Ask Yourself, “Am I Panicking?”
By Tiffany | December 17, 2007
I saw the stats on that site of mine and almost started to panic. Then I had a calm come over me as I listened to the sage advice of my mentor. I can fix this!
It was very empowering. I read Seth Godin’s book The Dip recently and I have to say it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read about calmly knowing when to stick and when to quit. I could have easily thrown in the towel and dumped the site, but I didn’t. It isn’t what I wanted to do.
If you start panicking, which is usually the result of money but wasn’t in this case, then it’s even harder to think rationally. As a marketer, you want to cash in quick or move on to the next money-making opportunity. But sometimes you have to stay the course and wait for the rough waters to subside before you make a firm decision on whether your current venture is worthy of a complete makeover.
