What I Learned from John Reese Today
By Tiffany | December 27, 2006
Opened my email today to an autoresponder from John Reese about what he has brewing at income.com in the coming year. Part of what he stated is that we all need to get prepared and he starts out by asking if there are certain things you don’t have in place yet.
I have always written out a list of things to do, but I certainly wasn’t ever as organized with my to-dos as John is. Have you seen his War Room? Wall to wall whiteboard. He doesn’t just tell you what to do, he shows you - photos from his own home. He is a businessman. I’m a creative-type. I’m going to be a businesswoman in 2007.
Now I’m sitting here this morning reading his email with a STACK of stuff waiting for my attention, feeling overwhelmed, and I realize I have to get my stuff organized before 2007 happens.
So tomorrow I’m setting out for organization - everything I can grab at Office Depot - planners, files, a new desk - you name it. I need a work space. I need elbow room, not a TV tray propping up my laptop while I get cozy in a corner of my couch for comfort.
John says we need a JOB. Not a 9-5 corporate grind gig, but a bona fide job where we treat it with respect. I haven’t been doing that. And that’s probably why I go in and out of being swamped and then needing a break and swamped again. If I was organized like John recommends, I wouldn’t have this problem.
I suggest all you work-at-homers follow suit and get your butt in gear for the coming year if you’re not already. Thanks to John for the gentle nudge - or hit over the head, whichever you want to call it ![]()
