As I’ve said before, for at least 6 years I sat pissed off that my guru friends didn’t take the time to hold my hand and tell me every detail of how to market online. It was only after watching The Secret that I decided to “shit or get off the pot” and make it happen for me MYSELF.

It wasn’t so hard once I got started. There’s one really important thing you have to learn, though. Are you ready to know what the one secret to success is?

Ask people for help.

That’s right. Sign up to forums, social networks, etc., and post a message that says, “I don’t get this: _________. Can someone please help me understand it?”

And guess what?

People will help.

Sounds amazing, I know. Might even sound like a fictional tale, but it’s true. There are many people each and every day logging into the Warrior Forum, for example, looking for ways they can help. Some may not be guru level, but they know more than you about whatever it is you need help with, and they want to share their expertise.

It makes them feel good helping others. It gives their sig file exposure. I don’t care what the reason is – point is, people help other people if you’re willing to put it out there and admit you don’t know diddly about something.

Take for instance my problem with TweetDeck. I installed, liked it, etc., but I had problems adding some people to groups. Within 24 hours (actually less), someone on the Warrior Forum had answered my question and fixed the issue for me – FREE. Not to mention the dozens of others who Tweeted or posted to me to offer their suggestions as well.

There’s a wealth of information out there, but if you don’t have a penny to your name, it’s still not an excuse. Ask and ye shall receive – I’m living proof!
