Why You Need Digital Download Protection

When you’re learning the step-by-step process to get your own info product up and running online, you start hearing about how to design your download pages and ways to upsell on them, etc. That’s all well and good but what you really need is to consider digital download protection. You might be a nice person (so am I) – you’re honest and would never THINK of ripping off someone’s work. But let me tell you there are a LOT of people who aren’t so ethical.

For some reason,  they feel entitled to your digital download as a freebie. Maybe it’s because it’s not tangible. Maybe it’s because their mother dropped them on their head when they were young.  Your guess is as good as mine.  And here’s the kicker – not only will THEY download it for free, but they’ll go on forums and share the download page with others, making sure you lose out on ALL sorts of sales.

Enter Sam Stephens to the rescue. Sam developed this cool digital download protection tool called DLGuard and here’s how it works:

You buy it once and use it on all of your sites. Each time you have a new product, you do the same things you normally do – you upload the file to the server for your hosting account. You put the digital product on ClickBank or PayDotCom or whatever. But you ALSO enter it on DLGuard. Where ClickBank asks for your thank you page, you’ll put the DLGuard link. And then here’s what happens:

When someone orders, they don’t get taken to a download page. They get taken to a thank you page where you tell them to watch their inbox for the donwload link. They still give you the possibility to upsell or whatever marketing savvy tactic you want to implement – but as far as downloading your product, it’s SAFE.

The digital download protection device Sam created emails them a temporary download link where YOU have chosen how long they have to download it. Some people recommend something like 3 hours but I say give them a full 24 hours. This is because some people order and come back later to download (they’re busy). So if you limit it to too little time, you’ll get lots of hate email.

I love my DLGuard. Now there are others on the market, but I don’t know of anyone who offers the same kind of stellar customer service and whose product is so easy a tech dummy like me can use it with ease.

Tiff :)
