The Freaking Fantastic Blog and List Building Challenge Day 8
Hi everyone! Some of you may be on day 9 but I’m on day 8 so here’s the official day 8 post. Life happened
Talk about it in today’s vlog along with something I know some of you may wish I’d do, but I don’t want to – and there’s a reason why.
Note: My blog of the day is Thrill of the Chase Marketing.

I’ve been reading along but missed a couple days of publishing blog posts. I agree, life happens! I’m trying to keep up with checking back and reading/commenting other posts. I agree with not forcing or scheduling support – it’s just not genuine at that point.
Here’s my post for today on tips to increasing page views for your blog: http://basics4bloggers.com/2013/03/10-ways-increase-page-views/
Thanks Kecia! Off to Tweet
Hi Tiffany, Well you talked about possible disappointment about blog support, etc. which is kinda funny because that’s what todays’ blog (and vlog!) post is about – including a very short dumb song (and meme) about being disappointed! http://ematthewshelton.com/motivation/already-disappointed-not-comment-on-a-meme/
Awesome Matthew!
Well I took the day off today (on purpose because I was working on techie stuff that fried my brain yesterday!) so I’ll be back on track with you tomorrow. Here was my post yesterday: http://www.theinternetdream.com/8-reasons-why-you-need-to-build-that-list/
Hope your mom’s back is better soon, and that Scarlett gets better quick! And I agree with you about the natural sharing. I am trying to visit as many blogs as possible but if it’s just not something I am working on or if I am personally interested in then I’m leaving it.
One thing we need to remember, too, is that comments don’t mean everything. Personally, I read a lot of blogs that I don’t always comment on because I don’t always have something worthwhile to say, but I still enjoy the blog. You can have a very popular and profitable business, I think, even if you don’t get millions of comments
Thanks Ruth! Glad you’re unfrying
I need a long weekend for that, too. After this challenge perhaps.
Here’s mine for today: http://geekgranny.com/playing-with-roxys-galaxy/
and yesterday: http://geekgranny.com/anti-procrastination-and-technology/
And in the process I have learned something valuable (to me) and that is that it really is better to get it done rather than sit here and wait for a perfect idea and a perfect post. I can always go back later and add more information either to that post or a new post on the same topic.
Yes you can!
Not sure what’s going on with Vimeo. Two days ago I could watch the video from Vimeo, today it halts again after 13 seconds. LOL
I give in!
Here are my posts for the last 2 days:
Day 9:
The Duplicate Content Debate: Which Side Are You On?

Day 8:
Case Study: 3.5 Months to a Google Page Rank Score
http://www.bonniegean.com/case-study-3-5-months-to-a-google-page-rank-score/
I’m going to see if I can watch your video through iExporer instead of Chrome. It it works, I’ll be back to post again! LOL
Oh no! LOL Gremlins in the system, Bonnie!
I made an informational post about getting the freaking skunk smell off of the dog after he goes and plays with the skunks in the forest…
http://www.awesomedog.com/de-stink-your-dog-after-skunk-meet-and-greet/
Mary
Oh no! Nightmare. LOL
Life does happen, happening to me today! Here is my day 8 from yesterday but it doesn’t look like a post is going to get done for me today!
http://www.momslifeathome.com/healthy-recipes/pinterest-fun-day-homemade-almond-butter/
Yep it happens Erika!
I meant to add that I got the couponazon plugin this a.m. and added it to my site so that Amazon coupons show up at the end of the post. This is not a link here — it’s about $12 and seems like a good product.
http://www.forumspecialoffers.com/showthread.php?793-CouponAzon-Display-Amazon-Coupons-on-Your-Site
Weird! I didn’t know about that!
Thanks for mentioning the Amazon Coupon plugin Joanne. Just got a couple of emails about it and thought it would be worth the money, Have been figuring out how io monetize my blog and was going to use Amazon affiliate products…this will save me time.
Oh I am carrying my incomplete posting too far — that should say this is not an affiliate link.
Hey there Tiffany, great to see you! I wrote a (long) post to sharing about the questions to ask so you create the right information product, for YOU and YOUR peeps.
http://mamaredspeaks.com/information-products-how-do-you-pick-one
Fantastic MamaRed!
Life certainly does happen, whether we want it to or not sometimes!
I did this post yesterday but am only blogging MWF anyway, but I thought I would go ahead and share it today.
http://www.savemoneywithjan.com/buying-generic-can-save-you-money/
I’m like Kecia, I’m still trying to work my way through all of the posts that are going on. Slowly making my way through…I have found some great posts and some great sites from folks here that I will certainly take part in.
Great Jan! And yes, I’m always excited when I find a blog to follow that naturally interests me.
Life happens to all of us so it’s good to see that it happens to you as well. You are a role model to many of us and when we see how you handle adversity, it helps us to know it’s okay to take a day off when there is so much going on, or it is much needed. But, then we all get back to work and keep going, we don’t stop and give up because we missed a post or two. It’s all just part of blogging life.
Here is my day 8th link. http://www.eldercarecafe.net/have-you-selected-your-headstone-yet/
As far as visiting other blogs, I would love to check out everyone’s blog – and I did try the first day or so – but there just was not enough time. Hopefully, people will understand and try to visit those that either are of personal interest or someone they might want to get to know.
Yes
Glad it helps to be transparent Edie. I think people get down on themselves when leaders projects that it’s all rainbows and unicorns
Having your videos halt within seconds of them starting, must have something to do with Chrome. I just watched your video through Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Each of these 2 browsers displayed the video just fine. No sputtering, no halting. I love using Chrome, but if it’s going to give me problems watching your vids, I’m switching to something else!
There…. I said it! LOL
Oh cool! Well now I’ll have to track down what the Chrome issue is. LOL I watch on Chrome on my blog w/no issue but that might be because of something else w/me.
Will try to fix it for you Bonnie!
Thanks Tiffany! I appreciate you going the extra mile, but don’t take too much time out of your busy schedule to dote on my needs.
It’s just a PITA when 2 browsers work and the other decides to take a vacation on you! LOL
Bonnie, it might have something to do with your chrome apps – maybe you have an ad blocker or something else that is not letting you view vimeo?
I’ll check into that Jenn, though I don’t recall adding any new apps to Chrome recently.
It’s worthy of a look – thanks for the idea!
♥
Hi Bonnie
I use Chrome and I have no problem with Tiff’s videos. Might be to do with your settings in some way.
This blog challenges has really made me take note of what I was eating and in the process I am learning something valuable. Thanks
http://dietingforwomen.com/was-i-really-e…he-wrong-foods/
Wonderful Marilyn!
You gave me a great excuse to take it easy today as I wrote a long post yesterday for day 8.
I know my blog is not for anyone going through a divorce so no worries about commenting or anything.
I hope your daughter is feeling better and back to school soon. You are still looking so much better than a couple of weeks ago – happier etc. Like the decision was a weight off your shoulders. The best is yet to come.
Yes I think so Ana
Thank you!
Ana,
Don’t worry about the lack of comments. Some of us are enjoying your blog, but are too shy to admit it by adding a comment!!!
LOL, Robert.
That’s really nice of you. Thanks Robert
I did think it might be a bit much for social media etc but I’m amazed at what people write in forums on the subject. It makes me blush and I’m writing the blog! LOL
Hey Tiff finally back on track with everything. Hope your daughter feels better soon and that your mom’s back is on the mend.
Hate being sick and glad to be feeling almost 100% again!
Here’s my day 8 post.
http://plronestopshop.com/re-purpose-your-plr-articles/
Thanks
I feel great today Sue! Vitamin D is consistent again for me
So I feel better. The others are slightly better
I have been blogging, but I’ve forgotten to write about it here. Time passes so quickly!
I’m reviewing an excellent Amazon minisite product, and I’ve done the first four parts (part 4 today). I’ll write the conclusion Sunday, when I’m back after the weekend.
Cool! Thanks Britt
Britt,
That sounds very interesting – looking forward to reading your review early next week. I like mini-site projects.
Playing the waiting game…oh joy oh bliss.
I had 5 sales at my Yoga PLR site a couple of days ago. Two from Warriors and the others I didn’t even know about because Paypal didn’t notify me. Happy to have the sales but I sat there for a couple of minutes looking at my stats, thinking where did the money come from??
I got an amazing Warrior testimonial and one of the other Warriors is thinking about what he wants for the bonus articles. I asked him to do a testimonial based on the 10 huge articles he got from the site. Waiting, waiting
I want to have the 3rd Warrior testimonial to put in my letter for the 1st WSO I mentioned before. Hopefully it comes before Sunday, cause I won’t wait any longer than that.
Didn’t do my blog post today because I spent a Fiverr getting a fellow Canuck to fix the XML map in my blog plus one other small issue. I don’t get it?? I’ve created 6 sites maps before with no problem, yet on my last two blogs, it won’t work. So some of the bucks I made from Yoga sales went to tech stuff.
As a final note, I bought a $3.00 special guide from an IM who I have gotten stuff from before and have always been happy. Its on Kindle and I thought awesome, new info. Nope, pretty much basic stuff. However she mentioned how she hired 50 ghostwriters last year but only 10 stuck around and then she mentioned where she hired them from:
WAHM
I registered…only to find out, that stands for Work at Home Mom. Changing my name from James to Jane.
LOL There are lots of men on there James
Hi Tiff
What has happened to the world? I am actually a day ahead of you. Not usually my style
I had some requests to talk about favicons. It got more technical then I like, but everyone needs to get out of their comfort zone, right Tiff?
Link is below.
LOL Woot!
And yes we do!
Tiff,
Must be something going around…my neigbor’s 12-year-old is hacking away too. Hope your daughter feels better soon.
Thanks so much for this challenge…I’m behind on days but it’s got me updating my travel site again. Plus…I’m in a challenge with ETR so have to report each day what I have done with with improving my mind or wealth or helping others improve theirs.
Yeah it’s the end of the season around here so hopefully it’ll be gone soon
I agree with natural sharing as well. Not everyone is into the same things and it could get really boring if we HAD to go to that blog everyday.
I had EXCITING news! I finished my PLR Site. Thanks you so much for helping me the other day. I feel like Ruth, I really think I fried my brain setting the DLGuard up to my hostgator. But it all worked out. I found a great graphic to buy for this post on my blog, she is so happy! Plus its for my exercise PLR as well.
I also figured out how to give my free gifts so both of them are ready for tomorrow.
Yea! Good for you Michelle!
Life happens. You deal with it, and then it happens again
. Hope everyone’s feeling better!
Here’s my Day 8 post. It’s more of my Shoe In Money review: http://www.iminurinternetmarketing.com/shoe-in-money-review-8-some-good-info-some-confusion/
I think a bit!
No more blog posts today. In fact I have written a blog post but it is a review for a cookery book and try as I may, I cannot get the html iframe for the book on Amazon to display correctly. I keep getting a rectangle with iframe written in the middle. Anyway it is ready to post as soon as I can work out what the problem is.
However I have signed up for an autoresponder so now I have to remember how to do a squeeze page and upload my freebie.
You’re on a roll Janet!
I’m sorry Tiff I’m on a poor internet connection and can’t watch your Vlog, but from the comments I gather your Mom’s back was giving trouble and Scarlet wasn’t doing so great. I hope they get better soon.
I think I’m on Day 9…life happened and I couldn’t really blog so I took an excerpt from a book I’d co-authored. I sort of fit in with what I wanted to teach anyway. Is that cheating?
LOL Yes Mom’s back went out and Scarlett came home sick (she said the boy next to her was sick previously).
Nope not cheating – whatever you feel is good content for your niche audience!
Hey Tiffany,
Well if something is going to happen it will happen to me, when they came up with Murphy,s Law they had me in mind.
I wrote a blog and was feeling really good about it couldn’t wait to tell you. I had 22 new visits to my site was so excited, I felt that things was going well finally.
Then my first mistake was getting up this morning LOL, I grabbed a cup of coffee and headed for my computer. I went to Google analytic to check how thing was going.
I seen that I had 22 new visitor and I about fell over I usually get oh maybe 5 sometimes more but not often. The day before I had 9 which also surprised me so I was feeling pretty good.
I logged into my website and Boom in great big letters it say this website has been suspended. My heart dropped I thought OMG did I do something wrong what happened. I go to my hosting and in big red letters suspended.
I was livid by this time, so I called them up they said it was suspended for none payment. I don’t know why since its debited out each month they didn’t either someone made a mistake they said.
This is the 3rd time this mistake has been made with this company, my site has been suspended 3 times. So being the strong willed person I am I told them to cancel my membership.
Sometimes that’s not good because I went to another company and forgot it will take up to 24hrs for the DNS servers will activate.
So there screwed up again, my mother should have named me Murphy LOL,what else can happen. I’m not a drinker but I’m going to go have one anyway I need a brake.
Have a great day Tiffany and to all the other members and fellow bloggers bottoms up
. Sandra
Oh no – sorry that happened to you Sandra! I love Hostgator – not sure who you’re using.
Hope everyone is back on their feet in a jiffy and feeling spunky instead of funky! Sending lots of love and energy.
I’m spunky!
So sorry to hear your mom and Scarlett are both down. Be sure to give both of them my virtual hugs will ya?
As for the blogs, I figured out fast, even with the list that I made, that I just won’t be able to get to all the blogs everyone’s putting out there. So what I’m doing is going down the list and checking in on ones that interest me. And I figure that other people on your list have interests that I don’t so they’ll naturally head over there too.
I’m with you on the whole forced thing though…I don’t want people to come comment on my blog if I’m posting stuff that doesn’t interest them!
I’m back to work.
Oh, here’s my next post….
http://daretogetpersonal.com/blog/do-you-know-if-you-suck/
Sure will! And yes, that’s how it should work anyway – pick what interests you
I love your post today!
Good you are feeling alright, great blog post for today (as usual) about the thrill of the chase.
Today I’m posting the links to the 4 pages I loaded about IT/IM/SN etc. and I’ll get some reports published tonight/tomorrow to go in the ezine on Tuesday.
Pretty pleased that among the “About Us” blog posts, and report publishing etc I managed to get up an extra 9 pages this week.
These are the new posts after the FaceBook and Google+ ones listed earlier:

Give poor Scarlett a hug, she sounded awful in the other video.
Wow lady you are on a ROLL! She is having a coughing fit but at least it’s not like major flu. LOL
So glad you chose to keep our community open I prefer open air and open spaces : )
Working on 2 series of posts – today’s post falls into the Squidoo in Bite Size Pieces Series.
Sure can relate to those coughing attack colds – nasty stuff, give her our hugs!
Me too Marilyn
I’m not scared of video but I am scared to email my list. Here’s my post about it http://maliaholleron.com/eating-my-own-medicine-fear-is-no-excuse/
Ah you can do it!
Hi Tiff,
Sure hope your mom and Scarlett get to feeling better.
Yep, life happens and when my brother died last year, it hit me like a ton of bricks, and for several months, just barely did the minimum.
LOVE working from home! I’m basically un-employable at this point anyway, because I’m so spoiled with the flexibility and being my own boss.
Ciao! – Carol
Me too Carol! I love being able to help Mom make her bed and get food and stuff because she’s always helping me – but I hate that it’s because she’s in a lot of pain.
I’m so sorry about your brother. That would cripple me too if I lost someone I loved.
LOL I’m spoiled too. I can just SEE me in an office – they’d be sorry they hired me!
Another post done, making quite a few mistakes along the way. But am learning loads.
Once have gotten a grip on this posting thing plan to try my hand at video.
Aha! You committed
I heard that!
I hope all goes well with you and your family, Tiffany. I’ve decided to go out of my comfort zone and do some Squidoo. So, I’m not only keeping up with my regular blog, but writing about stuff I truly love on Squidoo.
I have several days’ worth of posts here that I haven’t written about on your blog.
http://waxlers.blogspot.com
Here’s the Squidoo one.
http://www.squidoo.com/planting-strawberry-plants-our-way
BTW, this is really a Freaking Fantastic Challenge!
Awesome Michelle! Pushing yourself is great
Hi Tiff! Family comes first always. I hope Scarlett is feeling better…nothing is worse than when your babies are sick. Oh, and your mom too! I hope she starts feeling better soon also.
I’ve been MIA. I am NOT getting the hang of this blogging thing and I know it can’t possibly be as hard as I’m making it. On Monday I somehow erased my entire blog and today I can’t get my permalinks to work. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I will Google or YouTube it and fix it this weekend. Gotta love the learning process!
Take care!
PS: You are looking fantastic lately…hmmm…wonder what it could be? Happiness perhaps?
I know – such big sad glassy eyes when she’s sick!
Learning is frustrating but when you discover why something’s happening and you get it – you feel proud that you learned.
And yes, very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Tiff,
Sorry to hear your little girl coughing it up there and your poor mum too.
This week has been about making money with Kindle Books. Here are my last two posts:

Hope everyone gets better soon.
I know. Just remembered the pharmacist told me to keep her Rx cough medicine so I ave her some and she’s quieted down now
I was so sick yesterday I didn’t blog either. I’ll blog Saturday to make up for it.
I wrote my blog posts on the bus today and uploaded them when I got home. Here is my SquidsPro one. I’m just finishing up my other one. http://squidspro.com/blog/what-makes-a-good-sales-lens-7-tips-to-better-lenses/
So sorry you’re sick Amanda! Feel better!
Hope Scarlett and Beverly are feeling better soon. You helping your friend during her rough time, is an example of your strong and honorable character, when you yourself are going through a rough time.
My post for day 8 is below.
Thanks Cynthia
I just skimmed the blog posts here & there is some great stuff! I think I will have time this weekend to visit and comment.
Finished today’s post: http://learningtolovecats.com/choosing-the-right-veterinarian-for-our-kittens/
Rainy day here in SoCal.
We’re expecting rain today too I think
I’m all caught up, at least with your schedule. LOL.
This is something I’d like to start doing on Friday’s at my blog. I will set them to post at midnight on Thursday so they are ready for our overseas friends who start their day before we do.
It’s just an opportunity for peeps to say hi and get some link luv back to their site.
Great Patti!
Here we go! http://adventuresinonlinemarketing.com/how-email-is-holding-my-business-back-and-how-im-fighting-back/
Cool now get some rest!
Just posted my 3rd post to my blog showing how much I earned online in February. I have made over $100/day for the first two months of 2013. Check it out.
Wonderful Jennifer! Love the Pat Flynn way of showing income. It was so time consuming the time I did it. LOL!
Whoopsy! I did this last night and forgot to publish. Oh well, it is here at last. Will have to do today’s tomorrow ……… so maybe I’m just keeping up with you, Tiff! Take care of you and all your family. Hope you have some time out over the weekend to recover
http://www.inspirationalresults.com/overcoming-your-obstacles/#more-285
I agree with your sentiments regarding commenting on others blogs. There is no way I could, even if I wanted to, get around and read, let alone comment on all the blogs that are taking part. I am loving seeing what is available out there, and if I see a blog title that catches my eye (the importance of your blog title!) I click through. I then find others to follow from people who’ve left comments on their blog and end up who knows where – could even be on someone who isn’t taking part in the challenge!
And yes, I am finding by blogging 5 times a week, I am getting a feel for what I want to do, so it is helping me get some clarity on what direction I want to take with my blog. I know that that is probably a good idea to have BEFORE starting it all, but sometimes what you THINK you want to do and what you REALLY want to do aren’t the same thing and you only discover that by taking ACTION (my word for the year – more on that tomorrow!)
Best go now before I create another post with my comment ……….
Oh no I think what they meant is instead of having to comment on all the blogs, each person would get a couple or a few to focus on – like the 2-3 people above you in the list – but it’s just not my style.
I agree. And it could only get far too complicated!
I have just done my first broadcast message from aweber
Happy little dance here!! lol
Talk about an appropriate blog post – after all obstacles can (and are) be in any area of our life, not just financial!
YEA! Congrats Tamsin!
Done Day 4 and finished coaching assignment and emailed it – module 4, would you believe lol! Eight to go…
Have a good w/end!
Fantastic Shan!
I’ve just spent some time reading interesting comments!
It’s taken me some time to get started on the Freaking Fantastic Blog Challenge but I’m writing my second one today and the link to the first one is below.
I hope Scarlett is well on the mend!
Fran
Yea! Good going Fran
Scarlett seems a bit better now thank you!
Day 8 seemed to disappear somewhere. Being unwell might have something to do with it. Here is yesterday’s post.
http://www.kathyrobinsonsblog.com/what-is-holding-you-back
I’m going to tackle something new for day 9. We’ll see how it goes.
Feel better!
life happened all this week on my vacation to prevent me from getting done what I was hoping to get done
then we are always reminded, there is always someone who has it worse and be grateful for what we have … right?
Sandra Martinez says:
this website has been suspended.
Poor Sandra aka Murphy, hope things are getting back on track for you
Oh and I actually had 5 spam comments today! Things are looking up LOL
here is my day 8 post
