Should I Cloak My Links for Info Product Killer?

Another good question that came in – someone wanting to know about link cloaking for those Amazon links you create from the Info Product Killer course. I say – nah.

First of all, Amazon tracks you buying through your own link and they’ll shut your account down if you do it and they find out. So it’s not likely that they’ll steal your commission – but more importantly is the fact that most consumers don’t know a thing about affiliate commissions!

It’s highly unlikely that shoppers are going to do this. Now if you were selling an info product to Internet marketers – now THAT’S another story ;)

Info Product Killer – Domain Legal Issues

I got a question that I wanted to address here in the blog so everyone else can follow along.

“Hi Tiffany,
Yes I bought IPK and I love it. :-) I just have a question for you–if you can spare a few minutes. I know I’ll be working on IPK all day (I took a sick day off from work!) What are your thoughts on using domain names with product/company names in them? I understand the 007 model number strategy but on several occasions full product names are used such as http://www.nintendo-ds-lite-pink.co.us. I’ve always been told this is a big no-no because of potential legal issues. Can we get sued for doing this or do companies simply ask you to stop using the domain name if they don’t like it? I know you can’t give me advice but was just hoping I could get your opinion.
Thanks :-)
Amanda”

Okay so here’s my belief – and I’m no lawyer, so if you want solid legal advice, consult an attorney. But I think for THIS purpose, we’re fine. All we’re really doing is shuttling customers to buy from the main company. If they had wanted to, they could have grabbed all sorts of domains with their products in them.

Now if you happened to scoop up FisherPrice.com before they did, I’m sure you’d have a problem. I believe the protocol is that they ask you to stop using the domain if they want you to. Then if you don’t, they could threaten legal action, etc.

But seriously, I am not worried one iota. I’ll also invite the product owner to stop by if he wants to in order to address questions here. So ask in the comments area and if I get him here, he can give you his insight too.

Can Info Product Killer Be Used with Squidoo?

Second time someone’s asked me this, so I thought I’d answer. I recently promoted Info Product Killer – giving my list a special code to get $68 OFF (WSO777) – and the response was overwhelming. Hundreds bought it and those on my list learned about it ahead of the curve of other marketers.

So many people have questions and one that’s come up twice now was Can Info Product Killer be used with a free site like Squidoo instead of having to buy your own domain?

The answer is – I THINK so – but I’m not 100% sure, so I’ll test it and see. The product owner isn’t familiar with Squidoo, but I showed him how – if you type in Christmas top toddler toys – I rank #1 with a Squidoo lens. Same thing when you type in top toddler toys 2008 – I’m #1 with a lens.

I can’t give away his formula because that’s not fair to him, BUT I tell ya what – I’ll create the same (competing) pages and we’ll see if a lens or domain turns out better! I’ll replicate my system on lenses and domains – a duel. I believe Squidoo will give my domains a run for their money.

Info Product Killer – Yeah, I Paid Full Price!

I’m not sorry I did, either. Info Product Killer is one of the rare products I paid a lot for that I was happy to pay more. Check out my review about it here: http://www.tiffanydow.com/blog/info-product-killer-review/

I bought it on the spur of the moment but I am really into increasing my affiliate earnings. The best way I’m finding to make a steady income stream online is through tangible year round sales. I know I’m a big Amazon shopper myself, so I knew it would convert.

My own sites are doing well – but they’re all web 2.0 pages. He shows you how to cash in SEO-wise (very strategic and easy) and also shows a “Tiff friendly” (meaning she won’t lose her shirt) low-cost PPC method for immediate traffic.

Still, my site was indexed in 24 hours and it made money on the very first night it was created using the low-cost PPC method.

P.S. I want to add a review form one of my list members that just came in: “Hi Tiff, I bought IPK through your link and I have to tell you how pleased I am that you recommended it to me. I have been trying something similar, but not as comprehensive.”
