Ask Tiff – Your Questions Answered
I want people to feel comfortable asking me questions. Some think it’s too simple, so they’re embarrassed to ask it, and others don’t want to bother me – I’m telling you now – ASK! Below is a list of 5 questions one of my customers of Building an eBook Empire asked me (all names are kept confidential as are your niche ideas) and I’ll answer them here so you can learn, too!
Everyone Needs a Craig Desorcy
Well tonight for the first time in – oh years, I lost it. I got so frustrated that I wound up literally in tears. My 4 year old daughter is staring at me and I’m hearing Tom Hanks’s voice saying, “There’s no CRYING in Internet Marketing!!!”
Here’s what happened:
I had been working hard to clear out a stash of content I had bought but never used for my own sites. Always put my own sites last to work on other stuff. So I got my FrontPage pages done and logged into Hostgator to upload them into cpanel. Huh! Looked totally different.
I follow the instructions, which were confusing for a total tech dummy, and I SAW the files sitting somewhere in cpanel but couldn’t tell where they were – they certainly weren’t showing up ON my domain when I went to it.
So since I’ve always loved Hostgator’s live chat people, and often lavished praise on them, I called on them to help. First guy made no sense. I explained that I was a tech dummy. He kept saying he could see the file in my account but I told him they weren’t on my domain. He finally pastes a bunch of code into the chat which makes no sense whatsoever and I don’t even know what it’s for. I clicked out eventually. He was also very slow and they’re usually fast. This one wasn’t so much rude as he was confusing. Not newbie friendly at all.
Second guy comes on – asks what the problem is. I tell him what I did and he says that should work. Well it didn’t. He says, “I can’t help you if you don’t even know what’s wrong.” I TOLD him what was wrong. I had uploaded my files and they were showing in cpanel but not on my domain. I ask him if he can possibly walk me through the upload of one file so I can make sure I did it right. He simply links me to the tutorial I’ve already seen. Thanks for nothing.
By this point, I was so flustered that I exited and tried figuring it out on my own to no avail. Water works turn on, and I Skype my friend and mentor Craig Desorcy for a helping hand. Within 5 minutes I was in ftp uploading like a madwoman. He is the Internet Marketer whisperer.
I admitted I had been in meltdown mode. He told me next time to walk away when I’m like that and I’ll listen. Do you have a Craig Desorcy in your life? If not, I pray you’ll find one because my friend is priceless to me. One of a kind.
I SO appreciate you, Craig!

(breathing again)
P.S. I still don’t get the cpanel. Guess I can’t use that part to upload. I’ll stick to my FTP.
P.P.S I hope this was a once in a blue moon deal with Hostgator because they’re my favorite host.
