  • Michel Fortin’s Copywriters Board Closes

    By Tiffany | November 19, 2008

When I first started online, I was taken under the wing of Jimmy Brown who hired me for some niche work and taught me all about conversational online writing for eBooks, articles, etc. Then, I realized I could make more writing sales copy (and some projects required it of me). So I set out to study. I bought books, joined forums, and one of those was Michel Fortin’s Copywriters Board.

Sadly, it closed yesterday. He’s not sure if it’ll ever open again. I’ll admit I wasn’t there on a daily basis, as I am in the Warrior Forum. The Warrior Forum is like coffee - I have to have it every day. With the Fortin Copywriters Board, I went when I needed a fix.

There are some amazing copywriters who hang out there, Harlan Kilstein among them. I like to learn from the best, so I would try my hand at my copy and approach the pros for some feedback. It was always politely presented to me with the right amount of critique and encouragement so I didn’t feel stupid :)

I personally never encountered a problem on that board, but apparently, as Michel stated in a Warrior Forum post, others did. Newbies, he says, were demeaned and ridiculed and grown men and women argued and acted like children. That always amazed me - how 30, 40, 50, and older people can turn around and act like 8 year old bullies on the playground.

It’s the Internet. It does that to people. It makes otherwise happy couple split because one spouse is living some fantasy online. It makes a 30-something year old man stick his chest out and beat it like an ape because he doesn’t have to worry about looking foolish in front of people. It’s just a screen name, after all. It makes grown, married women act like 16 year old giggly schoolgirls, flirting with every Tom, Dick, and Harry they encounter (I see this in our business, too!).

I don’t blame Michel for shutting down the board. This kind of stuff gets draining. I get drained reading it, and whenever I see one of those bickering posts, I normally click right out and go on to something else. Such a time waster!

I’m sure many people will hate to see his board close. It was a good resource. The Warrior Forum also has a copywriter’s section, which I also use. But it’s never bad to have more than one tool at your disposal, right? People - let’s all try to remember there are real people with real feelings online. An angry email or rude comment stings. Is that really what you want to put out there in this world?

    Not me.

    Keep It Simple, Stupid!

    By Tiffany | November 16, 2008

I’ve gotten two back to back emails from people who bogged themselves down in the fine details of something so bad that they got stuck!  Sometimes, you can unstick yourself by following the mantra of this blog post - Keep It Simple, Stupid!

In this case, instead of simply using a template and uploading using cpanel, one person has bought various extra tools - professional website builders and specific FTP tools. Now they had dumped a whole bunch of extra work on themselves - to learn how to use two more tools.

In this case, it’s with IPK - Info Product Killer. The whole purpose, if you remember reading the PDFs or watching the videos, is to QUICKLY get your content up and feeding the search engines. He states that we shouldn’t get wrapped up in making everything perfect - content, etc.

When I buy a product like this, it’s a good idea to follow the basic instructions. If you recall, I whizzed through it so fast initially that I bought the wrong kind of domains. That’s a mistake you don’t want to make. But here’s how I’m Keeping It Simple, Stupid:

1.) I outsourced the content. Since this was for my own sites, I didn’t have to worry about quality as I would with a ghostwriting client.

2.) With the content i got back, I had the urge to correct mistakes like putting the period inside the quotation marks, or fixing it’s to its whenever I noticed a mistake. But I had to stop and post it as is. I was taking too much time rewriting it - what a waste!

3.) I use one template and plug in new graphics. I don’t use any website building software. One person said he looked at the HTML code of the IPK template and it blew his mind. Don’t look behind the curtain! You’ll make it harder than it should be. You don’t need to know complicated code. I use a simple FrontPage program and cut and paste my content in there.

These are just a few ways but you get the gist of it, don’t you? Stop trying to overthink things. I have to rein myself in from time to time, too. Just check yourself on occasion and you’ll be fine :)

Want Top Spot in Google? Build Web 2.0 Backlinks!

    By Tiffany | November 14, 2008

I was whining to my poor mentor Craig Desorcy of http://www.wehelpnewbies.com the other day (feel for him - he has to listen to me bitch and moan when I don’t know what I’m doing) and once again, he gave me some good advice I’m going to share with you. Let’s call it the trickle down effect :)

My dilemma is this: I’m ranking #1 or top 10 on Google for a TON of long-tail keywords having to do with my PLR Mini Mart site. My goal is to be king of the hill, Queen of all things PLR, and so on :) But that takes time and work. For PLR, I’m on page 1. For PLR articles, however - I’m stuck back on page 3. Not a good place to be.

So Craig told me to roll up my sleeves and get to work. Backlinks are what it takes to get top honors. So today, I want to show you a few pages I built in the land of web 2.0 to generate some backlink love to my blog at http://www.PLRMiniMart.com/blog - I’m anchoring this link in the text “PLR articles” so if anyone wants to plant me a backlink somewhere, I’d be grateful - and no, I’m not too proud to beg lol.

The first one I built was on WetPaint for PLR Articles and I like the color scheme and layout but the site appears too busy for my tastes. Still, it’s a backlink!

The second one I did today was a Yahoo 360 PLR Articles page.  Don’t even ask me about that little Texan cutie avatar I made. I was having fun and wishful thinking that I still had that kind of figure! :) Really not fond of this page - boring!  But it’s a backlink!

My third  foray in backlink building for the day as a PLR Articles page at WordPress. Again, plain Jane page - I could have taken time to implement a nice WordPress theme, but the tactic is to generate backlinks, not make an aesthetic impression on people.

My 4th backlink site was Blogger where I built yet another PLR Articles page. Um, my page looks like a bottle of Pepto Bismol spilled on it, but I wanted a girlie theme :) It does its purpose, though.

One of my favorites of the day was building a PLR Articles page on Google Knol. I drool over Knols although when you go to the page, look how stinky the URL is. Come on, Google - could ya not give us a little keyword relevant string of letters to stick in there rather than that bundled up mess?

My last PLR Articles page of the day (I’m tapped out on PLR content) was at Live Journal. Not exactly a beauty but what I do love is this - go to the page and hover over my first link that says PLR articles. See the pop up? I love that. A preview of my page!

Got any other web 2.0 sites you feel would work well for my PLR article backlink strategy? Let me know about them! I have to be careful because, for instance, EZA doesn’t allow PLR articles unless it slams PLR. Boo hiss! Does anyone know about IMNewswatch? I noticed he has a content submission area - I’m used to him picking up my content.

    Discuss!

    Multi Media PLR Content

    By Tiffany | November 12, 2008

We all know what a difference PLR products can make when it comes to building our Internet businesses - and if you don’t know, then it’s only because you haven’t yet realized just what all these products can mean for your bottom line.

Most people who aren’t currently using PLR articles to build their IM sites don’t really understand that PLR means so much more than text-based - after all, isn’t that the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the term “PLR products?”

You can take a simple PLR article and turn it into many different media formats. PLR articles are a quick and easy way to get the content you need to populate your websites, typically coming in packs of anything from five to 100 articles, and they’re usually offered in both .txt and .doc formats (although I just deliver mine in Word only).

You can also buy PLR eBooks This makes it easier than ever to get your own product on the marketplace with the least amount of work. All of the research has been done for you, so all you have to do is choose the PLR eBook which best fits your niche, rewrite it or tweak it, slap a professional ecover on it and you’re good to go!

You can also take a PLR eBook, rewrite it, and break it up into chunks which can be used as individual articles for distribution or as website content (this of course depends on the rules of the PLR site).

Take your written PLR articles or eBooks and make an audio or video production of them. You can package them together to create a unique info product package, use them to set up your own membership teaching site, or even use them as web 2.0 content on Squidoo, Hub Pages, or Google Knol. Some people sell the audio and video PLR already created for you - but then that’s not you branding yourself as the expert, which is key.

There are so many different types of PLR product possibilities today that you should have no trouble building your online business even if all you ever used to create new products and content were PLR products! PLR articles are sold at affordable prices, too, so that aspect delivers another perk in your decision making process on whether to start from scratch or create your product on the back of a pre-written package.

The Best Shopping Cart Solution Bar None

    By Tiffany | November 11, 2008

It’s been awhile since I blogged about or wrote about which shopping cart solution I use so I thought I’d give an update since I get asked this question a lot. I use Download Guard by Sam Stephens. This baby can do it all - and it secures your products from rampant theft.

On the Download Guard site, Sam teaches you many ways to use DLG. It can secure your products, help you manage your membership areas, allow you to offer coupons for your customers, show you your conversion rate, and put customers onto your list - automatically sending them the verification email from your autoresponder system.

But let’s forget the bells and whistles and talk about what matters - ease of use, affordability, and customer service.

Sam Stephens has been superb as a rescuer whenever I didn’t understand something. I can be a real true tech idiot and he calmly helps me through an issue when I ask him.

Affordability-wise, DLG was well worth the price! Some people mistakenly believe you can only use it on two sites, and that’s not true.

Ease of use is on a perfect level for newbies. A friend of mine recently got it and was selling reports shortly thereafter. He said it was easy, too - so I’m not alone.

I have to use it all the time for my PLR Mini Mart site because I continue adding new products and it’s never given me any problems.

One thing I can’t wait for: Sam announced that he’s also implementing an affiliate management program into DLG - which means FINALLY I will be able to allow affiliates promote my Mini Mart and get paid for their referrals!

If you go to his site, make sure you visit the FAQ page where Sam has provided wonderful tutorials in a step-by-step format. This tool just can’t be beat, period! I’ll be a lifelong user of Download Guard and I feel very confident recommending it to everyone else, too!

You Don’t Have to Buy Commission Blueprint to Learn From It

    By Tiffany | November 9, 2008

As a ghostwriter, I get handpicked by many marketers to write the info products they use to launch on ClickBank and other sites with an affiliate program. As they hand over the information, many times the sales copy has already been done. Commission Blueprint is the top product filling out most swipe files in recent days.

I have not ordered Commission Blueprint myself. I have too many plates spinning in the air to dig into another info product right now. But you can learn from this product without spending a dime!

Examine the sales page. What I’m hearing is that everyone’s following the Commission Blueprint sales copy formula to a T, starting with the “Warning.”

    Why?

Because it’s converting well. Commission Blueprint is currently the #1 best-selling product in the Money marketplace of ClickBank. It has a gravity of over 411, thanks to a strategic product launch.

On the sales copy for Commission Blueprint, they don’t just toss out screen shots of earnings. They also provide a screen capture of the interview ClickBank did of one of the creators of the product - giving them instant recognition as an authority figure.

Stephen Clayton was interviewed to help generate publicity for ClickBank because of his own personal success on the site. They know his figures, so they tapped him to be a case study they could showcase in an effort to get more affiliates signed up (which results in more money for them).

This in itself proves to the readers that he’s the real deal.

The site claims that, “In a 30 day period these techniques hauled in another $125,801.25... and this was without the help of either an email list or any Joint Venture Partners!”

If this is true, it’s an amazing success story - and I have no doubt it is. I’ve personally had days where I took in over $3-4 thousand, so I know if someone had the sales momentum going for 30 days straight, it’s doable!

Learn what you can about Commission Blueprint - even if you’re not a buyer. The formula for success is there if you’re a product owner yourself. And I myself plan to follow it, too!

Hearing a lot about Twitter lately but don’t know the difference between a Tweet and a Twhirl? Did someone call you their Tweople and you had a confused look on your face?

Don’t worry. You can learn how to Twitter, too.

Twitter is all over the media (Barack used it to reach his target audience). Everyone you know may Tweet on a regular basis. You need a Twitter account, too. Here’s the great thing - you never have to sit there and spend hours creating pages for THIS web 2.0 site.

Twitter is easy to sign up for. Once you have your account, you just post brief messages to let people know what you’re up to.

Can you use it for marketing?

    YES!

Twitter is great for driving traffic to your domain. There are guides on how to get Twitter Traffic that cost $10 or so - a marketing strategy that fits any budget.

Is there a Do/Don’t list for how to use Twitter?

Yes, there is. If you do nothing but spam, you’re going to be 86′d from most people’s follow list. If you let them get to know you a bit (YOU, not your brand), they will follow along closely.

Learning how to use Twitter is easy and painless.

Do You Download eBooks Free When They’re Not?

    By Tiffany | November 6, 2008

I saw something this week that was very disturbing. Well, two things, really. First, the lady in front of me at Wal-Mart had this more expensive shampoo (like $15 per small bottle). But she unloaded her cart and then had her toddler sit on top of the shampoo in the basket to hide it. She didn’t seem to care that I was watching. I tattled on her to the clerk when it was my turn, but she had high-tailed it out of there.

Second incident took place last night. I’m at Wal-Mart in the parking lot waiting for my two sons. They had run in to get a bandana for his campout. So I see this guy with a large plasma screen TV in a cart whoosh past my car (he was riding the cart like the bag boys do sometimes), but FAST! A woman with him was walking really fast trying to keep up. They were two cars over.

The guy jumps off the cart, literally THROWS the TV in his backseat and they both hop in. They back up, running over the cart completely (it goes flying), and they peel off. It happened so fast I didn’t realize it was a theft until I saw the Wal-Mart employees come running out. There was no license plate and they were gone in a split second.

This pissed me off. Why are product prices so high? Because these two instances of theft happen ALL the time. The manufacturers and retailers have to cover their asses. But it made me think about ME industry.

I get really mad whenever someone emails me and says, “Tiff - someone is letting people download your eBook for free.” Those people who think it’s “just information” and it isn’t a big deal should know that they’re stealing money from me, period. They’re stealing from my 3 kids, from my husband. They don’t know me, so they don’t care.

It’s NO different if you buy a product intending ahead of time to refund it through ClickBank. You’re a thief if you have refund intentions before you even see the product because you know it will be on your hard drive from that point on.

So the next time you think, “Well I really want that but I don’t have the money, so I’ll just refund it,” consider yourself no better than the guy whooshing past me on the Wal-Mart cart who took a flat-screen TV without paying for it.

Just because ClickBank makes it legal doesn’t mean it’s ethical or moral.

What Do You Look for in a Job?

    By Tiffany | November 5, 2008

I started thinking: what do you look for in a job in today’s market? I haven’t been on the job scene since 1999 - that’s a long time! Ever since I became a work-at-home mom, I’ve employed myself through my corporate entity, Write Consultants, Inc.

I think the Internet marketing world offers exactly what I would want if I was job-hunting today, which is:

1.) Flexible work hours. How often do you see a job that offers THIS perk? I remember being in the corporate world and I was pregnant with my son. I thought it was a great job (looking back, it wasn’t). But when it came time for my baby to be born, they couldn’t work out a flexible schedule for me at all - even though what I was doing would have had no impact regardless of what hours I worked. I was pissed!

As an Internet marketer, I work when I want. I take whole days off WITHOUT NOTICE. I take my daughter to the zoo during the day and log on to work for a few hours at night. I take vacation WHEN I want. I don’t have to worry if someone else in the office has scheduled vacation around Christmas - it’s mine if I want it.

2.) The salary I want. This is a toughie. Was it just me or do others feel equally intimidated asking for salary from a prospective boss? Ask for too little and you’ll get it. Ask for too much and you may price yourself right out of a job. I hated it and forget ever asking for a raise. I didn’t bother. I took what I was given. Worst raise ever? A 5 cents per hour raise at Tandy Corporation. Might as well have slapped me in my face. Everyone got 5 cent raises that year - except the executives.

As an Internet marketer, I earn what I EARN. My work reflects how much my salary is. And each year since I started, I’ve given myself a hefty raise and a pat on the back. You know what sucks about corporate work? There’s a salary cap. They may not SAY there’s one, but it’s in place, trust me. I have no cap. I can work more to make more. And the cool thing about this is, just the branding itself helps to increase my earnings over time.

3.) A good work environment. I’m a picky worker. I hate (H-A-T-E) working with annoying people. And in an office, there are some annoying people - always. Whether they’re rude or they talk too much or they steal your lunch out of the office fridge - something won’t be right.

I work at home as an Internet marketer. I work with me, myself, and I. And darn it, I LIKE myself :) (that’s from a movie in case you think I’m just being dorky). My only other workmates are my kids and my husband - and I love them so that’s different. I get to take breaks when I want and fix lunch. I can have my TV or radio on. I can have the A/C set how I want it.

I could go on with my list. The point is, there isn’t much a corporate paycheck could give me that my own Internet income couldn’t. Job security? Not in this economy! Camaraderie? I have met some wonderful people online that I get to be friends with. The Warrior Forum is all I need for support and friendships - it’s introduced me to some great people!

What do you look for in a job?

Maybe YOU ought to give Internet marketing a try.

Finally! My Blogging to the Bank 3.0 Review

    By Tiffany | November 4, 2008

In my post a few days ago, I mentioned that I had ordered Blogging to the Bank 3.0 and was going to review it for you. But after ordering, I got no download so had to wait until today.

Rob Benwell, the author of BTTB 3.0 (who is a member of the Warrior Forum), contacted me via PM and gave me the download link later in the day. Someone else had kindly sent me the download link as well. So I got it, have had a chance to go through it, and here is my formal review:

First things first: If you already own one of the previous versions, don’t buy Blogging to the Bank 3.0. It’s not new enough to warrant a second or third copy.

That said, if you’re a total newbie to blogging, then this is a good product. It covers all the basics and some thing you may not have found elsewhere in more basic guides. I agree with almost everything he teaches. He does need to have a professional go through and edit it, so if wording is your pet peeve, his guide might bug you.

To be perfectly honest, if I was a total newbie, I WOULD NOT invest any money into this at first. I’d go instead of IdiotProofBlogging.com and sign up to the free tutorials and read Craig Desorcy’s free guide. It’s a better place to start for free with step by step information and screen shots.

What’s in Rob’s Blogging to the Bank 3.0 IS stuff you can find free online, as someone else pointed out, HOWEVER - so is the information found in my Squidoo eBook. It’s having everything all in one place that matters.

    Bottom line:

For technical prowess for newbies who want to set up their blog right from the beginning, get Craig’s IdiotProofBlogging guide called “Your First WordPress Blog: The Beginner’s Definitive Guide.” You flatass can’t find a better technical for dummies guide than this - trust me - I’m a tech dummy, I can attest to this.

Once you have it set up and want to learn more about monetization, you might consider grabbing Rob’s Blogging to the Bank 3.0 if you don’t have an earlier version. However, on the IdiotProofBlogging site, it’s a blog itself that teaches blogging, so you’re also going to find good, free information there on topics such as:

    Making Money from Banners
    Productive Blogging
    Topic Research

    etc…

I am always a firm believer in going FREE first (as long as it’s top quality) and then supplementing it with paid products like Rob Benwell’s Blogging to the Bank 3.0.

That’s my opinion. Take it or leave it.

    God Bless America

    By Tiffany | November 3, 2008

I don’t talk politics in a right versus wrong sort of way. But I want to get off-topic from Internet marketing for a second and say something. I’m so proud to be an American. I cry when I vote. I tear up because I’m such a lucky woman to be able to elect my government and have a say without being stoned to death or other horrible repercussions.

Tonight, my 9 year old son says to me, “Mom - it doesn’t matter who wins tomorrow because history will be made - Americans should be proud!”

Do you hear that Americans? Republicans? Democrats? Independents?

We bicker and fight and bless our hearts, we CAN! It’s wonderful. But I hope no matter who wins tomorrow, we can unite like we did in the days after 9/11 and build this country up stronger than it’s ever been.

I voted early. I wasn’t enthusiastic about either choice, to be honest. I respect both men in different ways. I’m proud that we’ve come farther in the United States so we can HAVE a woman and an African American on the ticket. I think it’s wonderful.

I’m proud of our country and we need to instill this pride in our children.

Blogging to the Bank 3.0 Review

    By Tiffany | November 3, 2008

Blogging to the Bank 3.0 - is it worth your $37 investment? I’ve bought Rob Benwell’s products in the past and been very satisfied with them. I’ve even recommended them to my list and have never seen a refund come through for one of them.

I bought Blogging to the Bank 3.0 the second the doors opened. To be honest, I’d been waiting for it. I really enjoyed the 2.0 version (oh, and Rob - if you happen to see this blog, your guarantee on BttB 3.0 still says 2.0 in it).

So what’s my review of Blogging to the Bank 3.0?

I ordered. I paid. I entered the email address for my download info to be sent to. I got taken to a OTO page. I declined. I waited. Download link didn’t come. I get annoyed when I buy something and don’t get it right away. Part of that whole instant gratification thing. The way they had me type in my email address, I started wondering if maybe I typo’d somewhere in there. THEN how would I get my product because there’s no way to contact Rob from his domain! So I had to send an email to ClickBank. Pain in the butt.

    How is it?

I can’t review it until I actually get my copy.

Maybe in the meantime if you got yours, you can tell ME!

PLR Articles: 4 Ways to Use Them for Fast Money!

    By Tiffany | November 3, 2008

Make money on the Internet without having to write a single word! That’s what PLR articles can do for you in your business. Here are several ways to use your PLR content to help you generate income the fast and easy way:

1.) Build a list with them. “Thar’s gold in them thar lists!” Don’t believe it? Build a list of 5-10k and blast an email out promoting something they need and then tell me I’m wrong. You can use the mammmoth plr packs at PLR Mini Mart to queue up 52 week’s worth (a whole YEAR!) of communication with your customers and lure them into your communication lair using my 5-page opt in report that complements the articles perfectly.

2.) Blog with your PLR articles! Blogs need constant fodder for search engines and you can plug in a PLR article here and there whenever you’re short on time.

3.) Use your PLR content to build web 2.0 pages - Squidoo, Hub Pages, Weebly, Ning communities - you name it. Your best bet is to alter them or cut them up - carve it any way you like because with private label rights, you’re in control of how you use them (as long as it’s in accordance with the rules when you bought them).

4.) Use them as forum posts! Now I wouldn’t go spamming a forum with duplicate content that makes you look like you’re a wanna-be authority figure, but use them as a jumping point for you to craft your own words using existing material. This is especially resourceful if you’re in a niche you don’t know much about but you want to showcase a link to your domain in your signature file.

In order to make money from your PLR articles, you’re going to have to find top quality at an affordable price. If it’s too expensive, then you might as well start from scratch. And if it’s not well-written, it’ll be a waste of money.

Blogging Money Has Evolved - Have You?

    By Tiffany | November 1, 2008

Everyone wants a piece of the blogging money pie. There are tales (true, I might add), of people selling off blogs for $15 million. People making six figure salaries blogging routinely about this and that. Blog money is real, but you need to know how it’s evolving to have a true impact in the blog world.

Liz Tomey has a great (cheap at just $8.97) product called How to Make Money as a Video Blogger. Don’t panic! Video isn’t hard - you just think it is. If this tech dummy can do it, so can you. First, the author of this course is someone whose name resonates with all marketers. It’s synonymous with respect.

I started a video blog in another niche, which shall remain nameless. lol It’s a totally different world doing video blogs but one that’s lucrative if you maintain your momentum and don’t slack off because you have better things to do.

Text no longer does it for many consumers. Even on this blog I sometimes add video to it. I stick them on YouTube and embed them into my blog so visitors don’t have to leave to watch it. It’s a great way to build a rapport with your target audience and get them to trust you.

Check out How to Make Money as a Video Blogger and see if it doesn’t help you increase your online earnings!

    Google Knol Marketing Service

    By Tiffany | October 31, 2008

If You Need to Make Money FAST, Learn a Service Skill!

    By Tiffany | October 30, 2008

I hear so many stories about how people need $1,000 by Friday or how they don’t know how they’ll make next month’s rent. They ask me how to make money fast. They think signing up as an affiliate from scratch would help them rake in several thousand dollars but you have to have built a list to take in thousands in one day.

It takes awhile to be able to make money fast when you need it. For example, when I first started out, I had to bid on writing projects and wait to get picked. There was nothing fast about it. Now, however, after a few years of branding myself as a top ghostwriter and a marketer, I have two ways I can make money quickly online.

I can use the list I’ve built to recommend s QUALITY (key word here) product. If I promote crap, my list might as well be a pile of poo because they won’t trust me enough to listen to my recommendations. Even when I need money for whatever (taxes, kids’ private school, etc.), I never even think of pulling the wool over my subscribers’ eyes.

Why? Because I get dozens of emails saying, “Tiffany - I trust you. I don’t have the money for this unless it’s really going to help me. Please be honest.” So I am. I’ve been there before so to advise people to burn their money would make me feel just as bad as if I had stood behind them and pilfered through their wallet and stolen. I won’t do it, period.

Another way to make money fast on the ‘net is to learn a craft and piggyback on other offers. This is HUGE! As a ghostwriter, I can launch a special and take in $5,000-$15,000 in one day. I’ve done it many, many times. My biggest day was $26,000 - but that was from one customer :)

However, here’s how you can utilize services if you don’t have the reputation yet:

1.) Join the Warrior Forum free at http://www.warriorforum.com/index.php?referrerid=35453 and participate on the forum regularly so people get to know you and so that you can keep your eyes peeled on the WSO forum.

2.) Hone your skills - whether it’s writing, graphics, or website building. Can you build a lens on Squidoo or a Hub on Hub Pages? Can you bookmark a link? That’s a skill people pay for.

3.) Look for piggyback ideas. For example. I found and loved and then promoted Info Product Killer. My list loved it, But many asked me if I had anyone who knew how to do graphics for their pages. I said no at the time but my husband piped up and said, “Oh that’s easy!”

This image is one my husband made for the Bakugan Battle Brawlers 6-pack - one of the top selling toys on Amazon.com this year. I had NO clue how to do the wording with it, but he did. So he created the images. We’re creating packs of these to sell to others who bought IPK because I’m sure many are in the same boat.

Others could piggyback off of me. I have people who buy my Building an eBook Empire who, although they get directions on how to set up their site, don’t have time or patience for it, so they want to know if there’s anyone who can simply upload ftp files for them!! You could make money off of stuff like this.

Do you have a lovely voice? Run a WSO in the Warrior Forum to do voiceovers!
The possibilities for quick cash online are endless.

    Everyone Needs a Craig Desorcy

    By Tiffany | October 29, 2008

Well tonight for the first time in - oh years, I lost it. I got so frustrated that I wound up literally in tears. My 4 year old daughter is staring at me and I’m hearing Tom Hanks’s voice saying, “There’s no CRYING in Internet Marketing!!!”

    Here’s what happened:

I had been working hard to clear out a stash of content I had bought but never used for my own sites. Always put my own sites last to work on other stuff. So I got my FrontPage pages done and logged into Hostgator to upload them into cpanel. Huh! Looked totally different.

I follow the instructions, which were confusing for a total tech dummy, and I SAW the files sitting somewhere in cpanel but couldn’t tell where they were - they certainly weren’t showing up ON my domain when I went to it.

So since I’ve always loved Hostgator’s live chat people, and often lavished praise on them, I called on them to help. First guy made no sense. I explained that I was a tech dummy. He kept saying he could see the file in my account but I told him they weren’t on my domain. He finally pastes a bunch of code into the chat which makes no sense whatsoever and I don’t even know what it’s for. I clicked out eventually. He was also very slow and they’re usually fast. This one wasn’t so much rude as he was confusing. Not newbie friendly at all.

Second guy comes on - asks what the problem is. I tell him what I did and he says that should work. Well it didn’t. He says, “I can’t help you if you don’t even know what’s wrong.” I TOLD him what was wrong. I had uploaded my files and they were showing in cpanel but not on my domain. I ask him if he can possibly walk me through the upload of one file so I can make sure I did it right. He simply links me to the tutorial I’ve already seen. Thanks for nothing.

By this point, I was so flustered that I exited and tried figuring it out on my own to no avail. Water works turn on, and I Skype my friend and mentor Craig Desorcy for a helping hand. Within 5 minutes I was in ftp uploading like a madwoman. He is the Internet Marketer whisperer.

I admitted I had been in meltdown mode. He told me next time to walk away when I’m like that and I’ll listen. Do you have a Craig Desorcy in your life? If not, I pray you’ll find one because my friend is priceless to me. One of a kind.

    I SO appreciate you, Craig!

    Tiff ;) (breathing again)

P.S. I still don’t get the cpanel. Guess I can’t use that part to upload. I’ll stick to my FTP.
P.P.S I hope this was a once in a blue moon deal with Hostgator because they’re my favorite host.

What to Look for in a PLR eBook Purchase

    By Tiffany | October 29, 2008

With so many PLR products out there, do you ever wonder if you’re picking the right ones for your business needs? If you have, then I have just the answers you’ve been looking for. I’m going to talk to you about how to choose the right PLR e-book, and be able to rest assured that you’re getting exactly what you need on your next PLR e-book purchase.

The first thing I want to talk to you about are the different things you need to take into consideration when purchasing a PLR e-book. After all, you’re looking for a way to increase your profit potential in your online business, so you want to make certain that it’s going to fit your needs.

The first thing you need to look at when you’re making a PLR e-book purchase is that its content is more substance than not. Often times you will find cheap PLR providers who will throw together a 50 page PLR e-book that is primarily fluff and filler.

They do this to boost their word count, and add just enough substance to prove they did a little bit of research. The problem with these PLR e-books is that, even though their word count may be high, they don’t contain enough real information to be worth anything to you unless you do an extensive amount of research and rewriting.

I’m not talking about the typical rewriting you’ll do to make it your own; but hours you’ll need to invest in making it worth whatever money you plan on charging. The next thing you need to look at when purchasing a PLR e-book to use in your business is whether or not the information it contains will be appealing to your target audience.

Just because your niche happens to be interior decorating, that doesn’t necessarily mean that your target audience is going to be interested in kitchen construction! You need to ensure that the topic of whatever PLR e-book you decide to purchase is going to appeal to your customers, and that the person who has written the PLR e-book has done enough research in that topic to actually make it appealing to your readers.

Last but not least, you need to ensure that you are looking at a PLR e-book that is of sufficient length. If you choose a PLR e-book which only has 15 pages or so, do you really want to spend the time it will take to add enough information to justify whatever price you may want to ask for it? Probably not, which is why it’s important that you check the length of any PLR e-book before you click the order button.

If a PLR e-book is unusually long, you will at least be able to chop it down if need be and either create more than one product out of it, or possibly a product and several articles to advertise that product with.

Info Product Killer CTA Graphics Coming!

    By Tiffany | October 29, 2008

Hey ya’ll! I got a TON of requests for graphics for the Info Product Killer journey we’re all making, so I asked my husband to make the CTA buttons. (Call to action). So right now, I grabbed the best-seller list of the hour for the following categories:

    toys
    video games
    computer and pc
    electronics

…and the DH (darling husband) is making the buttons that include the product, the save x amount and order here stuff. I’ll be listing them for sale soon. Any other categories you want? We may run a deal to make it with a header to match but we’re taking it slow since he doesn’t do IM - he has another job.

    Don’t Make Rush Decisions

    By Tiffany | October 29, 2008

So I’m smack dab in the middle of a massive project - not to mention the other smaller plates I have spinning in the air, when someone emails me asking if I want to partner up and relaunch one of my sites. It’s something I’ve been meaning to do for awhile now (more videos, member area, etc.), but haven’t done. This would allow me to have someone else do much of the part I was missing.

I agree to move forward into the discovery phase to see what we plan to do and domains are being bought left and right (by the other person). Graphics start popping up for me to see (and they weren’t the caliber I was used to).

Suddenly I wake up at 3 AM one night hearing screeching brakes (in my head). What was I doing?????

I know how to achieve these tasks myself. I know how to do a membership area using amember. I know how to do videos, albeit maybe not as fancy as others. I was about to shut down my domain that I’d worked hard to elevate for a couple of years and brand and start from scratch!? Plus lose 50% of my business because I couldn’t make time to take care of what needed to be done.

I emailed saying I wanted to go slower and think this through. You HAVE to listen to your gut and not rush things just because they sound good or in this case, easier. I didn’t know this person at all, and he’s probably a really nice guy. And I was about to fork over my business that had increased my salary by $20k or more each more per year due to time management issues and the fact that sales have slowed down.

I know WHY they’ve slowed - my offering lacks video tutorials, which my competitors have. But my product is the best (IMO) and kept up to date. All I have to do is carve out time to make it all inclusive. And I will.

Listen to your gut. Don’t rush or try taking the easy way out.

An Affiliate Program Is Coming Soon to PLR Mini Mart!

    By Tiffany | October 24, 2008

I can’t wait! For months now (well over a year actually), people have asked me if I had an affiliate program for my PLR Mini Mart. I didn’t, but thanks to Sam at Download Guard, I’m about to! Sam’s implementing a full affiliate program so I’ll be able to align it with my PLR site. That means every customer you send my way who buys, you earn 50%!

I’ve had people load up with $250-$500 worth of PLR at a time and the more I add, the more chances you stand to cash in! I’ll have the three main pages to promote:

    PLR 5 for $5 packs

PLR Reports, eBooks, and Longer Article packs

PLR 52-week packs with 5 page autoresponder (some with graphics)

What topics does my PLR Mini mart offer? Here’s a very sampling and what’s great is - you can tell your traffic to submit a request because I base my production on what people ask for:

    Addiction PLR
    Sleep Disorder PLR
    Credit and Debt PLR
    Dating PLR
    Health PLR
    Tech Gadget PLR
    Self Improvement PLR
    Dog PLR (and other pets)
    Travel PLR

    and a TON more!

Stay tuned and as soon as it’s ready I’ll let you know!

The Broke Affiliate’s Story Is All Too Common

    By Tiffany | October 23, 2008

I got this email today and it’s so common I thought I’d share his email and my reply. If you’re a broke affiliate who has put in the effort and seen slim to no results, read this:

    He wrote:

    Hi,

I have a question about a product that you are recommending. I would have contacted the author except for the fact that there are no contact details available. This might be a lengthy email so bear with me, please. The product that I am referring to is “Info Product Killer.” The reason that I am writing is that for some time now I have been trying to make a go of it by way of affiliate marketing. I have only had very limited success and am growing very weary of the whole process.

I have had the idea of physical products in my head for some now, but since I am having such a hard time of it promoting affiliate products, how can I expect to make a go of it with physical products.

Now with all of the hype out there it is really hard to believe most of what is on any given sales page. Wouldn’t you agree? So, what I would like to know is can an unsuccessful affiliate promoter like myself, buy this program, implement it and expect immediate results? I am really tired of putting all this effort
and expense into my internet biz and not seeing any substantial results. Can you honestly recommend this program to me and tell me that if I follow it to a “T”, I will see results?

Any help that you can offer me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
p.s. I have purchased your products and find them very helpful. Thank you.”

    My Reply to him:

    Hi (name removed)!

Did you know I wrote articles for 30 days straight as an affiliate for 3 different info products and made ZERO sales? ZERO. And I’m a prolific writer!

I also promoted CJ.com and Shareasale - zilch!

I made ONE lens on Squidoo last October and made $500 right away promoting toys on Amazon.
YEAR round I make no less than $165 a month from that lens.

So when I saw IPK, I paid full price JUST because I wanted in on it right away because I already knew the Amazon converted well. If you think about it, as a consumer, when are you more skeptical - when you’re paying $97 for a digital eBook any Tom Dick or Harry could have written that could be of ANY quality - or when you go Christmas shopping and buy a Fisher Price or Samsung product from a retailer?

Online shoppers are not skeptical of tangible buys.

I bought over $2,000 last quarter from Amazon. I buy books, toys, tech gadgets. Amazon is a household name. And the cool thing is, the way he teaches it, you’re showing them how shopping from Amazon saves them money - AND Amazon offers free shipping over $25 on most items. THAT’S why I as a consumer buy there and always add to my cart to get over $25.

Please read this page in full - I created it for skeptics because I’ve been there, done that: http://www.squidoo.com/infoproductkillerreview

The page ALSO answers questions from others on my list AND gives you THEIR reviews.

I hope this helps and please know you’re not alone in your frustration.

Should I Cloak My Links for Info Product Killer?

    By Tiffany | October 22, 2008

Another good question that came in - someone wanting to know about link cloaking for those Amazon links you create from the Info Product Killer course. I say - nah.

First of all, Amazon tracks you buying through your own link and they’ll shut your account down if you do it and they find out. So it’s not likely that they’ll steal your commission - but more importantly is the fact that most consumers don’t know a thing about affiliate commissions!

It’s highly unlikely that shoppers are going to do this. Now if you were selling an info product to Internet marketers - now THAT’S another story ;)

Info Product Killer - Domain Legal Issues

    By Tiffany | October 22, 2008

I got a question that I wanted to address here in the blog so everyone else can follow along.

    “Hi Tiffany,
Yes I bought IPK and I love it. :-) I just have a question for you–if you can spare a few minutes. I know I’ll be working on IPK all day (I took a sick day off from work!) What are your thoughts on using domain names with product/company names in them? I understand the 007 model number strategy but on several occasions full product names are used such as http://www.nintendo-ds-lite-pink.co.us. I’ve always been told this is a big no-no because of potential legal issues. Can we get sued for doing this or do companies simply ask you to stop using the domain name if they don’t like it? I know you can’t give me advice but was just hoping I could get your opinion.
    Thanks :-)
    Amanda”

Okay so here’s my belief - and I’m no lawyer, so if you want solid legal advice, consult an attorney. But I think for THIS purpose, we’re fine. All we’re really doing is shuttling customers to buy from the main company. If they had wanted to, they could have grabbed all sorts of domains with their products in them.

Now if you happened to scoop up FisherPrice.com before they did, I’m sure you’d have a problem. I believe the protocol is that they ask you to stop using the domain if they want you to. Then if you don’t, they could threaten legal action, etc.

But seriously, I am not worried one iota. I’ll also invite the product owner to stop by if he wants to in order to address questions here. So ask in the comments area and if I get him here, he can give you his insight too.

    Toys on Squidoo Sell Well

    By Tiffany | October 22, 2008

Okay, who doesn’t like toys? That’s a silly question – we all like toys! It doesn’t matter if you’re 9 months old or ninety - toys are fun. We like playing with them and we like to give them as gifts – especially to the little ones in our life. If you’re looking for a new and fun Squidoo lens to build, with some really good money making potential, think toys.

Selling toys on Squidoo is a great idea because it never, ever goes out of style. Toys are one of those evergreen lens topics that will always be popular so the market is always strong.

There is a ready-made market of parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents who love to see reviews and recommendations of everything new. Stories about favorite toys, and safety ratings are also excellent content that grown-ups want to see.

One of the best things about toys on Squidoo lenses is that loving parents and others will often add more to their cart as they are preparing to check out. If you’ve got things set up well, you’ll have not only sales, but add on sales, too! Because toys are fun - and fun to give!

You can create a toy lens with text hyperlinks and SquidUtils.com image links but make sure you also use Amazon and eBay modules, too! They perform well and you just showcase whichever toys you want. Building a Squidoo lens for toys is a good idea for anyone looking to expand their earning potential on this powerful web 2.0 site.

Can Info Product Killer Be Used with Squidoo?

    By Tiffany | October 21, 2008

Second time someone’s asked me this, so I thought I’d answer. I recently promoted Info Product Killer - giving my list a special code to get $68 OFF (WSO777) - and the response was overwhelming. Hundreds bought it and those on my list learned about it ahead of the curve of other marketers.

So many people have questions and one that’s come up twice now was Can Info Product Killer be used with a free site like Squidoo instead of having to buy your own domain?

The answer is - I THINK so - but I’m not 100% sure, so I’ll test it and see. The product owner isn’t familiar with Squidoo, but I showed him how - if you type in Christmas top toddler toys - I rank #1 with a Squidoo lens. Same thing when you type in top toddler toys 2008 - I’m #1 with a lens.

I can’t give away his formula because that’s not fair to him, BUT I tell ya what - I’ll create the same (competing) pages and we’ll see if a lens or domain turns out better! I’ll replicate my system on lenses and domains - a duel. I believe Squidoo will give my domains a run for their money.

Info Product Killer - Yeah, I Paid Full Price!

    By Tiffany | October 20, 2008

I’m not sorry I did, either. Info Product Killer is one of the rare products I paid a lot for that I was happy to pay more. Check out my review about it here: http://www.tiffanydow.com/blog/info-product-killer-review/

I bought it on the spur of the moment but I am really into increasing my affiliate earnings. The best way I’m finding to make a steady income stream online is through tangible year round sales. I know I’m a big Amazon shopper myself, so I knew it would convert.

My own sites are doing well - but they’re all web 2.0 pages. He shows you how to cash in SEO-wise (very strategic and easy) and also shows a “Tiff friendly” (meaning she won’t lose her shirt) low-cost PPC method for immediate traffic.

Still, my site was indexed in 24 hours and it made money on the very first night it was created using the low-cost PPC method.

Read the Info Product Killer review now!

    Tiff ;)

P.S. I want to add a review form one of my list members that just came in: “Hi Tiff, I bought IPK through your link and I have to tell you how pleased I am that you recommended it to me. I have been trying something similar, but not as comprehensive.”
