Watch Your Threats Sweetheart!

Remember how a day or two ago I told you someone in a forum was inquiring about whether or not I had spammed their blog yet? And of course, I don’t spam or post for backlinks on people’s blogs. Nor do I outsource this to anyone. So whoever is out there spamming with my name maliciously has angered some loon.

Anyhoo…not sure if this is the same person that was in the forum but look at this lovely email I got today through my contact form on my blog:

“You better hope I don’t find your address.  Sick and tired of your crap on my site.  Every fucking day.  Now I’m mad, and know just how to fix it. See you soon pumpkin.  3 years of this kiddo, you brought it on yourself.”

Now here’s where you cross a line. Threatening me with an in person visit. First of all, if someone’s truly spamming your blog, contact them and inquire about it. Find out if they respond, if it’s them, etc. Because it’s not me.

Second, I have 3 children. I’m a Texan. I’m a great shot. I own a gun. So if you do plan to come visit me once you find my address, know all of those facts ahead of time. Never say “See you soon pumpkin” unless you want an investigation to occur.

I hate ignorant bullies like you – so I just launched an investigation with the ICCC (Internet Crime Complaint Center). So that way, they can get into the system and see exactly who sent this to me and if possible, we’ll prosecute – Yea!

The hilarious thing is, I just watched the show Cyberbully with my kids to help teach them about this. I have no tolerance for people who use a name like “S” with a phony email address to threaten people. And worse, I hate people who don’t check facts first and assume they know what they’re talking about.

Tiff ;)

Tiffany, I would suggest you also forward this complaint to the FBI cyber crimes div. They should be more than happy to help out with that jerk.

  • George says:

Awh heck, does that mean I have to retract my threat(s)! :-)

It really is stupid isn’t it – we used to get it in The U.K. way back with the CB craze. People making stupid threats to do others harm. And that, on the whole, is all they are – STUPID threats!

Still, as you say, you have a gun AND can shoot – they have been warned………

Don’t forget Tiff, there’s a lot of us on here who care about you – and (thankfully) only a few fruitcakes….

  • Send him some Texas Justice, Tiff!!

I can’t stand bullies. My daughter was bullied last year in Kindergarten. KINDERGARTEN. By boys who’s mothers said “That’s not something MY child would do”. Guess, what? They did do it and made my child who loves school & would cry when she had to stay home sick, start making up excuses and fake illnesses so she could stay home and not have to deal with the bullies.

I hope you nail this guy. There are so many freaks on the ‘Net and I have seen a crapload of them in the Mom Blog community. It’s very sad and yes, it does hurt when it’s done to you. Even when it’s on the ‘Net. The internet is forever. People tend to forget that.

    • Tiffany says:

Aww poor kid :( I’m not hurt by this – but you just have to be careful because of weirdo nutcases.

    • Shan,

I had this problem when my step-daughter moved in with us–many years ago. She was in the 6th grade I believe. One girl kept picking on her and we tried to handle it nicely but the school wouldn’t do anything.

I finally told her, “Look, fight back and beat the snot out of her if you have to.”

The school called the next day and my step daughter (ironically named Tiffany..LOL) had beat the poor girl’s head into the brick wall. No one ever messed with her again.

Wasn’t the best way to settled the problem, but it was settled.

      • Alan says:

I used to run a department store in a nearby city. I have actually had someone say to me, face to face, “I know where you live”. I replied, “Great. You’ll be able to give me a lift home then”. True Story.

I have zero tolerance for bullying, as I suffered myself when I was younger. All my girls, (aged 7, 10 and 12) are very small, like their dad and mum.

Although we live in one of the safer parts of Britain, I realise that they will experience bullying and threats at some time in their lives. So I emlisted them to a Karate school, where they learn self discipline and self confidence (not arrogance). The two older girls are now green and blue belts respectively, and have already needed to call on the skills they’ve learned to make the bullies go elsewhere.

If I lived in Texas, I’d own a gun too. They’re illegal in Britain though, eve the Police don’t carry guns.

I probably shouldn’t, but I admire those people who are prepared to protect themselves and their families by whatever means necessary. In my view, it’s your right to do so.

        Cheers

        Alan

        • Tiffany says:

Police don’t carry guns? What in the world do they use?

          • Alan says:

            Spoons of course.

You never mess with an Englishman if he’s gotta spoon.

My brother is law is a policeman, and he’s a member of the Armed Reponse Unit, our version of SWAT.

Even then, he has to apply for, and sign out a gun if he needs one.

For the most part, our Police are great, but I’d like to give them more powers, as they’re often on the front line of some pretty evil stuff.

  • OK, I’ll warn you when I plan to visit (smile).

Just saw an email about why the Japanese did not invade us during World War II. Their reason was the fact that there were more guns in owned by hunters in most states who were crack shots. Quite a civilian army I’d say and it still holds true today.

I’m glad you’ve got my back Tif or should I say “pistol packing mama.” ;-)

  • James says:

Dead on, girl! (no pun intended)

This moron is obviously not aware of our right to carry laws here in Texas, and under no circumstances do you ever threaten anyone… especially in print!

    Keep your powder dry =)

    James

    • Tiffany says:

Exactly. Threaten a mother of 3 kids? See s/he must be crazy so that’s a concern. lol And I use hollow point – my daddy always said “You never want to NOT use hollow points because you want it to explode on impact and eliminate the chance for survival”

      • Debi J says:

I remember my death threat letters and calls from a few years back…that was before my son and I were armed and fully loaded, plus a fully loaded shotgun! We use hollow points too Tiff.. We have people ask why we keep one in the chamber. Seriously! If I draw my weapon it’ll be to shoot not LOAD!

We also have a sign on the door that reads “Trespassers will be shot…Survivors will be shot again!”

May explain why we have to go looking for Girl Scouts nowadays when it’s cookie season! :)

        Debi J

  • “I’m a great shot. I own a gun. So if you do plan to come visit me once you find my address, know all of those facts ahead of time.”

Same here. Reminds me of a sign I always wanted to post when I lived in the country (which was all of my adult life–until 3 years ago.)

–Trespassers will be shot. Survivors will be prosecuted.– LOL

  • Alison says:

This is yet another thing that concerns me about “branding.” Although you really do have to be off your rocker to make a threat like that. What do they think, you’re going to go hide under your bed waiting to get clobbered? Good idea to bring up the ICCC. A lot of people ( your loon for example) aren’t aware there is such a thing.

    • Tiffany says:

Exactly. And i just looked at black hat world too – somehow they’re under the belief that I’m spinning content (another thing I abhor) and posting links to my own site. And that I’m ashamed to visit the site. Not ashamed at all – I got a Google alert. I couldn’t visit the actual site. I’m only able t see a cached version of it.

  • Marilynn says:

You have got to be kidding! Why would anyone be so crazy? Unsubscribe or something for goodness sakes. I hope they catch the loon and put em away!! I agree, I’m from cowboy country too and wouldn’t hesitate to take someone out if they came a callin’.

    Stay safe

  • Pat Busch says:

    Go get ‘em Girl !!
    One less wacko online.

    They are out there, unfortunately.

  • sandy says:

Hi Tiff. I’m glad you’re pursuing this. Too many people think they can say anything on the internet and they’ll never be held accountable. I hope you nail whoever this is.

    Sandy

  • Tiff – that’s awful!

Just let us know what you need …we’ll be there to support you in any way we can.

I figure I’m just a day or so drive away. :)

I’m so proud of you. It take guts and strength to fight back and stand your ground. He clearly does not know you or he would know that you are the kind of person that would never do that.

    BIG HUGS,
    ~Kate

  • Michael says:

    Hey Tiff,

    I’ve got your back.

    Michael

  • Sharon says:

Way to go Tiff! Glad you launched an investigation…this is soo maddening. Too many psychos out there and I have no idea why a person feels that threatening another person is the way to go. I hope they catch the goon and I hope you prosecute and I pray they land his @## behind bars in jail.

And if you are reading this, come threaten me too and see I don’t handle you the ‘African’ way.

  • Harry says:

I had a threat like that once. I reported the email to the FBI and never heard from the jerk again. Hopefully, whoever it was that sent that email is behind bars now.

  • Shirley Horne says:

Hey Tiffany, I am glad there are legal ways to deal with this kind of foolishness. I hope they are fast and effective.

Being a newbie this kind of stuff is a little scary but I know this too is a learning experience.

Will keep u and ur family in my prayers.
    Be safe!

  • Fiona says:

obvious ? – but do you know which site he is talking about?

    • Tiffany says:

Of course not – because I’m not spamming him. LOL! I also haven’t bought links other than the profiles I once got which were profiles only and not anyone’s blogs.

  • Barney says:

    Hi Tiff
All the years I’ve been doing web design and I had never heard of the Internet Crime Complaint Center. One more thing you have taught me.

Send your email idiot to Colorado. I’ll teach them about our “make my day” law. If you feel your life is threatened and they are on your property, Shoot!

    Barney

  • Nathan says:

Someone who’s life has been shattered for 3 years since a bot with the name Tiffany Dow has been spamming their site? They’re so annoyed by the spam that they can’t take it anymore? It’s hardly a story that would win any Oscars any time soon.

It would also be funny if there weren’t so many weirdos out there – you never know if it’s just a joke or whether the people who make these threats are actually missing a few too many brain cells.

It’s strange to hear everyone talking about owning a gun. I’m in the UK where you would probably be arrested for swinging a spoon let alone carrying a gun.

What I never liked about having an internet business is that you’re so exposed to so many people that it’s a little scary really. Working online, you put yourself out there in a way that offline businesses don’t. It’s definitely something worth discussing.

I hope this was all just a joke and that it gets sorted out quickly. You did the right thing, Tiff.

    Stay safe.

  • Isobel says:

There is a blog run by a certain android who used to be quite popular but now has to resort to threats and personal slurs to get anyone to read his blog. He’s done his best to destroy the businesses of 2 online marketers who are doing a LOT better than he is. His tactics don’t get above the level of verbal abuse and threats of “exposure”, but they seem to impress the little army of morons who hang on his every word.

Unforunately one of the marketers he’s targeted has decided to take a break from IM to protect his family from the fallout. The android is still spewing his poison and considers this a “victory”.

Apparently anyone who can hide behind an email address can be a “hero” now. Until of course someone threatens to “expose” THEM. Then watch them go running to momma.

I really wish this dumabass would take YOU on Tiff, I would PAY to watch you take him out! LOL

  • Carl says:

    Tiff,
Call the police. The web is not some secret hiding spot for crime to go unprosecuted. If you got the same threat in the mail or over the phone, you’d call. Make a report. Do it now!

  • Jo Ann says:

Hopefully this is just some bottom feeder that is jealous of your success and your following, but being a news junkie myself, I’ve learned that there are some toxic fools in this world.

I would definitely take this character seriously.

Maybe when the authorities nail thier behind they will think twice in the future about hiding behind a computer screen and letting their battle ship mouth write checks their sailboat arse can’t cash.

  • Marcia says:

Unbelievable. Guess I shouldn’t be by now but I am constantly amazed at what some people choose to spend their time doing. Why people would want to do sick and malicious things is beyond comprehension. However the unfortunate reality is that they do. Hope they can catch the idiot.

  • Jeff says:

Git R Done. Protect the kids and your own self.
Hope you find out who and take no prisoners.

  • Philip C. says:

I agree with those who recommend notifying the proper authorities and agencies. But at the same time I agree with the “come on my turf and I will cap that ass” mentality.

Where I grew up in Santa Ana, CA, you went a few blocks you were in enemy territory. Modern day Dodge City. Me, I would tell them “bring it, don’t sing it.”

I still live in the hometown, but in a better part. Still, some whack job like this is bound to run into someone else that’ll give them the blues before I do.

Stay up Tiff. You’re going to be just fine.

  • Tony and Claudia says:

    From one Texan to another….

    Don’t Mess With Texas!

We’re here in Dallas Tiff and if you ever need some backup, we’ll be there in a flash!

    Go Get’ Em Girl!

    Ya’ll Come Back Naw…Ya Hear!

  • Tony B says:

I totally agree that the dude who is threatening is a total jerk.

BUT I can NEVER condone the fact that you are talking about gunning someone down in print… I have 2 young kids too and I hear what your saying Tiffany

However lets NOT stoop to their level eh Tiff>

I know this ain’t gonnna get me no brownie points, but I just had to say it…

I know your better than that .. arn’t you?

    • Tiffany says:

Tony we’ll agree to disagree – because if some nut comes on my property or comes after me physically – you bet your ass they’re getting shot. Sorry! I wholeheartedly believe in it.

  • Ray says:

I saw that thread on BHW the other day and thought it was hilarious that some of the posters wanted to lump you in with the scammers in IM — obviously they don’t follow you :) . But for someone to actually give thought to, write and send a threatening email to you is REALLY crossing the line! They don’t know you, your husband or who you know. He/She really needs to step away from the computer, get a real life and apologize to you.

    Ray

Btw, I’ve been through Texas … it’s a big state with a lot of places to put people who “act up”, know what I mean (lol)?

  • Rhonda Grice says:

I’m not saying……..but this sure makes you wonder about a certain person you been having back and forth bad emails from lately. Just saying….Hope I’m wrong, but this person was mad at you.

  • hagar says:

I’d rather talk a year, than pull out a pistol…but there are some folks that don’t want to talk bad, they want to DO bad.
Them, you got to do what you’re talking about – stop them, before they hurt you or yours. No discussion – settle it.
Just make sure you don’t leave him on Eucalyptus Street …drag him over to Oak (old joke, but still funny)

  • Wow! Scary stuff! People get very passionate about their online business. But, that is taking it to the extreme. Did you contact him and try to figure out the miscommunication? Wonder what he was thinking!

  • Jay Piecha says:

This douchebag needs professional help if s/he is threatening someone in this manner over blog comments.

Seriously, if that’s their biggest problem in life s/he should consider her/himself lucky. And obviously if they have the time to take out of their day/week to search, find, and visit someone over blog comments, then they clearly have nothing else going on in their life. lol

Good idea to contact authorities. Even if you are a tough Texan girl with a gun to protect your kids, it’s better to not have to actually deal with that in person…

  • Ellen says:

Kind of silly for that person to get angry about something so trivial. And I am sure he or she is getting more spam comments than just the one with your name.

Hope U find out who it is and they are not smart enough to use a proxy or TOR to hide their IP.

    Be safe.

  • Andre says:

Sorry you have to go through that Tiffany. And what after three years they finally decide to say something. Kinda fishy to me. Keep the face up and line ‘em up between the sites. And blast their “Pumpkin.”

  • Sandra says:

Even if someone did spam the guy/gal in your name, the reaction is weirdly disproportioned. Every single blog receives spam, it is like having a garden and getting upset with the weeds.

This is someone with a screw missing – no pun intended.

Now, talking about security and kids… when you have time, have a look at this and exercise precaution:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2vARzvWxwY&feature=player_embedded

  • John says:

Glad you reported this jerk Tiffany but I have to agree with the other poster, you should report it to the local authorities also. Sometimes the Feds aren’t the quickest movers and heaven forbid this whacko does do something, it would be nice to have the locals aware of him.

Plus, if you do have to defend yourself, it’s a lot better if you can the coroner, “I told you guys he said he was coming.”

Stay safe and I’ll be praying for you.

  • Sorry to hear this is happening to you, Tiff. Like a lot of others say, I hope s/he is just blowing smoke.

  • Jo Ann says:

“because if some nut comes on my property or comes after me physically – you bet your ass they’re getting shot. Sorry! I wholeheartedly believe in it.”

So do I! I also have a gun because I figure if anyone enters my home without being invited they’re not here to have coffee and chat, and probably won’t ask my permission to do whatever it is they’re here to do.

I don’t go looking for trouble, but I’m not going to cower in a corner while some crack head rapes or kills me or a member of my family right in my own home.

    And on a side note:)

If this character were for real, wouldn’t it make more sense to email you and say “Tiffany, I’m Tom McGillacutty from kooksarekool.com, and I’m on to you spamming my site. How about knocking it off before I take further action against you”? (I hope that’s not a real site:o)

Somebody out there has an agenda.

  • Hi Tiffany,

I really recommend you file a complaint with your local police department.

    Mike

  • Ralph Moore says:

    Hi Tiffany,

In addition to cleaning the barrel and oiling the action, you need to find out where this came from, and I doubt that you will get that handed to you by law enforcement – unless you have an inside track somewhere.

If you know someone with the skills, it might be worth it to do the required cyber-sleuthing to find out.

Letting someone know that YOU know who and where they are, especially when they don’t expect it, might have them checking their diaper and backsteppin’ like old MJ doing the “moonwalk”.

Take care and watch your back.

  • C.J. Hallock says:

Did this idiot leave any information at all… a website/blog? Email address? phone #? address? … Just curious if he was close to me :) … I got your back tiff!

  • Mano Rame says:

It’s a good idea to publicly announce that you’ve received a threat whether it’s online or offline.

Send me his email address let me talk to him and find out what he is really up to.

  • Alice Coaxum says:

Wow this is just getting insane. I’m glad you reported them because you can never assume that someone isn’t crazy enough to follow through on a threat.

  • Tiff,

I can only hope this jerk does not show up anywhere near Texas or you and your family. I am so sorry to have to put up with this kind of behavior. You are truly one of the most ethical and helpful people I have come across in the IM market place.

FYI – In the future I think I will think twice about asking where you are on a project. It’s probably better to just sit back quietly and wait for it to be released(LOL). However I’m glad to see that Texan “spark” is back in your writing.
    Holly

  • Tim says:

Maybe it’s just the SOS lady? Most people are sore losers. To note if they were actually going to do something Tiff, I would not send you anything. I would find the person. I would not make any threats publicly and I would knock on the door of who I was looking for. Finding people today is very easy. More than likely this is what I call Chicken! Be concerned but not to weary to much. You filed the reports and see what happens from there. Do not let it eat at you, that is probably all they are hoping for. Take Care Tim

  • Roberto says:

Hello Tiffany. This fellow who threatened you is a very foolish person. People like him are what keep people like me in business since I recently found work as a clerk in the Public Defender’s Office. Most people who wind up as clients of Public Defenders are people who suffer from self inflicted wounds triggered by not thinking before opening up their mouths or taking the actions that land them in need of criminal defense lawyers.

  • Agneta says:

    Oddballs!

    Nuke’m til’em glow,
    and shoot’em in the dark!

Sad enough, it’s the same for me as for Nathan in UK.
Here in Sweden we’re even supposed to feel sorry for them.

    Ick!

    But…

I live by the forest, and I’m a bowhunter, sooo

I will not disturb my neighbors when I turn them into porcupines.

Send the creep my way. Getting tired of 20 yard vole-shooting. My arrow tips are destroyed, nailing them to the ground.

    Get some practice shooting, Tiff!
One can never be too good.

If it comes to that, You put a vlog on here, will ya?

  • Katie says:

    You go Pumpkin!! LOL.
I used to have my address on my websites until my daughter said to me, “Mom, some weirdo could show up on your doorstep!”. That got me thinking about when I passed over an employee for a promotion because she didn’t have the qualifications for the job and that evening I was awakened in the middle of the night by the sound of banging. The next day as we were leaving on a week long trip we found our mailbox smashed in. Needless to say, we sruck around an extra day but the sheriff said there really wasn’t anything they could do because no one had seen the act. I decided at that point to use an office address instead. We, too, are very good shots but who really wants to have to go through that?

Too bad the person doesn’t know enough about how to figure out where the posts are coming from-or to find someone who does.

    • Tiffany says:

Yeah that’d be scary but I’m also the type of person who tends to get angry BEFORE I get scared. Stems from my teenage peeping Tom incident – he scared me (he wound up being a neighborhood rapist). So after that I just became an angry vigilante type. LOL! I won’t seek them out but if they come prowling, Honey Badger will open my door.

  • Wow…. what an idiot. Take care of yourself!

You’re lucky you don’t live in Germany, here you are by law required to post a real address on the “imprint” of your website. – No PO Box, it has to be a real address.

This event makes me think of renting one of these addresses you can get for like 40 bucks a month. Don’t want any crazy lunatic walking up my door, all I have is hot water. Owning a gun over here is very frowned upon.

  • Pete Moring says:

Hi Tiff, We just had a local lad in our town jailed for posting ‘innapropriate’ comments on Facebook pages of people who had committed suicide.
It appears he has Aspergers, Autism and possible Schitzophrenia issues – The internet is not set up to deal with this kind of person yet, and it appears you’re now a victim of a similar personality.

although you show great determination that this freak will ‘not’ bully you, there will always be that nagging doubt about just how far they might take their threats (gun or no gun)

Hope it gets resolved ‘very’ quickly Tiff.

    Cheers – Pete.

  • Ruth says:

I am glad you’re reporting this Tiff, what a ridiculous threat they’ve made. Of course it’s unlikely they would ever carry it out, they think they are safe to say what they like behind their anonymous email address, but you have to take them at their word and make sure to stay safe!

  • I expect Honey Badger is now on red alert and on active duty because of that lunatic.

You go girl, I would report that incident to everyone I could for protection. According to the cybercrime.gov site, you should call your local FBI office for assistance.

And stay locked and loaded (no joke)

    Lee Ann

  • Nicola says:

I got to kinda agree with TonyB to a point on this one Tiff – sorry :(

Firstly, I fully understand your fierce maternal instincts to protect your kids, I’m a mother of 3 and would die for my kids without a second thought. The big problem that I see as an objective 3rd party is that at no point has this ignorant nutter said that they actually know where you live, they’ve ‘insinuated’ that they may pay you a visit but not out-rightly stated it – they’ve left it as a ‘read between the lines’ statement. They could easily find out where you live thanks to Aweber and whois – ain’t they great?!

On the other hand you have out-rightly stated in writing, on your own blog, that you own a gun and will shoot them and almost dared them to visit, so if you have legal authorities looking in to this you could be the one who comes unstuck! Not fair, but the law can be an ass!

Obviously this person is mega angry about being spammed and you’re mega angry about their message so it could end up being seen as ‘quits’ if the authorities do manage to catch up with them!

100% totally understand the emotions you’re feeling and I’d be the first to openly state that should anyone kidnap or hurt one of my kids I tear them limb from limb with my bare hands, hit them with the soggy end and happily do time in prison for it – I wouldn’t even defend myself in court! I’d wait for the b*****ds when they came out of prison – I’d be obsessed to the point it would be my sole mission in life (LOL psycho woman ;) )

I digress, sorry :) – On the up side Tiff they infer that they don’t know where you live so they’re probably not bright enough to have used a private proxy. Your contact form should have logged their IP address! Copy and paste this IP address into Google Maps or search – this should give you a rough indication of where this person is (ain’t you glad you know me chuck :) ) At the very least it should give you some comfort to know roughly this persons location.

Hope it works out and maybe this angry person may read your post and not become more inflamed by it, rather realise that they’ve made a massive mistake.

Don’t let your emotions take over your logic Tiff – that’s how creeps like this win the game!

Take care and stay safe xx

P.S. Don’t ask me why, I’m just spooky sometimes, but I have a feeling the person who sent you that message is female – there’s something about the wording they use that doesn’t sound very masculine!

    • Tiffany says:

I don’t mind people who disagree with me Nicola but you will never ever change MY mind. No he said I’d better hope he never finds out. Threat enough. And in Texas, sorry but if some nut threatens you even remotely and shows up at your door for an attack, you ARE within your rights to defend yourself. I have zero problem stating this fact. Free speech about defending myself is my right. Threats against someone are not. How does the contact form have their IP address? I wish I knew how to access that. It does sound female doesn’t it? No man I know uses the word pumpkin.

      • Nicola says:

Sorry Tiff I was getting confused with IP’s showing up on comments. You can still do it though when it’s sent via a comment form.

        Here’s how:

        1) First open the offending email. Depending on what service you’re using there should be a ‘reply’ button which has drop down options. Among those options you will see one called ‘view message source’ or words to that effect. Click on it.

        2) You will then see a page of html coding – don’t freak out! As you look down it you will get the section of the contact form (To: Subject: etc)

        3) Straight after this (approx 17 lines down from the top) you’ll see something like this:-

        X-PHP-Script: buykindleuk.co.uk/index.php for 86.162.209.168

(That’s my site and IP in case you’re wondering)

Yours should read something like :-

        X-PHP-Script: tiffanydow.com/index.php for NUT JOB’S IP ADDRESS

        4) That will be your offenders’ IP address Tiff. Copy it and paste it, in quotes, into Google. It should show up along with a similar batch of IP’s on a site called http://www.ip-adress.com – alternatively enter it into the IP trace service here http://www.ip-adress.com/ip_tracer/

        5) BINGO! If you test it with my IP you will be able to see that it shows up as Sheffield UK. I’m about 25 miles away actually but you get the idea.

I’m still anti guns Tiff but we’ll have to agree to differ – they cause carnage. Plus I’m in the UK so our laws are very different. I’m also a believer in paradigms but that another story ;)

Give the above a try and let me know how you get on. I know if it was me, knowing the approximate location would scratch the itch so to speak :)

    Tiff,

This is obviously someone who does not know you. Have you thought about it being that girl that you tried to help and she went psycho about it? You never know…

Anyone who knows you and follows you knows that you are not that type of person. They obviously don’t know anything about you.

I still think it is that person I mentioned above trying to take out revenge on you. It will be interesting to find out who is really behind all of this.

Take care and here in Virginia (I am a transplanted Dallas Texan as you know) we are locked and loaded as well… :)

I will pray for you over this. A shotgun only goes as far as its range. A prayer of protection not only protects you, it searches out the evil behind the threat.

  • Tiff let you LOCAL POLICE know about it too…

This way you WILL BE creating a RECORD of the threat.

I would go to the police station and INSIST that a complaint be made IN WRITING. GET A COPY!!!

Now-a-days calling anyone and them telling you they are making an official complain, DOES NOT mean they are really writing it down.

UNLESS they give you a CLAIM/INCIDENT #. THEN you can CALL BACK and ask about that CLAIM/INCIDENT # and perhaps a visit is not necessary. But I would call and find out procedure at the least at your local police station.

I would just make sure as many people as possible know about it!

All Check this link out. Not sure it will help, but you may find some information.

what a cool organization for kids Roz! That’s definitely needed.

      • Curtis Sliwa started the New York City Guardian Angels many years ago. It’s NOW … ALL OVER the place.

I met Curtis when NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg (before he became the mayor) was campaigning here in my community. I introduced myself and thanked Curtis for all they do – I grew up in his time. He’s a BIG guy! (I am sure he would NOT know me from a hole in the wall now, but I feel thanking people is important!

Dr. Phil did a show on Cyber Bullying not too long ago. It might have been a rerun, but now I can’t find it. There was a lady on there who used to or maybe still works with Curtis. The woman is VERY involved in Cyber Bullying/Stalking. I can’t find her name. I was just searching the Dr. Phil site.

  • Tiff on IP stuff you might want to call your own Internet Service Provider and Host. They know this stuff and perhaps can cut out the wasted time floundering around. I’m not an IP specialist myself!

This stuff always presents a “learning experience!”

  • Tiff”

I thought of that girl too, but according to what I just read, one has to know how to do that sort of stuff as it is done with a bot of some kind.

The thing on the web is that UNLESS you know someone is who they say they are, anyone can be anyone. That girl could have been someone who really knows what she is going and just “pretended” to not know.

I read on the Dr. Phil site today about this young girl who took her own life because of Cyber Bullying. It turned out a “neighbor” down the street created an account with a young man’s name and befriended this young teenage. After a few weeks the supposed young man started to treat her badly and many in her school got involved. In the end the young girl committed suicide and it came out later that it was the neighbor, her daughter and an employee who was pretending to be the young man.

My point is: YOU NEVER know who you are talking to UNLESS you REALLY know them.

I am an older woman and I live alone. I have a very mean dog and I think she knows how to pull the trigger to. I also have a shotgun and several other firearms. Only hollow points in this house and always one in the chamber and no safety. I wouldn’t play around with a gun but I will shoot your ass if you come near my house or family. And I don’t shoot to wound anyone. You won’t take me to courrt for violating your rights. Cause you won’t b alive. I have an elderly aunt who lives in the boonies and has a gun in every room of her house yes, even the toilet..Happy endings to all. Doni

Here in the Uk we’re not allowed to carry guns.

A few years ago my first wife enrolled in a self defence class locally. It was run by anold style English Bobby (Policeman), so above reproach, and was specifically for women. He based his training on ‘street’ situations, so it was a mixture of martial arts and stretwise wisdom.

In conversation with him one day, he explained to me that he always recommended that if theywere being attacked by someine with a knife, they should aim to kill them.

He said that it was unlikely that they would be able to, but if so, they’d be able to stand up in court to give their case. They couldn’t ifthey were dead.

    Simple logic, but love it.
