Traffic Fuel, Senior Web Cam, Being Genuine While Branding
Hey everyone! I am nose to the grindstone today. Still wrapping up that late ghostwriting. I hate the anxiety of being late. Ugh! So today I’m going to bang out as much as I can (and for the next few days to finish it up). I spent yesterday running around – parent teacher conferences (I told my Mom I wish she would have gotten to get glowing feedback from teachers like I do – she always heard “Tiffany talks to much in class. Tiffany is always late on her work. If Tiffany just TRIED she’s very smart – she’d make a good grade.”). I was boy crazy and always focused on them, what can I say?
Then I had to do the volleyball game for my son – it was my day to bring snacks. 24 snacks and large Gatorade for 24 boys is HEAVY! I about killed myself lugging it all in. I was a proud Mama though yesterday – Shawn (just turned 12) got invited by Duke University to participate in the 7th grade gifted and talented program where he gets to take the SATs this year! He’s nervous testing with Juniors and Seniors and I told him to just be proud he’s so smart!
And my oldest son Dylan got hired (finally – he’s been looking for months!) at Subway. It’s a start – just working while taking college classes. Everyone was impressed with his Internet Marketing experience but that doesn’t translate into retail experience so it was hard for him to get hired at first.
Alrighty let’s get off MY life and into business stuff!
I noticed yesterday I had three Hostgator sales from my Traffic FUEL case study site. Where the sales were previously from this site, now they’re coming from there. So that’s nice! I definitely need to add more unique, well written content. I feel like there’s only so much you can teach or say about web hosting but I’m going to do some digging.
I am behind on Traffic FUEL and when a sale comes in I smack my forehead and say “D’oh! I gotta get back on that!”
I have to show y’all this – it’s hilarious! A fun loving couple of seniors were trying to figure out how to use a web cam. They started recording themselves but didn’t know it. Their granddaughter finds this on their computer and posts it to YouTube. Hilarious and should make you all smile – we all feel so confused with technology – senior or not!
Ready to Be Genuine in This Branding Challenge?
I have to share this neat horoscope with you. Apply it to your branding fears as well as your temptation to dip into slightly less than ethical money making opportunities (if you have those):
“Pinocchio wanted to be something he wasn’t and ended up wasting a lot of time on dangerous adventures. You can pretend to be something you aren’t, but you should be prepared for your nose to grow.”
I want – in this branding challenge – for all of you (and me) to embrace who we are without hesitation. It does not matter if you alienate some people. You have SEEN me do it time and time again. But then look at the people who are still around – you’re here for some reason!
You will appeal to someone.
And let me tell you, interacting with like minded people you ADORE (like I do you) is SO much more fun than stifling yourself to try to please a bunch of people you have zero respect for and really wouldn’t hang out with if you had the opportunity.
We have GOT to stop having our feelings hurt by the possibility of not making others happy. I still succumb to this. Now if someone’s rude to me, I go Honey Badger – but if it’s someone who’s been with me awhile who leaves, it can pinch! I don’t want you to not have a heart – but at the same time I don’t want you to be thin skinned during this branding exercise.
I want you to grow your confidence. And I’m not fully sure how to teach that. For me, it really was like turning a switch on one day (and it coincided w/me no longer dieting). Suddenly I woke up and realized I was a GREAT person! And damn it, I might be fat but that’s sure a lot better than being an evil person. I have a lot to offer and if not everyone wants or needs that, that’s fine too!
Okay I have busted some major butt with ghostwriting today! So proud of myself. Time to relax a few minutes and then do carpool.
Tiff

I saw a honey badger t-shirt on cafe press and thought of you! My motto is “Damn the torpedoes, full speed speed ahead!” I can’t wait for the challenge. I find that I need that accountability to make some leaps forward. Thanks for this and all you do!
Yes! I have a HB tshirt I got on zazzle but it’s SO big I never wear it LOL
Love the Pinocchio comment. You are so funny:)
wasn’t mine but cute!
Hi Tiffany:
Boy, sounds like you have been very busy. Hope you are feeling better. When can we expect more videos of Honey. We miss her.
I have one but have to process! lol
No need to reply-keep the nose to the grindstone. Looking forward to learning & getting my $1 back. I have a grandson that didn’t like being a dishwasher and finally got moved up to pizza maker. It’s good experience for them. I learned at 9 & 10 what the grandson is learning at 17 (manual labor stinks). Now I’m learning from you what I wish I’d learned a long time ago and feel like I’m the old guy in the video sometimes.
not a clue– but I haven’t quit yet.
I feel the same
Oh dear that video is hilarious. Yet I imagine that’s what most of us look like when we’re doing something new. At least that mostly what I sound like and how I figure stuff out. Ohh I did that by accident, now backtrack and do it again (and write it down).
I’m looking forward to the branding challenge too. I’m curious will you be referring us to pages in the various books you purchased? Just so I know if I need any of them.
You’re amazing Tiffany. And so are you. Yes. YOU! The commentors here motivate me as much as Tiffany does.
I loved it too LOL! I might refer to pages yes but we’ll have my PDF too.
I just shared this quote on Twitter before reading this post:
“I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.” — Bill Cosby
EVERYONE has flaws…and anyone who takes shots at someone else is often doing so because they don’t like something about themselves.
I actually had a subscriber take time out of their day to write me and take shots at me….everything from my business, my emails, to my nosering. lol…and I had never engaged with this person EVER prior to that email I received. lol
That stuff just rolls right off my shoulder and I often even get a laugh out of it.
If nobody’s hatin’ on ya, you’re probably not doing something right. lol
yes Jay great one! Nosering envy eh? Haters! LOL
I understand, Jay. I had someone go to someone else and ask questions about what I was doing on my site instead of coming to me. We just have to let it fall away and keep moving forward.
Tiffany, really looking forward to the challenge. All of a sudden I’m running into all kinds of books and online email/comments that relate to branding. Must be the right time – it’s in the air!
rotflmao! I was about to google the definition for “nosering”. I figured it had to be some bloggy term I’d never heard of – what’s a “noser” and what the heck is he doing? Then it hit me – “nose ring”. Duh … What am I going to do when we get to the hard stuff????
“We have GOT to stop having our feelings hurt by the possibility of not making others happy” – so true! What’s strange is to have the opposite problem – I started a weird Happy Birthday gig on fiverr.com just to force myself to make videos on a regular basis and now it’s really hard to give up because people like it so much – what should I DO, Tiff/HB??
ps:it actually has brought me in a great branding direction too
Hi Tiffany;
Some good information on using CPanel might be some good content for your site. Just a thought.
Tracy
Thanks for showing this video. I needed a good laugh. I’m going to try my best not to be super shy and be myself in my videos for the challenge.
Glad you are feeling better
LOL, That was priceless. He sure was yawning a lot. Viagra must have been sapping his energy.
Hi Tiffany,
It is great to know you are feeling better. The cold air has settled in over KY, so hopefully it is cooler in your area now. Gee, less than 12-hours of 40-50 degrees in the area and people are already complaining about it.
I have a question and a thought for you.
Thought: will it be possible for those of us who complete the branding challenge to donate our $1.00 to the angel fund?
Question: do you have an ETA on the sustainability living Plr?
Holly
by this time next week
Oh My…that video is too much. Gotta love the part where he says drop your dress and we’ll see your boobs…lol…plus all the other stuff.
Too funny! I can’t wait to start the learning. Keep up the good work Tiffany!
Hey Tiffany,
I don’t leave many comments on your site (lazy I guess) but when I’m chuckling out loud all by myself watching that video with the fiesty old man burping, grabbing his wife’s boobies and singing I can’t help myself.
Too friggin’ funny! Thanks for making my day.
Cute video. My husband said he can relate!
I finally convinced him to write some PLR to help me get my PLR busiess started. Yeah!
My PLR site should be up soon. Thanks for all the encouragement.
Love the video, they are so sweet!
I think I need to practise quick else that’s what’s gonna happen to me!!lol
Gaynor
Tiff,
I laughed at the video… not because I’m technically challenged, but because my better half will be exactly like the gent in the video-20 years from now!
You crack me up with the stuff you find. Totally made my day, thank you!
-Bonnie
OMG – I hope the grandparents haven’t written the granddaughter out of their will. LOL
No they gave her permission to post it because they had never heard of youtube lol
Hi Tiff!
Good to see you’re getting better. I missed your vivid presence. All the comments from all the good people here are also a welcome reading. Thank’s to all for sharing.
I got rid of my TV as I don’t spend any time in front of it any longer. It feels like the biggest time-waster of all time. It’s better spent here.
I signed up on the branding challenge but as my book writing keeps me spellbound I can’t squeeze in more work. I figure I’d learn something with a value well superseding that $1 price anyhow.
Any plan on releasing an eBook on branding after the challenge?
yes! That’s part of what I’ll be doing
That video is just too funny! I had to show it to my hubby.
Like Mark, (above) his favorite part was the “drop the dress to see the boobs”. Must be a guy thing.
Wonder what the granddaughter thought of that part. My kids, 32 and 33, would be totally “grossed out”. LOL
Read this yesteday which I think fits in with what you are saying – “someone’s actions, statements, beliefs and actions have nothing to do with you, so to take anything personally is to take responsibility for the other person’s perception.
When someone calls you a name, it’s his or her projection and underneath that is a deep and perhaps unconscious desire to just be Loved. When someone critiques you, it’s a reflection of his or her own inner critic and you can simply take it as feedback instead of a judgment about your worth or abilities.”
Great video Tiffany. Really made me laugh. I am ready for the branding challenge even though I am quite shy in video but hopefully this challenge will help me a great deal.
Thanks Catherine
Hi, Tiffany,
I saw part of that video on the evening news last night. This was the first time I saw the whole thing, however. Those two are hillarious, and they look much better when they don’t have their faces stuck in the web cam-lol. I think we all get lost with certain parts of technology until we learn the nuts and bolts. Everybody has to start somewhere I suppose.
Take care!
Cindi
“Tiffany talks to much in class” …. Reeaaallly?
Thanks goodness for us that she does
LOL I told her it’s come in handy now. I just had to come into my own
Miss Tiffany,
Congratulations to both your boys.
A quote from Oscar Wilde fits for the branding- Be yourself, everyone else is taken.
I’ve seen Honey Badger Tees on zazzle when my wife and I ordered our ‘I survived Irene’ tees. Made me think of you when I saw them.
Mel
The video was great! That old couple could definitely be me & my husband, picking & muttering & trying to make sense of it all…
Well, I signed up for the Challenge but I already know I wont get my $ back, which is OK, I’ll learn stuff for sure. I want to keep what little brain I’ve got left functioning…
Hi Tiff
Just a quote.
“You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do.”
― Eleanor Roosevelt
Barney
ouch! lol
Tiff,
It’s a great branding challenge. It’s not easy to just really be yourself. Should be the most natural thing in the world. But I’m so impressed with how you do it.
I’m not there yet. But I’m “in” for the branding challenge. It’s not just for business. It’s going to be a life changer.
Debbie
Thanks for that video – it made my day. I also wonder what the granddaughter thought about the drop the dress. My daughter aged 25 was totally grossed out last week that her uncle (my brother) had fathered a child last year aged 62. She was slightly less grossed out when she found out it was IVF – at least he didn’t do ‘it’ at that age!!! She knew about her new cousin but hadn’t thought it through.
With the confidence thing, I faked it until one day I realized I actually was confident. That was a fantastic day. However I’m still looking forward to the branding with some trepidation.
The video is absolutely hilarious. The best part for me was how complimentary the gentleman was of his wife – both her lovely hair and her boobs. LoL.
Brilliant.
Tiptopcat
Never heard of YouTube. Boy are they in for a shocker! lol
Sounds like you had a wonderful family day. It is great about Shawn. Loved the video. Sounds like my MIL. LOL
Tiffany,
I have a couple thoughts about some things you can cover on the web hosting. Maybe it will assist you (AND me since I don’t know how to do this!)
You have a product page at tiffanydow.com and you have your blog at tiffanydow.com/blog. I haven’t figured out how to have both. I set up my debij.com site as an Addon Domain…but I then redirect it to debij.com/blog. This won’t allow me to have the 2 pages separately and I don’t know how to make that happen. And since I’m looking at doing the same thing to my PLR site, it’s becoming a “figure it out now Debi” sorta thing. I may get it done before you get it blogged…but I know I can’t be the only one who wants to know how to do this! (Or maybe I am and I’m just in denial).
Also, I regularly get my new Addons screwed up because I do the steps backwards (don’t ask me which way cause I’m still having to go to support chat to fix it). Knowing whether to set up the Addon first or install WP first would be helpful for newbies. My not so common sense says to set up the addon first but then when I go into Fantastico to install WP it says it shouldn’t exist yet. I don’t understand the background stuff so I just can’t wrap my head around it still (VISUAL diagrams by HostGator would be nice for those of us who are visual learners…used to have to take my computer programs home and diagram them so I’d know how to fix the actual code!).
Thanks,
Debi J
No you don’t want to redirect it. Just have it as an addon. Then install the blog on that domain with the place /blog where it asks for where you want it. Unredirect that main page and put an index.html on there.
Addon – first
Put an index file on there where you have your opt in or whatever.
Create a blog at /blog
create a /plr area if you want or subdomain.
But I’ll try covering it! LOL
