pat & Gina Gunning
Mary – You know I know for a fact that many people would be like, “You’re only showing $6,000 a month? pffft!” Yeah – I am. Because it’s without working. And it makes people who aren’t there yet feel better knowing it’s doable. That not everybody has accounts making “$1k a day.” I’m glad it lifted your mood
Pete – thank you for the warning. I’m not dieting. I don’t diet. I’m just eating the same things as always – just making sure i stop when I’m not hungry anymore. I don’t want to feel stuffed every day like a Thanksgiving turkey
Pat – I agree! I need to observe from afar. I’m trying to find a way to funnel all of my knowledge into a business, instead of picking one thing – but I don’t want my tasks to be scattered all day, every day. More about that in today’s video to come!
Cyndie – Thank you! I’m so glad i’ve helped you. So far, I’m enjoying the whole analyzation process.
Allyson – It does, doesn’t it? People always say that about mothers – you can’t be a good mom unless you are good to yourself, but I hadn’t thought of how that applies to business! Thank you
My best wishes to you. You have helped me a lot just through answering some of my questions at the Warrior Forum. Remember you can do whatever you put your mind to. Enjoy the journey as you work to reach your goals. Sometimes we struggle with that, but if you take your time and enjoy the travels as you are going through, the result is even more of a triumph!!
Tiff,
Thank you SO MUCH for your honesty and, I’ve shared your struggles – with weight loss & redefining your role(s) in your”work”.
I tend to focus on female, baby boomer entrepreneurs. I don’t exclude guys – they just are not my target – it took YEARS, seminars and two awesome coaches to get me here. Still not making ends TOTALLY meet, but at least I have a TARGET TO HIT each day and a focus.
As far as weight control goes, if it is ANY kind of plan (except OA), I’ve done it. The most success? Bariatric surgery 12 years ago where I lost just shy of 200 pounds. Don’t let ANYONE tell you otherwise – the surgery, the potential side effects and the commitments are NOT 4 WIMPS! I gained back 85 pounds and lost 50 in 2007 just prior to knee surgery using the 6 week body makeover program I exercise regularly and (knock wood) am pretty healthy. Want more info – please feel free to email me – you have them.
What I get the most out of your work? PLR stuff that I can rebrand with me. Awesome writing and I will DEFINITELY miss that a GREAT deal if you decide to give THAT up.
You’ve ALWAYS been kind, generous and patient with this IM newbie.
Good luck on your journey!
Val
Ah yeah my BFF had surgery like that – her sister had it and it almost killed her but she (my bff) did it too anyway. I could never do it – too much of a scaredy cat and wimp. LOL
I don’t see PLR going away. I’ll talk more about that in my video later.
Congrats on making this decision, Tiff
I think it’s awesome that you recognized the need/desire to make a change AND take action on it. Here’s to Tiffany Dow 2.99
I guess I should have read this post before I emailed you re: my Squidoo question (lol). Seriously, I never saw you as just the ‘Squidoo Queen’. IMO you’re a talented writer, content creator, teacher, marketer & social networking ‘mad scientist’.
I hope I’ll be able to continue to buy PLR content from you. I’d also like to be able to bounce ideas off of you from time to time — a forum or some sort of ‘Ask Tiff’ membership site maybe.
I wish you all the best, Tiff.

Hi Tiffany
I just wanted to wish you luck with your weightloss and sorting out your next stage of life – if you have any handy tips on how to lose weight by sitting on the computer I would love to hear them
I wish you all the best and look forward to your return – your advice is always straightforward and honest and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next
best wishes
Lisa – NZ
Judy – thank you! Yeah I could go sit in a room with a leather chair and the perfect bookshelf behind me like some marketers (LOL) but this is me – this is how I work – big butt plopped down on my couch, in t-shirts or PJs. Congrats on your weight loss! Can’t wait till I’m there – 60 pounds woot!
Sandra – uh oh! It’s a good problem to have, I know. But a problem nonetheless, right?
Lisa – I had to laugh with the visual of me sitting on the computer. LOL! I don’t know that there’s a way to do that – I’m doing 1 hour on the treadmill at first. We’ll see how long that lets me lose weight before I have to increase it (or, when my feet forgive me and allow me to do more). lol
Wise move, Tiff. I am still a newbie after a year of opening so much worthless email and trying every little new thing without paying out much money. If the big gurus are telling the truth, millions of us are rattling around doing the same worthless things. I have not bought any of your products (I should), but maybe you could rethink this whole IM business and come up with more help for us who are not getting anywhere. Thanks for what you do for us.
Thanks Bet – and I agree – it’s depressing when they’re all succeeding and tons of people are getting nowhere. In ghostwriting, they actually used to tell me not to go into too much detail. I’ll talk about that in today’s video. Grrr.
