WP Robot Update – WOW!

I am SO excited. Remember on April 1st I posted about the WP Robot plugin here? Well I set and forgot it and today I decided to check in on it. Found out some AWESOME stuff!

I was thinking this would just pacify Google in seeing that my site was getting a nice steady flow of new content. But what I discovered was that the WP Robot – bare boned version that I got with Amazon only – got me on page 1 in Google SERPs for MANY specific product names! Very impressive, WP Robot!

Watch this video as I show you via Scroogle.org how many keyword phrases I rank on page 1 for now – and I had mine set to post not on a daily basis, initially. I love it. And for those of you who are newbies, don’t fear this – it’s easy to install and use and it gives step by step instructions. I was using mine in less than 30 minutes total and that includes family interruptions :)

Tiff, this is totally amazing. Even if one doesn’t use it to autoblog or not, it’s still an unbelievable content research tool. I’m all for having a robot do my research for me!

  • Debra Conrad says:

Hi Tiff… I just don’t get it. I was all excited about this WP plugin… but I went to Google and Scrooble and very carefully typed in the keywords – like hamilton beach single serve blender.

Nothing – your site didn’t show in any of my searches with 100 results. I’m mystified.

It’s obvious your getting traffic… The mysteries of search engines – huh?

If I hadn’t seen your results I would say “baloney”. I still like the plugin – so I’m thinking on it. LOL.

    • Tiffany says:

Weird! Scroogle (not Scrooble) shows me on page 1 – it’s supposed to strip away Google’s web 3.0 personalization results. I’m definitely getting traffic :) Odd! LOL

  • Debra Conrad says:

I know it’s not scroogle – (had to check) because I found you at #7 for purple toilet seats. LOL… go figure.

    I think it’s a Texas thing.

    ROFLOL – Ha… I crack myself up.

    Hey Tiff,

I purchased WP Robot after reading your review 4/1/10 and installed it last weekend. After reading this post I decided to check Amazon and I sold a $400 treadmill! What a great way to start they day!

Thank you so much for all the information you give out freely. You give more than most membership sites.

  • Barbara says:

This sounds great. I have set up a wordpress blog but have also contacted godaddy as to how to host it as from personal experience I cannot ftp (I had a lot of professionals involved and no luck.) If godaddy can do it for me I will get the robot under your link Tiff. It sounds wonderful.

  • Lewis Smile says:

I bought WP Robot when you first mentioned it, the full elite version [with the developer license] because ]

I’m building it right into all YourNicheBlog.com blogs from now on!

I’m building an example/test site with it, using all the modules available, and it’s turning out really well.

Tiff – I buy a lot of the stuff you recommend :)

    Thanks!

    • Tiffany says:

Awesome, Lewis! I got a couple more emails from peple who bought it and made sales but didn’t post here – but it’s cool that it’s working.

  • Gail says:

I finally bought WPRobot today. Got two modules an was all excited to start setting it up on some of my blogs. But I can’t install it! I get an error message – so I went to the WPRobot support forum and someone else had asked the questions so I did what they said and it still doesn’t work. I am getting quite frustrated.

I don’t know how to FTP – I just upload the plug-ins on the WP page. And it isn’t there but it says it is so now I can’t try again!

Tiff I know you say you aren’t that “techie” so how did you get it to work?

    Gail

  • Jonel says:

    Hey Tiffany,

Great to see your having success with this plugin. I checked both Google & Scroogle and yes, you are listed in the top 5 in each for that very l-o-n-g-t-a-i-l phrase. ;)

Is it really just “set & forget” as you say? Seems to me you’d need to vary your content, as well as, add your own original stuff to show up for more popular (searched) keywords.

I agree with Bruce, “…an unbelievable content research tool.”

    • Tiffany says:

The Longtail phrase in this case is what Craig Kaye teaches in IPK. Product/model # searches. I do and will be adding original articles to the blog too – but this fills the gap when I can’t.

  • Gail says:

    Thanks for the response Tiff.

And then the other problem you had will probably be my next problem once I get the first one figured out, so I am glad for that answer too.

In addition to my non-techie status I have a Mac. I love it, but it does present its own set of problems for many IM things!

  • Jonel says:

Yep, I’m an IPK devotee! Can see how the plugin could be very useful, using it as you’ve pointed out.

Thanks, Tiffany, you always supply great info.

  • Bryan says:

    @Gail
You might be uploading the folder which has your folder in it. Before you upload the folder make sure that you’re uploading the appropriate folder and not the folder which had the folder in it…Confused yet? I know I am…Let me explain…When you first download a wp-plugin it usually comes zipped. When I extract it I usually set up a folder within my plugin’s folder on my harddrive…so for example You’d download WP Robot. You now have a ziped folder named WP Robot. Before downloading the plugin I would create a folder named WP Robot within my plugins folder on my hard drive and the zipped folder would be downloaded and stored in it. I would then go to the WP Robot folder and click on the .zip file and choose to extract it here. This causes you to now have a folder called WP Robot within the storage folder you created called WP Robot. If you’re uploading the main storage folder that you created then wordpress wouldn’t see it…You need to upload the folder named WP Robot inside the storage folder named WP Robot…Hope that helped and didn’t confuse the heck outta ya…

  • Gail says:

Thanks Bryan for your suggestion. Just reading it once was confusing, but if I “study” it I could probably figure it out.

However, I just went back to the forum to see if anything new had been posted about this problem and found out it IS my Mac!

From the Forum: “That is because WordPress does not like files that have been zipped on a mac (they contain an extra folder or something).”

They have given us a fix so I am going to try that.

So Mac users – look at the forums and get the right files before you try to install your WPRobot to WordPress.

  • Gail says:

The fix from WPRobot worked. Now onto setting things up on my blogs.

  • David says:

    Hi Gail -

I’m a fellow Mac user with over a dozen WordPress sites, and I upload plugins to my sites constantly, sometimes using FTP but mostly uploading from within the WordPress panel. I’ve never had an issue that was attributable to using the Mac, other than the usual software being available “for windows only” problem. But this doesn’t come into play when your in WordPress.

I’m glsd their fix worked for you, but MOST of the time when someone tells you it’s because your using a Mac, it’s just an easy out for them not to deal with your issue. When your working within your WordPress panel, or uploading via FTP, the web is platform ignorant. It doesn’t know or care what computer it’s getting the content from.

Just another two cents from a fellow Mac user.

  • David says:

    Hey Tiff -

Do you know if WPRobot will allow you to “hold” articles it pulls in to allow you time to read them before they’re posted to your site, or if they are just automatically posted before you can decide if they’re right for your blog?

Because it only pulls from Articlebase.com, I went there and did a search for my keywords. Many of the articles that came up I would prefer not to post, but I don’t see anyway to be selective about them. Narrowing the keywords cuts out desirable articles as well.

What would be ideal is to have it pull articles and hold them for my approval before going live.

Anyone have any thoughts? I couldn’t find an answer on the WpRobot site.

    • Tiffany says:

      Hi David!

I’m not sure about that – I don’t use the article base option. I ONLY use Amazon – it’s all I wanted. You might ask in the WP Robot forum.

  • Tina says:

Hey Tiffany, I confused. Sorry I am new to this stuff but are you using both netblazer and wordpress blogs? I thought netblazer was the solution to not having to build wordpress (with WP Robot) blogs. Can I ask why you are using both. Thanks.

    • Tiffany says:

      Hi Tina!

Yes I use both Network Blazer and also WordPress blogs. Network Blazer was what saved me from having to build ALL of my content on web 2.0 sites like Squidoo lenses (although I like variety – I still use Squidoo too, but more of a testing ground and backlinker than a whole business model).

With WordPress, I only use it on my OWN domain – never on WordPress.com or .org whichever it is where you build the blogs – because they can delete you without warning. The planyourchristmas.com is a wordpress blog – but they can’t control my content, etc.

I use Network Blazer to build product sites. PYC was about many different products.

  • Marc says:

    WP Robot rocks!

Using the Amazon module on several sites and is works very nice, only probs is the title sometimes gets really long depending on the product and looks more like a paragraph.

The “free” ClickBank module only pulls the affiliate offer in w/no pics. Not so keen on that one.

Do not expect search engines to love you with this, do your own back linking and offline promo to really make it work.

BTW, on Hostgator and using WordPress w/no issues.

  • Gail Hess says:

    Hi David,

Thanks for your 2 cents worth on the Mac. I have a PC desktop and laptop, but I got my Mac because I didn’t want to work on the PC! My new mantra is “if it doesn’t work on my Mac to heck with you!” LOL!

As to your question about putting the articles on hold – what I have done is put everything as a draft and then publish after I look at stuff. Some of those article are ghastly!

And as Marc said – the titles of some of the Amazon stuff are very long – so I edit them a bit before publishing.

Doing it that way takes longer, but I feel that my website looks better for it.

  • I have a Mac and I run the few Windows programs I cant live without on there also….but when it came to upload the files I didnt have a problem.

My only problem I had was adding get my amazon items to post…it was making me angry.

  • Sounds impressive – and from the comments here like it works too. Tiff – do you know how this plugin compares to Reviewazon?

  • Desmond says:

Hey Tiff when you get a chance could you do a video on how you would setup a wprobot amazon site?

    Desmond

  • David says:

    Hey Tiff -

I found the answer to my earlier question above in the online documentation, of all places. I gotta start reading those things more oftem.

WP Robot DOES let you set “New Post Status”, in any module, to Draft. This allows you to review the incoming post before it goes live. You can publish it or delete it.

I just bought WP Robot through your link. You silver-tongued charmer.

  • Charity says:

    Tiffany,

I have the Reviewazon plugin and was wondering if you know how this is different from the bulk product posting options in that plugin? I like the WPRobot but don’t want to buy it if it is not really different…..

  • David says:

I’ve also found another WP plugin called WP Amaniche that builds an Amazon affiliate site in just a few minutes. A Warrior Forum member wrote it.

It lets you determine exactly what you want brought in from Amazon; photos, product description, price, avg rating, accessories, etc. It will post user reviews as comments, if you choose.

You can backdate the posts. You can pull in 100 or 200 products, choose the ones you want to post, then let them drip onto your site at the rate you choose. It’s got a bug or two, but the guy is constantly updating, and his support is good, including a forum.

I’ve only built one site with it so far but like it very much. I am NOT an affiliate on this product, and have nothing to gain. You can find it on WF if you’re interested.

Just thought I’d throw another one into the mix, just to keep things confused.

  • Charity – I have reviewazon too and from what I can see we have t manually set up the bulk posts but this one draws them automatically.

Tiff – quick question. Are you going to concentrate on building your own IPK style sites now (perhaps using this plugin) instead of the Squidoo lenses? I know you made some nice earnings from your IPK lenses but I’m not sure whether to start doing it given the fact they could change their TOS at any time and delete all my hard work!

  • Tiffany says:

Clare I’ll still be doing both but using Squidoo as more of a product testing ground instead of say, picking one niche and building a whole slew of lenses on that because then if they nix a topic, ALL my work is gone.

  • Doug says:

Does the robot work with wordpress.com as well as .org

  • Jill says:

Tiffany, I just happen to find your site, this program is awesome. I bought it though your link now I’m setting up and referring back to your Christmas page.

I’m so new at this I was wondering what keywords you used to get BonJour Primo Latte Frother, Rechargeable Includes Electric Base.

Its still confusing, I would like to pull up more items in that category.
    thanks jill

    • Tiffany says:

Hey Jill! I did some sort of category thing. I did the top level of coffee makers for instance. I don’t remember exact directions but I do remember I got the instructions off WP Robot.
