Why I Go MIA From Time to Time

Hi everyone! I thought I would post a blog today because several people got worried when I disappeared. I know I’m either emailing daily or I fall off the face of the Earth. The reason is I focus on something. In this case, it’s PLR and the Branding Challenge and answering emails. I have the Branding Challenge closed to everyone who’s not participating, but I SO wish I could share those blog posts with you!

Branding Challenge

It’s amazing how it’s unfolding – slower than 30 days because this is the guinea pig stage, but AMAZING at the revelations people are having about how to pursue their online business. I’ve seen some growth in people that’s incredible for such a short time. I was also thinking of releasing a week at a time for sale to the public, so when we’re finished with the first 7 days’ worth, that gets released. I have a lot of people wanting in who missed the initial launch, so this may be a way for them to do it.

And since I want it affordable, I’ll probably do $1 per day, so the first week’s worth would be $7. Then if they want to move on, they can buy week 2, and so on. Once it’s all finished, I’ll probably just sell it as one 30-day pack, period. Let me know if you think you might want in on the week pack.

Protected My List Again

I got asked by a well known marketer I’d never interacted with before if I would promote their site in return for “pretty much anything I wanted.” He’d been told by many people that I was the one to go to because I had a list of stay at home mom types. It’s one of the many freelance sites, where marketers get cheap writing – like REAL cheap.

I had no clue what it was, so I checked it out. I told him no. My reason? It encouraged writers to write for way less than I advise. I explained my position – what Ghostwriting Cash was all about (getting paid MORE) and he asked what I felt WAS a fair price. I told him I advise writers to start out at $7-10 and scale up to $30. I even advised that he implement a top tier program and not only did writers have to prove themselves to use it, but buyers did too!

Anyway – just want you to know, I don’t trade my list for “pretty much anything I want.” I’d rather hold onto your trust than throw it away for my own greed. I hope you do the same with your own list – don’t abuse their trust. I could have easily blasted my list one time and hundreds of you would have signed up to it. That’s not what’s in your best interest. I sleep good at night :)

How Long Have I Been Doing Internet Marketing?

I am SO bad with time. Someone asked this so let me see. I quit work in 1999 and started working online as a ghostwriter. I know I joined Warrior Forum when I made the announcement that I was quitting working for others and becoming a marketer myself. Warrior Forum says I joined in October 2006, so it’s been five years of fulltime marketing on my own?

I guess part of my ghostwriting time was spent marketing myself in a way because I was marketing my services, branding my name, networking, and becoming a leader in my service niche. So I’d say 12 years! Hindsight is always 20/20 – lots of shortcuts I wish I’d known but those bumps and bruises along the way helped me.

For instance, getting screwed by marketers mySELF as a freelancer made me fiercely protective of MY students. If I’d have everything handed to me, I may have thought it was perfectly normal to promote for “friends” regardless of what they sold, etc. Who knows? I know I’m proud of my down moments that I felt hopeless and didn’t quit during, though.

PLR ATM Student Questions Someone Submitted

1.) With respect to PLR, why would potential customers want to buy PLR from me when they can go to any website and buy it directly?

Well you’ll be one of many websites they DO buy from. PLR buyers are not loyal to just one entity for the most part (this is a good thing). They go around to many resources and find information in their niche and buy it all up – because it’s so cheap, they can afford to do that! If they find five excellent providers, they’re happy!

2. ) Backlinks – I know (or at least) I think backlinks are extremely important for one’s website to get visibility. I tried using the link juicer but I ended up cancelling my subscription as it is not intuitive at all and I have yet to find a help desk. So my question is what do you do for backlinks?

I don’t. I post the packs and build my list. Most of my customers find my PLR through Google or through a signature file link when I participate on Warrior Forum. I also have my email list set to blast a Tweet out, too.

3.) Finally last question – do you make any changes to the PLR that you buy and resell or do you just resell with no change or sometimes make changes and brand as your own?

I don’t buy and resell PLR – I have a rule that people can’t buy and pass along PLR right to my own PLR. When I use PLR that I have bought in the past, it was as is on a niche website for something like Amazon products.

Is There a Better Day and Time to Run a WSO?

Just got asked this again and it’s a frequent question. My answer is, maybe – I don’t know. Not much help, am I? Personally, I never worry too much about this. I usually post mid-morningish – not first thing, when people are waking up and bumping WSOs. I want that rush to move through first. And I don’t usually post on a Friday or Saturday night. But I heard everyone before saying Tuesday morning was best so what happened? A slew of Tuesday morning people flooded the WSO section. LOL!

As a WSO scanner, I move through and look at several pages’ worth to see what’s posted since last time I was there OR I use the search function, so the keywords in the title are important.

Angel Fund

I’m vetting some more people for use of the Angel Fund right now. Will let you know if more funds are used for it.

Congratulations

Want to give a big shout out to Racquel today – she’s having success after two years of learning IM and now using my course. She’s ghostwriting and had a great story about standing up against lesser money (and they hired her anyway) and I thought that was fantastic! So good for you, Racquel! Keep up the success ;)

Hang Out With Me?

I will be doing a Google Plus hang out tonight if you’re on. I’ve never done it before. Probably around 7ish? PM – Texas Standard time. You’ll need to go circle me on G+ and I’ll circle you back and then when you see my Hang out, you join it. First time for me- be gentle. Just thought we could get to know each other, say hi, all that jazz :)

And no, I won’t be wearing a Halloween mask – it’s just my face :)

Linked In PLR

It’s coming tomorrow or later today – I’ll put it in its own post ;)

Great to read the update :) I won’t be around for your hangout (I’ll be asleep!) but have fun!

Love your ethics with your list. I’ve been getting a lot more people asking me to promote stuff lately (seems so weird that they’d ask me!) and I am having to do the same with weeding people out.

And the branding challenge – well you know how I feel about that. It’s completely different to what I had hoped. I knew it’d be good but I didn’t realise it’d be so good. It’ll be worth so much when you release it as a full product.

  • Ah Tiff,

I would love to hang out with you guys tonight but I am going on my first legitimate Paranormal investigation tonight. I need to be at my location tonight by 6. Hope to catch you on your next one. Good to hear from you again and your PLR ATM Course ROCKS!

  • Hi Tiff,
I was one of the concerned ones. Wanted to be sure everything was alright. You have us a little spoiled being use to hearing from you at least daily.:) But you deserve your precious moments to get away.

Thanks for watching over us with that motherly love. I want to be like you when I grow up!

Still working on the challenge. Lots of reading and site searching.

Do you answer questions about certain people we encounter on line? Whether they are good or bad eggs? Or is it proper to ask?
    Thanks again!

  • Sharon says:

I’ll start with the branding challenge: I’m with Ruth there it is REALLY very good! After going through a few days of the challenge, I vascillated between branding my PLR site or branding me. I’ve decided to brand my plr site as a test run then brand me later. I am learning so much and can’t wait for you to bring out the first set so I can tell my list about it.

I had no idea you had been online for so long. I made you my official mentor :) and I’m glad I did. There’s just so much to learn from you.

Thanks for posting the questions; I never resell PLR articles too and prefer to research and write from fresh.

I hope I’ll be able to hangout but I’m not sure. It’s 7am my time and that’s when Prince Charming (my 3wk old son) has his longest nap so mummy can also sleep some. But if I’m up, I’ll definitely be there.

Congrats to Racquel! Great to hear stories like yours.

  • Hey Tiffany! Loving the branding course – there is so much value there!

I am glad that you didn’t promote a site designed to hire cheap writers!! THANK YOU!!!! (I wonder if it is the same one I fumed about on my blog).

I also added you on Google + (I don’t really get on there much, so excuse the low count in my “circles) :)

    Keep inspiring!

  • Nathan says:

I love the stories when people get the money that they deserve for their talent. There are so many people selling themselves short!

I love when you answer questions on PLR. I started my store over a month ago and I have already had a great response – it’s really woke me up! I wan’t expecting all the great feedback.

I’ve been used to just relaxing putting sites together and now I’m back to writing again! The direct interaction with people is something that I haven’t really experienced before so it’s been great fun so far.

I don’t think I’ll be hanging out tonight because I will probably be asleep at that time but I’ll see how it goes.

  • Thanks for the update Tiff! Glad to know everything’s okay and that you’ve just been an extra busy girl! Have to admit that when I don’t see an email from you, I often check your blog in case I missed it or something.

Can’t wait to delve back into the branding challenge! This week I was down and out in the dark with a 2 1/2 day migraine (ugh), and just began getting back into the swing of things last night & of course playing catch up with work. Thank goodness for my awesome eye concealer to drown out migraine hangover dark circles!

The Google hang out sounds fun and daring for me! Hopefully I can be around for some of it, if I get back in time from driving my older boys & their friends to Knotts Scary Farm.

  • Hi Tiff,

I never tire of hearing you say how you can’t be bought. That is so commendable. It takes inner fortitude as I can see how it would be so tempting. I admire you for it and have confidence in you because of it.

Can’t be on the chat with you tonight as we are having company. But I’d love to do it. If it works out, please do it again.

    Debbie

    • Tiffany says:

Hey Debbie! Thank you :) And I tell you about that because I want you to know the situations that can come YOUR way and how to best handle them. Some people would get intimidated if a big name marketer contacted them like that, worried about saying no.

  • LindaP says:

    Hi, Tiffany,

I plan to be on the Hang Out tonight. You’re really sneaky, you know? I have been putting off Google+ and you twisted my arm. LOL.

    I look forward to it.

    Linda

  • Joe Ditzel says:

I’m like you. If I’m working on a big project, I go into the bunker and don’t come out until it’s done haha.

  • Rach72 says:

Thanks for the update – glad to hear that you didn’t go on holiday without us (again!) ;)

Will miss the catch up – 1pm on a Sunday for us so I can’t blame sleep, but I can happily blame the kids and hubby – its family time. One of the disadvantages of working at home is that you spend too much time at work! So we have family time where Mom has to be fully engaged – no laptop or excuses allowed!

    Have fun!

    Rach

  • Gaynor says:

    Hi Tiff,
I am loving your stuff but at the moment just have not got the time to do all I want to.

I would love to give my site to someone who really is in need of some help. So if anyone is struggling and would like to have my site I would be glad to give them a start.

They can get in touch through my site and we can get it sorted.

But please, this is just for someone who really needs a helping hand.

    Gaynor

  • Stan says:

Hey Tiff, Sorry about that Rangers info. Yahoo sports was still showing stats from an earlier game and hadn’t updated to todays game.

  • jan says:

    Hi Tiff
I missed your chat because our Internet was down again! 11 days of problems, 1 week ok then off again! The technician spent half a day here this time fixing the phone line so hopefully it is fixed this time for good!! He has looked at the problem a lot more thoroughly than any of the previous techs.

I did wonder where you were and hopped on your blog and saw daily posts for your branding challenge so figured you were pretty busy with that but good to hear from you. I think I would be interested in having a look at the branding challenge and $7 for a week is very affordable. When you offered it I just felt as if I couldn’t take on one more thing at the time.

I think I might know who was offering the PLR writing – if it’s the same one you start getting paid at $2 per article, but can “quickly go up to $5″. I don’t think so. I am on the list because I purchased a couple of tools a while back. We know that you would never sell us out for a few dollars anyway :)

    • Tiffany says:

      Oh how frustrating Jan!

    • Joanne Reid says:

Hmm — I wonder if we have the same provider. Had this internet hooked up 12 days ago and the repair guy was here once already and it was down again yesterday so I missed the Hang Out. It is on this a.m. and they are sending a new modem. Third one in a dozen days. So frustrating.

      Cheers
      Joanne

  • Mark Upshaw says:

Thank you for not selling your list for quick cash. I just got rid of everyone that I was following this week that attempted to sell me a WSO that was weak over the past few months. The Warriors Forum and WSO’s are rife with awful/weak content from people simply selling hope and no substance. Unfortunate. And yes, I am one of those that simply buys because someone that I trust tells me it is of great value. You have not steered me wrong in your recommendations. Thanks for leading by example.

  • Danny McConnell says:

    Hey Tiff,

Well, I was wondering if anyone would drag me into +1, and now you’ve gone and done it. Love it when I get on a chat and spend the whole time trying to get my equipment to work! Looked like you guys were having fun, though.

Every time I get a mailing on the “writing site who shall not be named”, I shudder a bit. I have checked it out a time or two out of curiosity, and while it is amazing the number of people who will work for little or nothing, what truly floors me is the offers there. Some people really care little for their fellow man.

    Dan

  • Joanne Reid says:

I got a great offer from a marketer I trusted offering up a great writing opportunity on their new website and the astounding thing was the offer of payment — $4 for an article. Yikes. I was shocked!!! Maybe it was the same person you did not engage with. You’ve set a new standard for trusting people and it is greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Tiffany,

I’ve followed you for quite awhile. I admire your ethics and the way you interact here on your blog. Just wanted you to know that I appreciate you and what you do!

I got the PLR ATM course quite awhile ago and am ashamed to say that only this past week have I completely finished getting it up and running. DLGuard is working and Aweber too – what a relief!

I know I wouldn’t have been able to do it without your course! The book and your videos helped but the positive comments that I’ve read on your blog inspired me to FINALLY get my butt in gear.

When I checked my email this morning, I found out that I sold my first pack. I was so excited because you know there’s always that doubt as to whether anyone will really buy.

Anyway sorry for being so long-winded and thanks for listening.

Finally, is it too late to get a link for PLR Sources?

    Thanks.
    Carolyn

  • Kathy says:

Tiff the Branding Course is nothing short of brilliant! I’m really enjoying it and learning so much. I’ve branded me on my main site and also on another one I’m just launching. I have a couple of sites under different names, I’ll think about them later.

I’m sorry I missed the hangout. I’m not sure what time it would have been here. I didn’t go near the laptop over the weekend as my son came home for some home cooked food and to do his washing. I remember doing the same thing when I was his age! :)

As someone up above said, I’m using you as my mentor. Our values are the same and your online experience is helping me in many ways.

    Thanks for being you!

  • Tiff,
You are sneaky, as mentioned above. I too have been putting off learning this new mode of conversation, but I will be there tonight if can figure it out between now and 9 pm est.

    Holly

  • Janice says:

Look, girl you tell your boys (them Gurus) that not all your people are stay at home moms! They got some bad info. Thanks for protecting me. I hate all the product emails I get. My inbox looks horrible!

I love the word NO when warranted. You really seem to have a grasp on that. :)

  • Bob Steele says:

Just want to say THANK YOU for not selling us out!!! I certainly respect how you handle your list. A VERY GOOD lesson for the rest of us, as we grow our own list.

    Thank You Again

    Bob

  • Sam says:

Another informative post. I like the idea that you don’t share your list with others. Keeping your followers from being harassed by other marketers is a absolute must.

  • hagar says:

    Hi Tiff,
back when I joined GWC, I hit Guru and Elance with brave and high hopes – Elance I didn’t do so well, but I still have the first four full-price clients I got on Guru.
I DID take a couple of 7-dollar for 500 words on both sites until I got a couple of ratings, then went to fifteen per 500 – and it’s stayed there ever since.
I still get the “dollar-per-thousand-word” offers from time to time; I thank them for their interest, and explain my rate is three cents a word – period. I still sell them articles sometimes, and if I don’t – I damn sure didn’t want them anyway LOL
Had I taken one of the “costs-me-less-in-India” jobs, I would have burnt out in a couple of months – and missed a great time writing interesting stuff.
Sorry I missed out on the +1 thing; I have like thirty names on my circle, and have never figured out what to do next – I keep forgetting to look it up.

  • Carl Pruitt says:

I finally got smart and got off all the lists that weren’t at least somewhat related to the business models I’m working on. Thank you Tiffany for being a breath of fresh air with your concern over protecting your list. I have to think that over the long haul you’ll end up netting much more money per subscriber that way.
