Socialization for Product Launch Success

Hi everyone! Continuing on with our prep for the 90-Day Product Creation challenge and today we’re talking about the importance of socializing for it NOW, not later. As in toDAY, people. Here’s a vlog about it and then text below…

The reason it’s important is that people recommend products AND people (entrusting people in your care can be scary if they value their reputation).

Don’t socialize ABOUT your product launch at first. Talk about other things. Save the product launch talk for much, much later. Get to know the actual person who will be promoting for you.

NEVER start it at launch time. That’s too late. I get emails from people who say, “Hey Tiff! Long time follower of yours. Love your stuff! I have a product you might want to promote…”

Really? How come I’ve NEVER heard of you? How come you’ve never said hi? How come you’re not specific on what you love about me so much? Because your turn product is obviously something I wouldn’t promote – so no, mister – you don’t know me.

Don’t ONLY contact people about the launch. Contact them about THEIR stuff, too. Whatever they have going on – not necessarily business. See what’s going on with them personally. Do you remember how to form new friendships? Yeah, do that!

Give before you get. Roll up your sleeves and help people. Be there to guide them and answer questions and support them in their professional and personal life.

First, find your audience.

– Find people creating and selling in your niche
– Find affiliates promoting in the niche
– Find customers of the niche

Then take those names and find them on social networking sites and get to know them.

– Twitter
– Google Plus
– Blogs
– Facebook groups

Engage in conversations. Start being a leader now – helping people. Form friendships.

Then 3 months from now when the product is complete, you announce “OMG I’m so happy! I finally released my product!” And you won’t even HAVE to ask. People will just say, “Oh we’re so happy for you! I’m going to tell everyone about it.”

Why? Because those are the kinds of things we do for people we like.

Okay now it’s time for my Sunday vlog on Monday – part personal, part business:

Tiff 🙂

  • There we go, you’ve been GOOGLE PLUSED and TWITTED! LOL!

  • Good to see ya Tiffany (Yoan – did you notice the product placement – Eternity Perfume was mentioned lol)

Funny that you should mention socialisation. Today, I was looking through a list of blogs to see which were of interest to me so that I could start meeting new people online and get more involved in the different pockets that I am interested in.

I will start looking at relevant groups that will be product related – once I decide on the subject matter.

    Thanks for the pointers 🙂

Here’s my Sunday Vlog Post Link:

LOL! Oh no I forgot to show it.

    • I know Victoria!! She’s been contracted by this big firm in Dallas ( The Ewings something….) to place 10 products a week…started with the red can and now moving onto new things such as perfume! Also, on her FB, she’s got a pic of the hole those guys repairing her broken pipe have dug…maybe the pipe never broke after all! AhahAHAHa! Who knows?? Is it all a ploy, Tiff? Come on, out with it! And lack creates demand…doesn’t vlog for a week and everyone’s after her LOL! There we go, another big marketing technique!! LLMMMAAOOO!!!

      • Tiffany says:

LMAO! I’m gonna start an affiliate program now like that. Buy from Franklin Plumbing! D’oh!

      • Debi J says:

Every time I see you out here I’m laughing… even my family is getting to know you vicariously thru me (although I’ve not gotten the same comment from my son yet about you that I used to get about Tiff…probably a good thing or I’d be in trouble!).

You’re definitely someone who has the ability to show your personality via text! Socializing should NOT be an issue! LOL

  • Ahsha says:

Gosh it was so good to hear the lift in your voice. You’re on your way up again and I can’t be any happier for you. Life is looking great for you.

You’re a great person. You are always willing to help all of us. I think most of us have been looking out for you. Time does have a way of healing and you’re off to a great start. It will just get better and better everyday.

You had lots of smiles today in your videos and it tells me that you are happier than you have been in a long, long time. So you go woman and do your thing and don’t look back. There are tons of sunny days headed your way!

    God bless!

    • Tiffany says:

Thank you Ahsha! I know when I first told y’all, everyone said, “You feel up now but there will be ups and downs.” I didn’t believe really but there sure are! Glad when it all is up.

  • Terry S. says:

    On your socialization video:

Totally agree with what you say. I would also add that it’s a two-way street – you’re looking to build a relationship that will be of mutual benefit down the road.

And, in the early stages of relationship-building, you’re putting out feelers to make sure you’ve found a person aligned with your own values and goals, someone that you’ll feel good about knowing, helping, and working with.

So, socializing starting now is a process of mutual checking-out and vetting, much like it is with real-life relationships, as you pointed out. Both people have to be a good fit for the other if there’s to be any kind of meaningful relationship.

Thanks for a great post! Always food for thought in them – good thing they’re calorie-free, or I’d **really** be in trouble! LOL

  • Ashley says:

Here’s my problem if I start the challenge am I going have to have a second blog for whatever niche I am targetting since it wont be mmo since I havent made hardly any money?

    • Tiffany says:

You don’t HAVE to but you want a blog (imo) for whatever niche you plan on leading. But that doesn’t mean you HAVE to blog daily. It can be once a week for example – or less. For now 😉

  • Karyn says:

    Hi Tiff

Great video, loved the finger wiggling (just needed faces drawn on)! I wanted to ask you – will all our training be here through your blog?

    Regards Karyn

    • Tiffany says:

Well there’s no additional specific training! We’re all just doing the challenge. Sorry for the confusion. Same as the blog challenge. If y’all have questions, I’ll answer them, etc.

  • Bonnie Gean says:

    First things first…

It’s nice to see your smiling face again and to know you’re okay! I was worried.

Now that this is out of the way…

Well, it’s about time MISSY! You were away too long and I was having withdrawals! Don’t you dare do that to me again! ROFL

Seriously, you missed Sunday Vlog day and I was bummed I didn’t have a ride to Texas so I could kick some Tiffy butt! 🙂

I did get my vlog out though! Here’s it is!

Thank goodness Victoria did one. I was starting to feel like Hank Williams – So Lonesome I Could Cry! 🙂 hahah

  • Tiffany,

It’s interesting, the more I prepare for this challenge the more I’m thinking I want to work in the background. I dunno, at times I get tired of having to network and constantly talk about internet marketing. Perhaps I need some time to just work.

Sometimes I feel like being active on the blog and creating videos takes me away from performing a service or creating content for my plr site, which I still haven’t opened.

I enjoy teaching and sharing, but I really need to figure out what I want to do and what I feel the most comfortable with. I was just looking at some IM groups on Facebook and everyone is pushing their ideas and mlm groups. That’s not what I want. I want a genuine community of people who share, like the one you have.

I’ll keep looking. I know there are others out there who are looking for someone to lead and teach. I don’t want to be sold to, but to help.

Anyway, I’m still looking forward to the challenge and am brainstorming my product.

    Be well!

    • Tiffany says:

Cynthia is your product going to be in IM? Maybe you’d enjoy another niche better? Consider that – because then you’re immersed in a group of conversations with people not talking about spam and hype stuff.

I know you feel like it takes away from serving people but you have to balance that out with socialization because otherwise you fail to build a brand and get exposure to the very people who NEED you. And who NEED to know what Cynthia is all about – what kind of person she is.

What you’re basically doing is – let’s take one of the FB groups you mentioned. You go there and have YOUR style (like I did in WF) and you might attract 2-3 people to YOUR blog who feel the same. You do the same on G+, Twitter, forums etc. Soon, everyone’s gathered at Cynthia’s blog and then you lessen the socialization because there’s a big word of mouth army out there for you 🙂

  • Debora Humphries says:

I am so glad to see you back, I was wondering what was going on when I did not get my daily emails from you.

You look so happy now and it sounds like things are just getting better.

I will have to back through and catch up on the other posts. I was spoiled with your emails pointing me to them. Lol

  • Kim Phoenix says:

Well, I’m glad I popped in to be social. LOL! You’re totally right in that you want to develop those relationships. My problem is that I get so focused and busy on a project, that I find that I run out of time to do everything. I am always amazed by how much you get done.

  • Tamsin says:

    Hi Tiff

Welcome to an elite club of late Sunday vlog post-ers 🙂

Good to have you back on board. My inbox is looking empty!

I totally agree about creating relationships … and these challenges that I’ve taken part in have enabled me to do that – it’s been great!

Got my vlog done 🙂 Woo hoo ……. here it is –

  • Delton says:

Glad to hear everything is bring you back into yourself. Those times we take for ourselves are so necessary.

Always love to stop by and gain that (20%) more like 80% of knowledge you spoke of earlier.

EVERYONE-Yes I read all the comments to; YA”LL TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES & YOURS.

    LOVE YA!

  • Buddy says:

I’ve been researching one topic that I’m thinking of doing the project about so no vlogging for me. But this Sunday vlogging is something I might just try to do.
BTW I hear you about TRYING to be the carefree self again. I bet I come across as that what with the whole Buddy Show persona. And that really IS me but it’s the underneath stuff about divorce that sometimes feels like crap.
Anyway, my last post was about markets and niches…AND I finally went through your post about setting up an Aweber form on my site so folks can subscribe! You all can see both right here on The Buddy Show .

    • Tiffany says:

Yes – and even before the divorce, just being morphed into someone I’m not was no fun. My friend Terry said you start out doing something as a nicety for someone you care about but it’s not good when it turns into a demand or a situation where people are unhappy if you don’t do things their way.

  • Debi J says:

You and I are so much alike in our friends and pasts that it’s scary sometimes.

The guy I’m with now is the first I’ve ever dated that I’ve made a conscious effort with to not spend time talking with my male friends. Sometimes I wonder if it’s the right way to go but he’s really good about not interfering with my being friends with the ones who are most important to me (and I know it bugs him but he keeps it to himself). 🙂

I love the socialization tips. It seems like a time waster sometimes just because you’re out there “chatting”, but I keep in mind that it’s important to build those relationships…. not just for my business, but for my sanity! Working at home can isolate you really fast and I remember before when I got to the point where I just didn’t WANT to get out there any more (and I’m NOT a hermit)… you get used to staying at home I think.

I’m back at it… enjoy your day Tiff!

    • Tiffany says:

Yeah from now on (woot there WILL be a now on) – I’ll only date men who can be cool with everyone.

I’ve become less interested in being a hermit. Weird. I looked back and I was never ever a hermit until this relationship. Even after I had Dylan I had a full, outgoing life.

  • Iris says:

Glad to hear that you are reflecting and realizing where you may have lost yourself and what you enjoyed most about yourself … and working on getting back there again for your own sanity.

You have a lot on your plate. I take my hat off to you because you’re working your way through it all really nicely even with all the challenges.

@Cynthia >> I would like to work behind the scenes too. Being that most of my ventures are not in IM, it does make it more feasible. With all the things I like to do and the various niches I’m working within, I want to be able to enjoy what I do without any added pressure.

So, even though I’m outgoing, I want to quietly make my money online … behind the scenes. I enjoy being a part of a community and like socializing online.

  • Most of my friends are guys too and it makes things a little difficult. It took a long time for Taylor to be okay with me hanging out with them and talking to them.

It sounds like you’re ready to start becoming yourself again. Good luck!

  • Kim L says:

You BLEW MY MIND with this video!! You totally did. I’m not a newbie to IM, I’ve been sort of a hobby girl for a lot of years (now getting serious!), and one of my weaknesses is being overwhelmed by the whole social media thing. The whole idea of getting to know others who are creating products and marketing in my niche — just a total lightbulb moment. Awesome.
I’m catching up on all the 90-day challenge posts since I jumped in late, and between this video and the product outline one, I feel like I’ve learned more than I have in years.

    You rock! 🙂
