  • Avoiding Duplicate Content on Web 2.0 Sites

    By Tiffany | August 22, 2008

Emma asks, “Thanks for the information! I’ve been following your advice, gotten through Squidoo, hubpages, and blogging. However, now I’m running into an issue: If I create a lens and a hub for the same keyword, how do I avoid duplication of information? It doesn’t seem right to have links from my website to a lens and a hub with exactly the same information. What are your thoughts? ~Emma”

Thanks for the question, Emma! There are two solutions for you:

You don’t want to put the exact same content on a lens and Hub - or anywhere on the ‘net for that matter. You have to learn how to write the same thing in a different way. It can discuss the exact same concepts, though!

Let me give you an example: Top 5 Diet Tips (I’ll do it two ways for you):

For a lens, you might have these: (1) Burn More Calories Than You Eat (2) Exercise for an Hour a Day (3) Avoid White Foods (4) Shop on the Outer Edges of the Grocery Store (5) Listen to Your Hunger Cues.

For a Hub, take those exact same 5 ideas and make them this: (1) Eat Less, Exercise More (2) Get in an Hour of Cardio Daily (3) Don’t Eat Sugar or White Bread (4) Stay Clear of Processed Foods (5) Adhere to Normal Eating Patterns

It may take some practice for you - you may have to use the synomym feature on your word processor, but learn how to say the same thing using different words.

    Or, here’s another solution:

Let’s say your keyword is diet plans. On your lens, your slant can be “Top 5 diet plans” and on your Hub it can be “Why Many Diet Plans Never Work.” Your Ezine Article might be “Which Diet Plans Harm Your Health?” and your blog entry could be “Reviews of the Best and Worst Diet Plans.”

Your goal is to get the hyperlink anchored in your keyword phrase and pointing to your site.

    Does this help?

In Light of My Recent Breast Cancer Scare…

    By Tiffany | August 21, 2008

I just donated $100 to the Amanda Jones WSO where she’s raising money in her walk for Breast Cancer here.

    Here’s what Amanda says:

“For the third year in a row I’ll be participating in the Michigan Breast Cancer 3-Day. Starting on Friday, September 26, 2008, my little feet will travel 60 miles over the course of 3 days.

My goal: To raise $2200 and make a difference in the war against breast cancer and to remember those who’ve both won and lost the battle. I’m one of the lucky ones–my mom is a breast cancer survivor. Unfortunately for my teammate Carrie, her mom didn’t live to see a cure.”

If you need something in exchange for it, you can get the free squeeze page templates she’s giving away, or just do it just because.

    Good luck, Amanda!

Someday - those funds might go to help someone like the woman who sat next to me in the waiting room. After I was given the all clear, I overheard the doctors telling her that her good news was that her tumor hadn’t grown anymore. And that was the GOOD news. It made me sad.

    Basic Good Old Traffic Advice

    By Tiffany | August 2, 2008

Hi everyone! Look, you know I’m a web 2.0 enthusiast. I like it because it’s free and easy - what could be better? So here is a tip on what to do to build links to your site and increase the traffic flow.

Note: This is a long-term endeavor, not a quick fix! Growth and organic traffic building takes time and that’s a good thing - because Google likes to see natural growth, not an overnight flood of links and pages pointing to your domain (they get suspicious about that).

So here’s what you do over time:

First, you need to compile a big list of keywords to use all over the net. Spend like a full day doing this.
    Use this tool among others:

    https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Then let me show you an example of what to do for EACH keyword:

Take this keyword phrase for example: female hair loss

Here’s what you make out of each keyword:

1 Lens on Squidoo JUST about female hair loss

1 page on Hub Pages JUST about female hair loss

1 Knol on Google Knol JUST about female hair loss

1 Article on Ezine Articles JUST about female hair loss (you can also post more articles on other article directories but EZA is the king for now)

And if you have a blog, which you should? 1 blog post about female hair loss, too!

1 Article on your domain using LSI (google it if you’re not familiar with it - it’s all about themes on your site)

Then you cross-promote all this stuff. This is a LONG process, but if you want to dominate, it takes time and Google doesn’t like overnight domination anyway - they might sandbox your site if you have too much growth too fast.

My advice? Gather your keywords one day - I mean everything related to your niche from broad keyword to long tail ones to brand names.

Take your list and hire a ghostwriter (cheap on Elance or hire me if I have a WSO running on it) to write unique content for you to turn into those 5 items I listed above (for a lens, you want three 250 word articles, same for a Hub. For a knol and an article directory, you want one long article - for a blog post, it can be 200 words or so).

Then just plug in their content, all of it linking to your domain. Do this for each keyword. This is what the big sites have - tons of links and content pointing to them.

Best Tool I’ve Bought in Two Years!

    By Tiffany | July 26, 2008

    Hi everyone!

I’m actually writing this blog post using a new software that I bought yesterday. It’s called Dragon Naturally Speaking, and I bought the mobile version 9. I could go on all day about how wonderful the software is and it was well worth the $249 I spent on it - and yes, I’m mad that it sells for only $183 on Amazon with free shipping, too.

All I have to do is wear a headset and talk into it and it types exactly what I’m saying. Do you realize how much increased productivity, we can all happen if everyone had the software?

I realize this is on the pricey side for many of us, but I believe it will increase my own content output by at least 400%. The best thing about it is I never have any down time since I bought the mobile version.

While you’re speaking, if you need to quit for a minute you just tell Dragon Naturally Speaking to go to sleep. Then when you’re ready to talk again you tell it to wake up.

I have more training to do, but it seems to work very fast and recognizing even my silly Southern twang.

I am recommending this software to everyone I know, not just because it helps with productivity, but it will also help many of you in being able to write a conversational style. I won’t go into how it will save my wrist, because I type so fast and furious and bang out up to 40 pages a day and content.

Someone asked me about the negative reviews they saw on Amazon for this product.  I’m not sure why people are having a hard time with it but I certainly love it.  I know most of the marketers that I know who use it also love it.

All I can think is that 183 people have purchased this particular version, and only about 10 reviews have come in about half of those negative and one by the same guy who posted twice.  I know I usually don’t leave a review unless it’s negative, because if something works, I usually don’t take the time to log in and sing praises about it.

I think I’ll login at Amazon today and give my own review.

    Tiff :-)

Using Pen Names as a Marketer

    By Tiffany | July 23, 2008

    Hi everyone!

One of my subscribers emailed me a great question and I wanted to share my thoughts about it with you.

    She asked:

“I know that I am going to sound extremely uncreative BUT, how do you figure out your pen names, and how/when to go into anonymity? They say to build credibility we should use our real name, but sometimes that makes me EXTREMELY nervous.”

Case Studies Are Where It’s At

    By Tiffany | July 22, 2008

Everyone’s doing it - come on, try just a little!

I’m talking about case studies! It’s all the rage now and it’s SMART and effective! We see it all the time in the make money niche - “Watch me make $28,037.25 in just three hours!”

But what about other niches? Craig Desory at www.IdiotProofBlogging.com is doing it right - he’s starting free, blogging, answering questions - proving he knows his shit.

I’m now doing it, too - hopped right onto that band wagon! I launched my diet blog here: www.diydietplan.com/blog and I’m using myself as my guinea pig. (Emphasis on the pig - just kidding).

    Proof!

We all want it. We’re all skeptical. When we all started talking in web 2.0 lingo, it was “peer-to-peer” this and that - and it still is! But it’s not enough to be just part of the crowd anymore. Consumers are onto us - they know we sneak around pretending to be one of them while flashing our pearly links all over the place.

Now, they want proof. You say you know how to lose weight? Oh yeah? How much weight have YOU lost and how did you do it? Prove it! You say you can decorate a cake in under 10 minutes? Show me, please! Otherwise I’m not shelling out a penny.

    That’s what they’re thinking.

Will you answer the call or continue trudging along with text and audio. There’s a reason they say you “have to see it to believe it.”

Case studies are your starting point now. How do you do it?

    1.) Start a blog - it’s FREE
2.) Start building a list from DAY ONE - it’s $19.95 at Aweber for unlimited lists - well worth it.
3.) Start social marketing about it - ALSO free - Twitter about it, make lenses, join relevant forums, build hubs - you get the picture.
4.) TALK about it. Gosh, so many people are afraid to start branding themselves as someone who knows their shit. You don’t have to fake it till you make it, but it’s OKAY to be honest and say, “I’m learning some great tricks to teach dogs and I’d like to share my knowledge with you.”

LET them see you BECOME the guru. You don’t have to be one up front. People like watching success build - and if you social market your case study, they’ll feel connected - like they’re a part of it.

    Rick Butts Twitter

My diet news traveled fast. Can’t even count the emails, PMs, and blog posts about it - and I wound up getting to talk to one of my idols in marketing (Rick Butts) because he’d heard of me and what I was doing from someone else and look what he did - bless his little heart - he Tweeted his followers about me!

I came home and saw an email inbox of Twitter follower notices from HIS followers cheering me on. This was great news. People talk. Will they be talking about you?

Cool Social Marketing Pack by Alan Paterson

    By Tiffany | July 22, 2008

    Hey everyone!

Thanks for all the supportive emails, PMs, and blog comments for my diet journey - I feel so good about that even though I had a moment of panic last night after realizing I’d put myself in a swimsuit on my blog! Ack!

Anyway, yesterday amid my diet madness, I ordered this: Social Marketing Package from a great guy named Alan Paterson.

    For the $97, you get:

    1 Squidoo lens
    1 Weebly site
    1 Ning site
1 Wordpress blog hosted on wordpress
    1 Blogger blog
1 Article sent to ezine articles

…All with original content. How do I know Alan? He’s one of the people who came to me during my massive lens flipping mania and I bought many of his lenses and flipped them myself. (So if I bought them, you know they were good).

Anyway, I ordered and should ghet my package shortly, but I figured I’d let you all in on it since it’s a great deal - the content alone would cost you way more, but he’s setting it all up for you so you don’t have to mess with plugging it in (a real timesaver).

    Check it out!

Oh, and for those who are interested - you can follow my weight loss progress at http://www.diydietplan.com/blog - let’s cheer each other on if you have pounds to shed, too!

Brainstorm Session: How to Make Money Losing Weight

    By Tiffany | July 21, 2008

    Hi y’all!

Well as most people know (if you’ve seen my outdated pic), I’m overweight (by a lot - I have a whopping 130 pounds to lose). I’m embarking on an extreme program today (my doctor assured me I’m healthy despite my weight). It’s not an official diet or anything - I’m just going to push myself similar to how they do it on Biggest Loser, if you’ve ever seen that.

It will consist of eating a specific calorie count each day (1,200) and working out for about 2-3 hours per day. I plan to lose a lot of weight, fast. Don’t argue with me that it’s unhealthy, etc. I know the situation - and I’m doing it anyway. I’m a big girl - literally and figuratively.

Question is - how can I turn this experience into a money-making one? I have good writing abilities, so I can convey it to others in a good way. But should I do a blog and rely on affiliate and AdSense income or make it an eBook once I’m completely finished? Perhaps sell it as resale rights?

Since I’m following no specific diet “plan” per se, I’m not sure how I could market that.

I know the weight loss niche is big, but saturated. Still, it’s something that has potential. Since I’ll be devoting 3 hours a day to this topic in my life, I’d hate to just do it without connecting it to my income in some way. In fact, it will be motivating to know it’s somehow being turned into a product.

Why am I doing this? Aside from the superficial and emotional reasons, it’s hampering my business, too. I have turned down SO many seminar invitations (to be a speaker), invites to network in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I won’t do a video other than a screen capture because I’m ashamed of my weight, and that old pic you keep seeing of me and my husband on all my sales pages? It’s about 4 years and 45 pounds ago and I refuse to take a new updated picture of myself because it’s so humiliating and I have an irrational fear that it will negatively impact my sales and even friendships (I know it’s stupid, but it feels real).

So what’s your advice? I start at 12:30 PM today. I need to set up asap.

    Tiff ;)

P.S. - I bit the bullet and took my before pictures IN A SWIMSUIT! (Gulp!) If you have just eaten, please avert your eyes and even if not, I’m so sorry for what I’m about to show you. I might as well be nekkid on here because that’s how exposed I feel. I also gained some common sense about doing 3 hours and 1200 calories. lol That’s laughable. I got real really fast:

I’m Going on Vacation - Woot!

    By Tiffany | June 27, 2008

    Hi everyone!

Well tomorrow I pack up the biz and head off to Galveston Beach to celebrate my 38th birthday on the 3rd and the 4th of July, too. Should be a lot of fun. Like most entrepreneurs, I’m never “truly” off work anymore.

I will check into email from time to time, but I won’t respond to anything that’s not urgent.

A couple of things I wanted to let you know about before I go:

1.) When I return, I’ll be launching more in the series of http://www.MarketingMaze.com based on what you guys have said you need and want to learn about.

2.) It’s possible I’ll be launching a ghostwriting WSO. If I do, it’ll be a mix option of having an eBook written or articles, so if you’re considering outsourcing, you might keep that in mind.

3.) My business partner from BuildMyLens.com, Lewis Smile, has launched a cool new thing I wanted to tell you about. Awhile back, we did a couple of these automated blog sites together – I wrote the content, he made an autopilot machine for the marketer.

Well I am not going into this with him, but he’s launched a special offer on the Warrior Forum at http://www.warriorforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=255980 that lets people just buy the site operation. You use your own content.

This thing is amazing and one of the reasons I partner up with him whenever possible. It posts your posts for you, Twitters and bookmarks itself, and even translates your content into 22 different languages! (In fact, you might feel left out because you’re not needed anymore). It also comes with a guidebook and help blog so you don’t get stuck.

His full sales letter is here (but make sure if you’re interested you go buy from the Warrior Forum link above):

    http://www.yournicheblog.com

Anyway – those of you who know Lewis know how amazing his blend of technical prowess and creative genius is, so you can trust that his offer is one of a kind.

I’m out the door to stock up on sunblock (thanks to my previous skin cancer scare) and possibly get a swimsuit (oh the horror).

Will chat with you when I get back – have a great week ahead!

    Work at Home TRUTHS

    By Tiffany | June 17, 2008

Work at Home TruthsWell I’ve gone and done it. I launched my latest eBook - the first in a series of what will unravel every step of Internet Marketing from the very beginning in exact detail.

I get so many great communications via email from people at every skill level, and instead of hopping around from social site to social site and method to method, I wanted to back up, and map it all out from step 1.

That’s what Work at Home Truths is all about.

I know you’re seeing a lot of images of people frolicking at the beach with their laptop, seeing screen shots of (cough, cough - Photoshopped) earnings…and yeah, some of them are 100% true, but many are not!

It’s discouraging a lot of people who want SO badly to get into IM but don’t see that promised overnight success. I even saw one person post this week that they were suicidal over their failures in
the Warrior Forum the other day! (None of us know if it was real, but I always take things seriously just in case).

Well I’m posting the Work at Home Truths eBook in the WSO (Warrior Special Offer) section initially so that you save money and find out what it’s REALLY like to work from home.

I make great money, but it’s not a red carpet life.

I don’t believe you’re sheep in a herd. I believe you want the truth - it’s not like you’re five and need to believe in the money fairy. You’re a grown-up, is it too much to have someone be honest with you
and expose the warts of what this business has to offer?

    Want to know the truth?

Tips on Using PLR Content in Your Blog

    By Tiffany | May 31, 2008

If you own a blog for your business, one of the best ways you can monetize it, or boost revenue, is to use PLR content. You can find many types of PLR material being offered, and some of it’s perfect for use on your blog.

Almost any topic you can think of has some type of PLR content already made for inclusion on your blog. There are several ways that you can go about using the PLR content, but the one way NOT to use it is to stick it up on your blog just as you receive it.

You’ll need to make certain adjustments, or even rip it all apart and put it back together again. Does that sound too complicated?  Well, truthfully, it isn’t hard to do at all, and you’ll probably be surprised at how quickly it can be done.

You can purchase PLR articles and use them for content, after an initial amount of rewriting is done. Some people only change about 30% of the content, while I prefer to use the PLR content as more of a research tool.

Rewriting the articles doesn’t take very long, and they can be a great catalyst to break you out of writer’s block very quickly. After you have changed the articles, you can do one of several things:

1.) You can set them up to auto post to your blog, giving you extra content on a regular basis

2.) You can create a free report to give away as a subscriber freebie

3.) You can add a few more finishing touches to create a product for sale from your blog. By adding a few graphics and fleshing out the content you can have a new product up and running fairly quickly. Throw in a professional eBook cover and offer resale rights, and your product could fly off the digital bookshelf at a surprising rate!

Something that’s particularly hot in the IM industry now is video. By creating videos using the PLR content you buy, you can either put it on your site as a paid member’s only section, or offer the PLR rights to the videos.

If you’re a bit unsure about the video, then you can also recreate the PLR content as audio content. Creating PLR content for download into the iPod and personal MP3 players is a great way to get people to your blog, and you can also make it available as paid content.

People are already accustomed to paying for audio downloads, so they should have no qualms paying for yours. Using PLR content on your blog is a great way to not only attract visitors, but to feed the loyal visitors that you already have.

You can make PLR work for you, and boost your blog’s income. It’s all in using the PLR that’s readily available, and putting your own touches on it to make it unique. You can find Private Label Rights articles, report, and autoresponders for all kinds of niche markets on PLRMiniMart.com at about $1 a page.

    Best Guides to Google AdWords

    By Tiffany | May 27, 2008

As per my email to my list regarding pay per click, here are the top Google AdWords guides fellow Warriors and marketers recommended to me:

Perry Marshall’s Definitive Guide to AdWords looks like the #1 choice among marketers, but there were others, too:

“Perry Marshall’s basic guide is pretty good but I know there are many other good ones about. I’m actually looking for a decent advanced one myself.”

“Perry Marshall’s book is definitely the go-to source. Much of what I’ve read in the way of eBooks on AdWords is merely adapting or outright plagiarizing Marshall’s work.”

“First I’d go for Definitive Guide to Adwords - Perry Marshall - for beginners to intermediate. …in the long run, this is really good. …most of the books out there are just rehashed materials from Perry’s guide.”

Click here to get Perry’s free 5-day course on Google AdWords

Others that got recommended without additional commentary listed from Easy to Medium to Advanced:

    EASY:

Beating AdWords by Carson and Kyle
Google Money Pro – (Very good)
AdWords Miracle – Beginner (Very good)
Google Cash – Chris Carpenter (now in its 3rd version with lots of helpful information to get started – good for beginners and advanced)
    AdWords Checkmate - Howie Jackobson
Google Adwords 123 - Greg Haslen

    MEDIUM:

    Day Job Killer – Med
    Beating AdWords – Med
    AdWords Killer – Med
    Google Profits
AdWords Profits 2 - Jacobo Benitez
    Google Magic Formula

    ADVANCED:

    AdWords 180 – Adv
    My Google Tool

Affiliate Commandments (Good as a supplement and priced as one, too - under $10)

Those of you who have read any of these, feel free to add your insight, opinions, and recommendations to the comments section, too!

    Have a great week!

    You People Choke Me Up

    By Tiffany | May 20, 2008

I get so many emails from people.

Some need help building lenses on Squidoo. Others want to know how to make their own eBook. Some just want guidance on how to “be an Internet marketer.”

And sometimes people share so much in their emails. Their struggles, their hopes, their dreams. I take time to read the emails. I reply to them myself.

And I get choked up. I understand the worry about money, the self doubt and fear that threatens to cripple you, and the worthlessness you sometimes feel while you’re still trying to make it online.

Please know that if you’re sititng there in your home staring at the computer screen reading all these tales of untold wealth, that everyone had times of struggle before they made it. You’re not alone. But don’t let the anxiety poison your passion and enthusiasm and DREAMS to make this real.

Remember, 8 years ago I was sitting here holding an infant in my arms who had RSV (a respiratory illness) and I was wondering how we would pay the bills because I was NOT going back to work. I was going to be a work at home mom.

Now I’m watching my healthy, happy kids play in the backyard and we’re planning what to do on our vacation this summer, not how we’re going to juggle bill collectors.

    Dream it.

    Then do it.

I’m here for you if you need to vent.

Do you sit by on the sidelines watching other marketers cash in with their eBooks while your ideas ebb and flow, but never materialize?  Maybe you feel like you don’t have the expertise in any profitable area.

Or perhaps you don’t even know what is profitable when it comes to information products.  Most marketers who haven’t yet tastes success get disgruntled after awhile. They start believing that the only way to make money with an eBook is to sell a “How to Make Money Online” product – and since they haven’t done it yet, they can’t tap that niche, either!

The truth is, the top names in this industry have developed side empires within niches that aren’t related to Internet marketing.  They never talk about it because they protect their most valuable information.

The Colonel would never give out his secret recipe for “finger-lickin’ good” chicken, just as top gurus aren’t going to blab about their money-making consumer niches.  What they do instead is use certain tactics to spy on profit-pulling competitors and then in a stealth-like manner, they swoop in and tap into the niche themselves.  Read the rest of this entry »

The Best Blogging Guides for Money Purposes

    By Tiffany | May 17, 2008

I love blogs. I can set one up and within 24 hours start seeing organic traffic from the search engines.  I even set up a theme template with some pre-filled info and it’s funneling traffic to me from Google!

But blogging requires you to know a few details about how to set it up.  You can’t just go to Blogger.com or WordPress.com and start blogging because then THEY are in control of your marketing – not YOU.

Blogs help you develop a following, so I have started digging into any and all info I can about increasing my efforts in this area.

There are two guides I’ve read to date and I enjoyed both. The first one that got me started was Blogging to the Bank.  I like this one because it’s geared toward your money-making efforts.  But it wasn’t the FIRST eBook I should have read… Read the rest of this entry »

    Another Great Recommendation

    By Tiffany | May 14, 2008

Whenever I recommend anything to my list, I always worry and wonder, “Will they find it as valuable as I did?”  It’s one of the reasons I refuse to promote anything I don’t believe it - because I’d be humiliated if I got a lot of emails saying, “Tiff! Why’d you mislead me?”

But I was pleasantly not surprised when I started getting feedback on the 7 Minute Article guide I recommended here on the blog and in my emails to my list.  People loved it! And the feedback was the same - everyone liked the 1 into 8 idea like I did (this is where he shows you how to take 1 article and turn it into 8 unique ones).

Here’s one email I got this morning:

Jason certainly produced an eye opener here. Plenty of great tips, and the ‘8 articles in 1′ idea is absolutely wicked!

Thanks, Tiffany, for a brilliant report.

    Viviane”

I got more from other people, but I won’t post them all here. Point is - it feels good to help people discover gems. Make sure that before you promote anything, you always buy a copy of it first or if they approach you, insist on reviewing a product and then don’t just promote it because they gave you one. If you feel it isn’t worthy, don’t put your name on it!

Jason’s 7 Minute Article (which will really take you 10) is a great buy. And I put MY name on the line for that.

    Warrior Forum Is Down

    By Tiffany | May 14, 2008

Anyone else getting this message on the main page of the Warrior Forum:

    Microsoft VBScript runtime error ‘800a01f5′

    Illegal assignment: ‘ReadLastHereDate’

    /forum/inc_func_common.asp, line 985

I can access other pages of the Warrior Forum, like my WSO page, member lists, etc. Just not the main forum page where all the moving and shaking happens. This started hapening late last night and still isn’t fixed.

Update: Thanks to mod John Taylor, I now know what it is! The forum is being moved to a new server, so there will be some disruptions during the process. Thanks, John!

Graphic Ads - Do They Help or Hurt Your Online Marketing?

    By Tiffany | May 11, 2008

Some marketers have said that graphics are out. Aside from having an ecover on your minisite, they feel that consumers’ eyes glaze over when they see an animated graphic banner ad.

But does that mean they’re completely ineffective?

    Not necessarily.

If I go to a site that has nothing but banner ads and a small amount of text, they’re right - I might not pay any attention because I know it’s all slapped up there for commercial reasons.

But if I go to a site that has something of value to provide me content-wise, and I happen to see 1-2 banner ads that are relevant to the topic, I take notice. Like the Hub Pages banner at the top of this blog.

Why is it there? Because I feel Hub Pages is on the rise as a valuable web 2.0 resource so I give it a prominent placement where people will see it.

I use animated graphic banner ads in my affiliate programs. They work on Squidoo lenses and it turns an otherwise static page into something that has movement. I don’t like flashy sites that are all movement, but stumbling on one banner ad that changes is a pleasant experience for me, assuming it doesn’t flash bright lights at me.

There’s a right and wrong way to use animated banner ads in your online marketing. You just have to find what works best for your niche.

What Does Your Home Office Life Look Like?

    By Tiffany | May 10, 2008

How many of you actually get in the car and drive somewhere to do your Internet marketing business?  I wake up every day, plop my butt down on my couch, and sip my coffee.

To be honest, this has become a sticker in my marriage for a few reasons, so I’m working on changing that.  First, it’s too easy to stick my long hair that my husband loves up in a blob on top of my head. I figure, “Hey! I’m not going anywhere, so why style it?”

Same goes for make-up.  My poor Mr. Wonderful would love to see me fixed up more than just on Saturday nights.  So I’m making an effort – to clean up myself and pretend I’m going to a corporate gig. I won’t be wearing hose and heels though – a home worker can only give up her perks so much. Read the rest of this entry »

Sorry, The Ghostwriting WSO Has Closed!

    By Tiffany | May 10, 2008

To everyone who’s emailing me asking about where the WSO went for my ghostwriting or product owner’s toolkit - it expired! I bumped it once to rerun it but it eventually fell off of page 6 on the Warrior Forum.

While you can’t hire me right now for more work, you can always see if anything meets your needs at my PLR Mini Mart. If not, stay tuned to my list and you’ll know when I launch my next ghostwriting WSO.

Thanks for all the interest! I’m going to finish up the orders I have now and then I’ll focus on my own eBooks coming out and I may launch another one in the next few months.

Recession Slump Marketing for Online and Offline Businesses

    By Tiffany | May 9, 2008

John Lawlor has created a tactic called Slump Marketing, where you harness the power of various online tools and sites to keep your business afloat.

As an online marketer, you may think your business is exempt from recession issues, but it’s no different - consumers are going to pick and choose how and where they spend ANY extra money they have after necessities.

We should all be considering how to recession proof our business. Lawlor does a great job of explaining it.

    Article Marketing Help

    By Tiffany | May 8, 2008

If you’re a lover of free marketing tactics, as I am, then you’re probably using articles to help drive targeted traffic to your domain - whether they’re on EzineArticles or Squidoo or wherever.

But article marketing isn’t being used by everyone. Why? A LOT of people don’t feel comfortable writing. I know - I’m the one they come to asking me to ghostwrite for them.

It’s either too time consuming or they can’t eek out a well-organized, effective article.  From time to time someone on my list will email me asking for tips on how to write.

That’s been hard for me to convey because it took years in Journalism courses in college for me to master. But someone else created a guide to writing a 7 minute article (personally I think it’ll take a non-pro 10 minutes, but that’s still a great pace).

    http://www.tiffanydow.com/7minutes.html

I don’t know the guy - Jason Fladlien - but I did get his product just to see if it can “help me help you” (in the words of Jerry Maguire).  I really liked what I read. Read the rest of this entry »

Forum Marketing Makes Me a Lot of Money

    By Tiffany | May 6, 2008

You probably belong to one or more forums. Some might be Internet Marketing forums like Warrior Forum, and others might be niche-specific. If you’re just posting and taking away information, you’re not using the forum to the max.

I didn’t even realize that I was participating in forum marketing at first. I had plugged in my URL into my sig file (a sig file is your signature that appears below your post where you can include a link back to your domain, depending on the rules of the forum).

Then I started checking my stats. Traffic was pouring in from my forum participation!  Whether I was asking a relevant question or responding to something I felt I could help with, people were seeing my links and clicking through, then converting into sales.

If you want to make the most of your forum participation, make sure you do the following:

I’m Starting a Hub Series About Online Graphics

    By Tiffany | May 5, 2008

So I’m no graphics girl by trade, but I have a friend who IS. And I’ve asked her to help me with a step-by-step tutorial for those of us who would like to create our own online graphics but don’t know how.

Here’s part 1 of the online graphics tutorial.

Here’s part 2 of the series titled, “How to Make an eCover.”

    More to come!
