Give Your Internet Marketing Task List a Makeover

    By Tiffany | October 28, 2006

Are you spinning your wheels because each time you think you learn something new, there’s already something even newer on the horizon that everyone says is a “must-know” secret to success?

Don’t let the hype and buzz surrounding various product launches scare you away from your true business plan. The key to success in Internet marketing is to carve up your task list and focus on each element until it’s completed before you move on to something new.

If you’ve dedicated your efforts to creating an information product, then your task list should be more detailed than just, “finish writing eBook” and “launch eBook.” It should have each chapter detailed that you need to write, each step in traffic building mapped out (such as “submit 5 viral articles to GoArticles.com”), and each additional Internet marketing task that will contribute to your goals fleshed out (such as “create character blog” or “find Joint Venture partners”).

Try to keep your blinders on and finish what you started before you let yourself get distracted by the “next best thing” to hit the Internet marketing scene. These launches are designed to steal your focus and have you jump on the bandwagon before the competition scores a touchdown. But if you join the herd and abandon your marketing plan, you’ll be taking a step backward and slowing down your profit momentum.

It may be hard to get used to the idea of missing out on what appears to be a prime opportunity for instant success, but after you follow through the first time, you’ll begin to realize why you never see “gurus” snapping up everything in sight - they’re busy following through on their own product development!

Here’s to building your success from the ground floor-up!
