Ask Tiff – Your Questions Answered
I want people to feel comfortable asking me questions. Some think it’s too simple, so they’re embarrassed to ask it, and others don’t want to bother me – I’m telling you now – ASK! Below is a list of 5 questions one of my customers of Building an eBook Empire asked me (all names are kept confidential as are your niche ideas) and I’ll answer them here so you can learn, too!
7 Steps to Start Social Marketing
Getting involved in social marketing is one of the most important steps you can take to bolstering your online reputation and visibility and gaining position in the market. People often wonder where to start or how to start.
The simple answer is to start just about anywhere on the Internet, and jump in with both feet.
Case Studies Are Where It’s At
Everyone’s doing it – come on, try just a little!
I’m talking about case studies! It’s all the rage now and it’s SMART and effective! We see it all the time in the make money niche – “Watch me make $28,037.25 in just three hours!”
But what about other niches? Craig Desory at www.IdiotProofBlogging.com is doing it right – he’s starting free, blogging, answering questions – proving he knows his shit.
I’m now doing it, too – hopped right onto that band wagon! I launched my diet blog here: www.diydietplan.com/blog and I’m using myself as my guinea pig. (Emphasis on the pig – just kidding).
Proof!
We all want it. We’re all skeptical. When we all started talking in web 2.0 lingo, it was “peer-to-peer” this and that – and it still is! But it’s not enough to be just part of the crowd anymore. Consumers are onto us – they know we sneak around pretending to be one of them while flashing our pearly links all over the place.
Now, they want proof. You say you know how to lose weight? Oh yeah? How much weight have YOU lost and how did you do it? Prove it! You say you can decorate a cake in under 10 minutes? Show me, please! Otherwise I’m not shelling out a penny.
That’s what they’re thinking.
Will you answer the call or continue trudging along with text and audio. There’s a reason they say you “have to see it to believe it.”
Case studies are your starting point now. How do you do it?
1.) Start a blog – it’s FREE
2.) Start building a list from DAY ONE – it’s $19.95 at Aweber for unlimited lists – well worth it.
3.) Start social marketing about it – ALSO free – Twitter about it, make lenses, join relevant forums, build hubs – you get the picture.
4.) TALK about it. Gosh, so many people are afraid to start branding themselves as someone who knows their shit. You don’t have to fake it till you make it, but it’s OKAY to be honest and say, “I’m learning some great tricks to teach dogs and I’d like to share my knowledge with you.”
LET them see you BECOME the guru. You don’t have to be one up front. People like watching success build – and if you social market your case study, they’ll feel connected – like they’re a part of it.
My diet news traveled fast. Can’t even count the emails, PMs, and blog posts about it – and I wound up getting to talk to one of my idols in marketing (Rick Butts) because he’d heard of me and what I was doing from someone else and look what he did – bless his little heart – he Tweeted his followers about me!
I came home and saw an email inbox of Twitter follower notices from HIS followers cheering me on. This was great news. People talk. Will they be talking about you?

Cool Social Marketing Pack by Alan Paterson
Hey everyone!
Thanks for all the supportive emails, PMs, and blog comments for my diet journey – I feel so good about that even though I had a moment of panic last night after realizing I’d put myself in a swimsuit on my blog! Ack!
Anyway, yesterday amid my diet madness, I ordered this: Social Marketing Package from a great guy named Alan Paterson.
For the $97, you get:
1 Squidoo lens
1 Weebly site
1 Ning site
1 Wordpress blog hosted on wordpress
1 Blogger blog
1 Article sent to ezine articles
…All with original content. How do I know Alan? He’s one of the people who came to me during my massive lens flipping mania and I bought many of his lenses and flipped them myself. (So if I bought them, you know they were good).
Anyway, I ordered and should ghet my package shortly, but I figured I’d let you all in on it since it’s a great deal – the content alone would cost you way more, but he’s setting it all up for you so you don’t have to mess with plugging it in (a real timesaver).
Check it out!
Oh, and for those who are interested – you can follow my weight loss progress at http://www.diydietplan.com/blog – let’s cheer each other on if you have pounds to shed, too!

Nobody else is doing this that I know of. It’s a self promoting, affiliate marketing, AdSense revenue wielding thingymajigger. Everyone will want one. Few will be fortunate to get it. Well in this case, only ONE marketer will get it. lol But few for future ones.
Thoughts? Opinions? Gripes? Compliments? Spill it….

The Best Blogging Guides for Money Purposes
I love blogs. I can set one up and within 24 hours start seeing organic traffic from the search engines. I even set up a theme template with some pre-filled info and it’s funneling traffic to me from Google!
But blogging requires you to know a few details about how to set it up. You can’t just go to Blogger.com or WordPress.com and start blogging because then THEY are in control of your marketing – not YOU.
Blogs help you develop a following, so I have started digging into any and all info I can about increasing my efforts in this area.
There are two guides I’ve read to date and I enjoyed both. The first one that got me started was DELETED. Note: I was giving a review for Blogging to the Bank but recently my links going to his site took my readers to some other products he had posted on the same page. I consider this bait and switch and I’m not liking it. So probably to keep his gravity up, instead of buying a new domain per product initially and setting up a new CB account, Rob simply takes his old product to a new domain, and sticks some other product up on his site so as an affiliate, I’m unknowingly sitting there promoting some new product that I know nothing about.
If you know ME, you know I don’t promote unless I’ve personally tried it, so I feel scammed. I’m removing all references to Rob and his products due to these unethical practices. Read the rest of this entry »
