Shortlist of Trustworthy Internet Marketers

So while I have pointed out some people you can’t trust – I want to take time to let you know MY experiences with those I feel you CAN trust. Does this mean there aren’t some people out there who would disagree? No. But I’ve had people email me a hate email thinking I ripped them off – like if they ordered and didn’t realize their download link was coming in an email, so they emailed me immediately because they weren’t taken to an order page. It happens.

Here’s who I personally know cares about their customers:

John Reese. I ghostwrote for him for years. Unlike the other creeps, he spent plenty of money making sure I expanded on details for his products – he wanted his reader to get ALL of the information. Others told me to deliberately leave it out, or if I added it, they would delete it so you couldn’t compete with them. John wasn’t just a caring person for his customers. He’s one of the only gurus who ever lifted a finger to help ME move from ghostwriter to marketer and he was HAPPY for my success, not bummed because he lost an outsourcing contact. He sent me a free box with his Traffic Secrets in it. He paid me ahead of time for future projects when another top guru disappeared for weeks without paying for his project – so I wouldn’t be late on bills. He sent an email to his list about my Squidoo eBook WITHOUT using an affiliate link – because he believed in me. He’s the antithesis to greed.

Janet Wilson. She’s the owner of Empowerism.com and for years I ghostwrote for her. If I delivered an article, she would carefully pour over the information. If I’d made a mistake, she’d let me know. If I didn’t expand on it enough for her members, she’d tell me to go into more detail. She emphasized that she wanted NO unethical tactics taught to her members and in fact, she wanted to warn them about blackhat tactics and why they should never be used. Janet cares about you and your success.

Jimmy Brown. This is the guy who first hired me on Elance. He taught me what marketing was all about and not once did he say it was about scamming people (like others admitted to me). He wanted quality step by step information. He took me by the hand and showed me HOW to write better for the reader and how to go into detail and make the steps easier. He wanted his readers to have the real scoop. His products are all top notch and it’s because of his personal input and care about his reputation.

Travis Sago. The Bum Marketer paved the way for free information. The Bum Marketing course could have sold out ten times over – but it’s a freebie. Travis takes care in the creation of his products, too. This is a biggie – people who are mindful of what goes into a product want to ensure you succeed. Like Kelly Felix said, he and other gurus blamed the 5% success rate on the fact that the other 95% didn’t take action, when that wasn’t true at all.

Craig Desorcy. He wouldn’t be my mentor if I didn’t trust him. Wanting nothing in return, he took me under his wing and showed me technical details those guru friends promised they’d show me but never did. He’s done this for countless others. Now he’s running his own coaching program because he’s so good at what he does. His intention is to help you succeed, period. I’ve never met another marketer who compares to him.

That’s not ALL, of course – it’s just the guru names that come to mind when I think of good people you can trust based on my experiences.

    Hey Tiff,

I can second your recommendation of Travis Sago as a trustworthy big name marketer. He always struck me as a real down to earth type of guy. I was on his BUM Marketing Method course subscriber list 3 yrs. ago. I remember him always delivering easy to understand, high quality content about making money as an affiliate. When I made my 1st Clickbank commissions, I emailed Travis and he replied congratulating me/encouraging me to keep at it.

Here are some other IM’rs that are on my shortlist:

    Tiffany Dow
    Don (VanFossen) & Jeremy (Kelsall)
    The Rhodes Brothers
    Jack Duncan
    Jim Morris

  • Hi Tiffany,

Thanks for posting this. I’ll second your recommendations of Travis Sago and Jimmy D. Brown, all of their stuff is top notch and I do get the feeling that they care. The other 3, I haven’t dealt with, but I’ve heard of them from other people and what I hear of them has all been positive.

  • Lisa says:

Thanks for this list – as I’m getting to know you I feel you are trustworthy – so I’ll take your word on these people :) I’ve actually never heard of any of them except Travis and even then I didn’t realize that was his last name.

Can I suggest Brian G Johnson. I have, as I’m sure most of us have, bought many IM courses etc over the years. The best support, feedback and free forum I’ve been involved in is Brians. I can thouroughly recommend him.

    Regards

    Dave…

  • oh dear Tiffany, how I love your honesty. I can come to blog, read your posts, enjoy the information you have to share, envy your guts, and not have to feel anxious that someone is trying to pull the wool over my eyes.
    You’re a gem.

I want to thank Dianne Humphries for turning me onto you.
    Best,

    Thanks Tiffany

I’d never heard of Jimmy Brown before now but have just spent a few hours soaking up some of his knowledge and expertise.

  • Liz says:

Thanks Tiffany. Don’t change your ways even if some people get upset. The dishonest marketers spoil it for the rest of us.

  • It’s nice to know the good ones, but so much to learn and do and so little time.
